As ALWAYS....the food was delicious!!!
Excelente servicio de Fara, la comida espectacular, y el lugar y su ambiente muy bonito. Recomendado.
9:45 reservation through Opentable and was not seated until after 11pm. What was the point of the reservation???? Crowded could barely get to the table due to the tables being so close together. The food was average at best. I have had better takeout. It was my birthday and it was a horrible experience. I was tired by the time we were seated. I would not recommend Tao Uptown to anyone for any reason. Hopefully downtown serves their A game for their patrons.
Nice ambiance but even with 3 bartenders working a small bar on a Saturday night I had to wait probably 8 mins to even be acknowledged. I’m not a snob in any way, I used to be a bartender myself but 8 minutes in restaurant time is a very long time.
Food was tasty but extremely overpriced for the taste. I got the grilled Ahi Tuna and for what I paid ($41) I expected it to be super tasty. Unfortunately it was just okay. I had a better seared tuna in TriBeCa a while back that I paid $20 for and I still dream about it. My friends that came with me are American born Chinese and they were super disappointed with the taste too. We had better Chinese inspired food in flushing than this. So, I will not be coming back because this place is just extremely over rated.
You will never get bored there, just seeing the people is very enjoyable
Our server was very knowledgable of the menu and so kind!
Amazing atmosphere, energy, delish food and quick service!
Tried many menu items. Orange chicken was pretty basic. The sauce tastes like it was from Costco. Tried lettuce wraps and they tasted fishy and sent back. Brussel sprouts were tasty and flavorful but some were undercooked and some overcooked with a few just right. The food we had was a bit pedestrian for such an great atmosphere. We did have the pork potstickers which I would order again.
Peking duck is absolutely delicious, pricey for $82 half duck though it was abundantly shareable worth if you have at least 4 in your group. Beef with broccoli $54 was very tasty made of NY strip cut with well-seasoned sauce over cut up broccoli stems and stramed florets. Our third shareable was a typical $20 shrimp fried rice was okay. Overall, food was delicious but our waiter was just okay and did minimum service.
Celebrates my bday at Tao. The cake dessert was very delicious. Great resto to hang out with friends.
Food was excelent, so was the atmosphere and service. A bit too buisy and nosie.
Amazing service and food. My sister enjoyed her birthday. The host was welcoming and helpful while we waited to be seated (along with the accommodations request i made With booking) everything was exceptional.
Exceptional service. Food is good but not worth the price. Had to wait 25 minutes for table even though we had a reservation which I was not happy about.
As soon as I got there, the hostess was welcoming and patient. It was so crowded I considered leaving but she was so nice and helpful that I stayed and did not regret. Ashley was amazing!
We are from Southern California...land of amazing restaurants and the NYC TAO is our favorite in the city!! WHY? AMAZING service - every time - fabulous atmosphere - comfy seating - a well-stocked bar and delicious food with a beautiful presentation. TAO is our first stop in the city and we come every year in December to grab a little early Xmas spirit. I literally CANNOT find a single thing wrong with this place. Thank you TAO for always going above and beyond!!!!
Waiting 45min with a reservation is not acceptable.
Tao was a great spot years ago, and still has cache with tourists but it's been surpassed as a must place to dine in NYC. Not many vegan or vegetarian options and the food tends to be drowning in glazes and spreads.
Great place amazing food! The service was excelent
Slow service, despite it not being busy when we came in for lunch
Awesome food and amazing customer service . Our waitress was very helpful in recommending options for us and it was amazing. Food were delivered very quick after we mentioned that we had a show to go watch.
Had been recommended by our son in law who regularly dines with you - we loved the whole experience and our waiter was outstanding. For UK visitors we find all eating and drinking in NY very pricey mind you!
The food was awesome, we had healthy portions and my daughter was in awe of the Atmosphere and Ambiance!!!
Delicious and outstanding Service!!
Best Orange Chicken ever! Fried Rice with Lobster was great, too! Service and ambience both were high class!
Love the food. Our waitress was very attentative
Been there many times - appearance of restaurant has deteriorated. Lamps around the tables were dusty. Nothing was as bright and pleasant as it should have been. Have been a regular but may wait a while before going back!~
The reason for the lower rating is the 45 min wait for our table that we had a reservation for. The ambience and energy was great although a little loud. The food and drunks were good also. It was good, but not great.
Service was okay, very slow
Tasty tasty tasty. Nice atmosphere. Expensive wines. Privé/qualty ratio 8.
As excited as we were to be in NY with my girls and celebrate the beginning of the holidays, we were super excited to celebrate the end of my cancer journey.
The one that has taken me through 3 surgeries, 16 chemo
treatments and 25 radiation treatments. When asked by Open Table what we we’re celebrating I said “end of radiation”.
That’s it, that simple. No I didn’t want a parade or anything just a simple “congrats”
Moving on from that we were out of that restaurant in 50 minutes flat. My daughter wasn’t even done her edamame when, I kid you not our waitress took her plate. We all started laughing as to how ridiculous it was.
Literally, she was dipping it in the soy sauce that was in that little square dish, which was on top of the flat plate when she took the whole setting.
Food was great - atmosphere very pretty. Loud but we expected that.
Customers should be priority from the minute they walk in to the minute they leave.
Long wait. Average food except Sashimi excellent
Room was noisy and cold, had to ask to turn the ac down, waiter got my wife’s order wrong but wouldn’t admit he got it wrong. Food was tasty but no sooner had we finished the starters they dropped the main down, not very classy, just about average.
Food was awesome: Pekin duck, salmon sashimis and incredible giant fortune cookie . Service was warm and efficient. An amazing moment spent with family!
Food and ambience are wonderful! Everything was absolutely delicious!
Our server was not engaging at all. I felt like I was an inconvenience for being there to cause her to work!?! I have dined at Tao four times over 12 years. Service in the past was good. I feel like the “chain “ has grown too big for its own britches. Always a cool vibe with ambiance but service needs some work.
We had a wonderful table upstairs with ba great views of Buddha. We loved everything we ordered.
Waiters could have been nicer. Food was cold. As soon as the waiter has more than 3 tables didn’t care as much for our table
The service and food are always good. We will be back the next time we're in NYC
Voorgerecht saté (wel zoet) en edamame goed. Pork was erg droog
