I hadn't been since the pandemic started since I was eager to dine indoors once again. The tables were socially distanced, and everyone was temperature checked so I felt totally safe. The peking duck (for two) was amazing and honestly could've been shared with 3-4 people. My party also had the Tao 5 spice short rib which was very good but small portion relative to the cost. The triple pork fried rice and lobster lo main were also top tier. Highly recommend if you're looking for an upscale asian fusion meal.

Tao is a great place to take your special lady or man out for a date. The energy and vibes are great and the food is phenomenol.

Tao is the best place for a date night or to an anniversary. The ambience is beautiful and the servers are abosluetoy nice.

I’ve been to Tao many times and I have to say that the uptown location really needs a makeover. Tables,chairs and the lounge area are looking old and worn out. Restrooms could use some sprucing up as well.

Never a disappointment!

We had a nice evening server and staff were very good - disappointed that the full menu wasn’t available but i get it (covid)
Restaurant felt closed when u walk in definitely need to do something upfront - 500$ for a dinner I would like to feel like its open. You’re creative figure it out.
Also restrooms after ten - gross , filthy, again felt closed like it was time to go. Didn’t like that AT ALL

First time back at Tao after a year due to the pandemic. Menu has changed a bit, but everything we had was delicious. You're allotted 90 minutes table time per reservation, but we didn't feel rushed at any time during our meal. Everything was spaced nicely and clean, didn't feel anxious being there. Looking forward to my next meal there.

Great option for asian food with a nice decor and a good vibe

We went on the first day NYC allowed 25% capacity on a snowy day. Needless to say, it was quiet, and social distancing worked well. But unlike some other places, the server didn't ask us to put our masks on when he approached the table, also the restaurant felt closed, some candles were left unlit, the Buddha was silent, etc. We sat in a corner to make sure we were as far away from other tables as possible. I kept feeling something hit my head, but it wasn't a waiter brushing by or anything. At the end of the meal, we realized there was a leak from the ceiling, water drops falling on my head the whole time. Funny or annoying, I don't know, but for the price, rather annoying. I'm sure we would have been moved if I had realized, still kind of anticlimactic

I love Tao and the food. I have been there several times, unfortunately on Valentine’s Day! I did not appreciate, such a disrespectful waitress. She was very unprofessional complementing my husband and calling him love, and of course ignoring my presence. Please be more selective as I consider this an excellent restaurant.

Amazing experience. Perfect example of what dinning should be even with a pandemic going on. Felt safe with the table spacing and glass barriers(did not take away from the beautiful ambiance), professional staff, and food came out quick. What more could you ask for.

The food, the drink selection and wait service were all excellent. My wife and I went there for our wedding anniversary. Everything that I requested was executed to a T. I'm sad that due to the pandemic we will not be able to go back there for the foreseeable future.

Went to Tao during Covid. The restaurant was socially distanced and they took temperatures upon entering. Felt completely safe And they do contact tracing because they ask for your address. Food and service was good and same quality as before Covid.

The place is still very nice , the quality of the food has decreased and of course it didn’t help that we visited during the pandemic. We made the reservation for 8:30pm and nobody told us that the kitchen closes at that time until we got there so we had to order within the next 5 minutes ( as told by the host who escorted us to our table ) so our special dinner turned out to be a little stressful because they kept us telling that everybody should be out by 10 pm

The food was yum. Loved their chilly chicken and the giant fortune cookie with mousse. Value for money

This is my go to spot every time I visit NYC. Love the food, ambiance, service and music was great. Don’t forget your photo-op with the beautiful Buddha statue.

The food was very delicious and the service was great! I had made a reservation and I was immediately sat and my server was great as well. Overall an amazing experience and I definitely will be returning.

I surprised my bf with a dinner here for his birthday. The server was fantastic and we felt very safe with all the safety measures they had in place. The atmosphere is beautiful, romantic setting. I really loved the sushi, super fresh! The giant fortune cookie birthday treat was a wonderful ending to the night. We will definitely be going back!
