We had reservations for 9pm and we got seated at 9:40 the rest was very good
My first time there and was amazing everything was perfect
Incredible ambience. food prices excessive. quality of food moderate. Service adequate.
I have been hearing of Tao for a while and I took my Wife to the City and decided to give it a try. GREAT choice. The food I thought I was great. Service was a bit slow, but it is a busy place. Even though the service was a bit slow I still really enjoyed my experience. I would for sure go back and recommend this place!
Perfect valentines lunch, outstanding service and excellent food, as usual at Tao
More for the ambiance than the food. Since the prices are on a higher level you'd expect for from the food. The presentation is wonderful though. Waiter and staff are friendly except for the guy who wouldn't allow us to take pictures from the upper level. He needs to be reminded why a lot of people even go to these places. They end up taking pictures. Overall, a good dining experience.
Love this place !!! Great food, atmosphere and drinks
Love the place! The decor is fun with the giant Buddha, and nice environment for our occasion. The waiter was very fun and friendly and even put candles on our fortune cookie plate to congrat us. It was a great place! The only issue would be food, not very good and authentic or creative. I’d much prefer Buddhakan’s food.
Great Valentine’s Eve dinner venue!
Fantastic location, service and food. The lychee martini was excellent. We have been to both locations and they are some of our favourites.
Food awesome. It was a snowy Tuesday evening so it wasn’t really crowed, and felt extremely rushed by the server.
Really nice food in a beautiful restaurant. Prices are higher than expected. A must if you go to NYC. Tuna tartar above crispy rice is a must.
Todo perfecto , atención y comida
We went for sushi before a show. The sushi is fabulous, the tuna tartar on crispy rice even better. It was so early it was hard to get feel for the crowd and noise. Our servers were nice enough but the place is a bit corporate. My phone contained our theater tickets and was about to die so I asked the bartender if he had s charger I could use. He told me no one behind the bar can have any kind of charger. I went to the hostess stand and asked the same thing and got the same answer. I know it’s small but just seemed that someone would have gone out of their way to make a charger available. We rushed our dinner to stop by the apple store on the way out. Still, the good was excellent. We had 2 special sushi rolls plus the tuna tartare.
Excellent everything!! I will definitely come back again.
Food and drinks were excellent! Lots of small shared dishes, each one better than the next
Beautiful place. Went for lunch on Sunday. Food was excellent. Stay with the lettuce leave appetizers and Pai Tai shrimp. The short rib appetizer was very skimpy.
It was amazing! Wait was a bit long but there’s a nice lounge area where you can have drinks! The music is poppin and food was great! Get the lychee martini, so good
I had reservations for 10:30pm and didn’t get seated until 11 pm which i didn’t mind , the food was great especially the orange chicken!
Downtown is better and has more space. Lounge area here is too small to accommodate a wait for a table.
Great time as usual. Lobster fried rice is a winner
We loved Tao! Everything we ordered was fantastic. My only complaint is, like many other small plate sharing style restaurants, they push you to order all your food at once, then they bring it all at once! NO! The servers bringing out the food just plop it down when there really is t even room on the table.
So I had a reservation for 6 at 6:45pm. I came in (with half the party)and the host informed me that my table was ready but we couldn’t be seated until the entire party arrived. 1’minute later the others arrived and I informed the host we were all here only to be told I’d receive a text when my table is ready. We waited another 20 min and then were sat at a table that should’ve been for 4 people. Good food but there seating policy and reservation policy needs to be reviewed. I feel like the New Orleans saint. E.J.
Absolutely amazing!! Will go back every time I’m in NYC! You can’t get better!!
Unfortunately the food was overpriced Chinese food. The $45 sea bass that I ordered was the driest sea bass I’ve ever tasted and definitely not worth the price. We also ordered a mandarin fried rice to share and only had a few bites because of the burnt taste. If you’re looking for really good food in new York do not go here, if you want drinks and a nice lounge area then this would be a good spot for you. Our waiter was very short with us and took long to bring us our check in the end. We were seated promptly and had a nice view of the lower floor area.
Food and ambiance were amazing. Drinks were delish, but expensive at $19 each. So happy we went!
Cozy, service great! Food excellent!
I’ve been there many times, twice in the last month and going again on February 21st. My suggestion to the owners is to get nicer people to greet you. The women at computers as you walk in have been so rude, I almost asked to see a manager. The wait staff is ok but I always feel rushed. There is a tremendous Buddha inspiring us, why can’t the staff be nicer and slow down. I’d like to enjoy my experience next time. I know it’s a hot spot, but the prices are high and the service and overall atmosphere should reflect the fact that people are supporting your restaurant and should be treated kinder.
La comida es toda una experiencia para el paladar, el servicio inigualable y el ambiente es increíble. Es un poco caro pues terminas gastando más de 100 dls pero sin duda alguna alguna vale la pena...
Wasn't worth the price.. food was pretty much cold.. could have ordered chinese food for chinese store which would have been 10x better.. Ambience was great tho.
The food is mediocre. There was nothing great about the pork potstickers were pretty ordinary, with the meat kind of dry. The spicy tuna tartar on crispy rice was the saving grace of the day. The entree of Mandarin sizzled fried rice with roast pork and peking duck was disappointing. It tasted just like chinese takeout fried rice. The side of chinese broccoli with black bean sauce was uninspiring as well. The dessert of giant fortune cookie was good, as were the oolong and lapsang souchong teas. The fortune cookie itself was a nice light crispy shell with white and dark chocolate mousse served with a lot of fruit and berries was good.
Overall impression was light they'd taken Panda Express food in bulk and repackaged it. Items on the menu like orange chicken and kung pao chicken are normal chinese takeout fare and that kind of disappointed. By contrast, Buddakan's food was creative, fresh and very interesting.
Food was amazing, and ambiance was just as great
Good as always 😊
Food was fat but with zero taste. We expected a lot more.
Hands down best experience and Kung pao chicken I’ve ever had! Will definitely recommend to all my Dallas friends
Excellent service , Excellent Food , my 2nd visit . I will definitely be back again.
Great food, great place, and great service! Really liked its banana pudding.
