Es muy bonito lugar la comida no me encanto sin embargo esta rica
The food and decor was amazing. Perfect place to celebrate
It is one of our favorite places in NYC for a family dinner with our 3 teenagers.
Food is outstanding.
Service is impeccable.
Atmosphere is fun.
Lunch with a friend before theater. The most beautiful and calming atmosphere I’ve had in a while dining out.
Only place I eat Kung Pao Chicken
45 minute wait with a reservation is out of the question, Very disappointing
Tao is an amazing dinner spot; very busy place! Be prepared to wait even if you have reservations. They have two bars and two levels of seating. Loved their music selection and their food was delicious. The entire table said they liked what they ordered. Portions are big and it’s best to share with the table and order different things. Also, my Lychee Martini was perfect.
Not the first time here food is always good but once again we had to wait an hour for a table even tho we had a reservation.
Extremely terrible service. Servers have no
LOVE this restaurant...the food and vibe are great!
The food as well as the ambiance was really good
But the service was really poor!!!
Please be a bit more polite
Great dinner the flavors and variety were excellent. It was not everyday Chinese but a very good mix of Asian fusion . Delicious and beautifully presented
The server was horrible. After he heard we were not drinking alcohol his entire personality changed for the worse. He wanted us in & out... FAST! The food was delicious as usual, but the server needs more training in the customer service department.
The waitress was absolutely amazing although i forget her name. The food amazing. I’m so happy i was able to show my date how amazing this place is. Cannot wait to come back.
Love the atmosphere and people there. The prices for martinis our outrageous. The food was good and the help very nice and kind.
Table was served wine. Two glasses were served dirty with dried red wine on them (we were drinking white wine). Asked for clean glasses and watched bar back pour the wine from dirty glasses into clean glasses. Was not the best experience. Have dined at Tao several times at both the Vegas and NYC locations and this was the first time we had less than average service. Food was great as always.
It was my birthday, and I arrived on time for my reservation but the rest of my party was running late. They refused to seat us even with a majority of the party being there. When everyone got there (about 20 minutes later) they told me we only had two hours at the table and then we had to leave.
I took my 10 year old daughter for a special lunch. She loved it! We ordered the spicy tuna appetizer which was recommended by our waiter and did not dissappoint. And then we had lo mein and orange chicken. Definitely not Tao's best, I'm sure. Lo mein was a bit oily but tasty. If you're going for Chinese food, this isn't where to go. Stick with their specialties!!
Great environment. I’ve been several times but fun to bring out of town guests. Our order was messed up and so some main dishes came out after we’d all finished eating - probably 20 minutes later. It happens but service had also been slow. No markdowns or offers of anything comped for the mistake so when we tipped 15% accordingly (or tipped 20% not counting the meal that was brought late and not eaten) we were surprised to have a manager come and ask us about our meal and why was the service not up to par. Felt extremely rude.
We indulged in the Chef's Special but I felt we probably would have received a better deal by ordering the items separately. Please note the Chef’s Special does not include dessert or drinks.
Poor service and tables too close to each other despite the place being EMPTY
I eat here fairly often. The food is always delicious, and the service fine. This time the service was poor. We waited forever for our food, even though we informed the wait staff that we had theater tickets. We had to remind them that we were waiting. When we paid with several credit cards, the waitress apparently dropped one and got our bill screwed up by dividing the bill by 3 instead of 4. She found the card on the floor, but did not attempt to locate the cardholder. When we complained, she admitted that she had found a card and left it at the desk. At that point, we had no time to recalculate the bill, as we had to make a curtain. An unpleasant experience this time.
Have eaten there multiple times over the years. The food is always amazing, no matter what we have. It was great to go with an old time friend prior to 59 E 59th St show.
Joe was an exceptional waiter! He had great knowledge of the food offerings and helped us each decide what would best meet our expectations. He served us with enthusiasm and humor. He is definitely an asset to your Tao staff!
There was a bad draft at our table against wall that was bothersome the entire time we were there. Food was very good and so was service... left to get drinks after dinner next door due to the draft..
Excellent presentation, outstanding value
Makes no sense having to close out bar tab before moving to your table!
Delicious food but problem with the A/C. It changed from freezing cold to too hot every 5 minutes. Music way too loud
It was nice
Orange crusty chicken is out of this world! Deserts worth the penny too.
The Ambience and lacquered roast pork was worth every penny!!! My cousin genuinely enjoyed her birthday!
The food is excelent and the place is beautiful. Our waiter gave us a very good service.... love this restaurant.
At leat 30 minuts wait for the table. And bad service.
Almost everything went well besides the service at the front desk. Very rude, stand-off ish staff. They had two young ladies at the front who were impolite throughout checking in the reservation and seating the staff. The host told us they also “did not have a single available chair in the entire establishment” to accommodate one more guest that we wanted to place on our 12 person table. Once I told him we had a second reservation we could pull the chair from, he quickly gave us the extra chair. Regardless, the restaurant had hundreds of chairs visibly available throughout our dinner so I am not sure why the host was so opposed to assisting in accommodating our reservation. I dine regularly all throughout manhattan and this is a caveat that would never occur at another upscale restaurant. It’s unfortunate that a place with such nice ambiance and decent food would have such a rude host and check - in staff. The waiters and other staff members were cordial and polite.. seems as if it is just the staff who handle most interactions that seem to put on this unprovoked, arrogant persona. Would recommend the food, but their management should re-train staff on proper etiquette for their own benefit.
I had surgery and this was the first time I dined outside. The Kungpao chicken was a little disappointing. We loved the satay Chilean sea bass, seafood and sushi.
My partner’s birthday
