About Tao Restaurant and Nightclub

Guests are transported from the City of Sin to the Pacific Rim inside TAO Asian Bistro, a 60,000 square-foot, multi-story “Asian City” housing a restaurant, banquet facilities, lounge and nightclub. Corporate Executive Chef Ralph Scamardella has developed a menu for the 400-seat restaurant by incorporating culinary components from China, Japan and Thailand. Signature dishes include offerings from sea, sky and land including Chilean Sea Bass Satay with Wok Roasted Asparagus, a preparation of Peking Duck that consistently receives accolades, and Kobe Beef Shabu Shabu along with a full sushi bar.

Outstanding food, incredible service, ask for TJ. The seabass and the short rib appetizers were delicious. Great Sake selection too. We will be back.

The only thing that I’d say was a negative is it was a first time dining experience and we were not told by our server that the portions were so large which lead to a lot of wasted food. Other than that everything else was A1 from start to finish.

The sea bass was amazing. The glaze is so good and it melts in your mouth. The drinks were great. Our waitress gave us great service and was offered us a free desert. It was a huge fortune cookie and it was fabulous! Our overall experience was spectacular.

The service was superb and the atmosphere was very calming and relaxing early in the evening (6:15pm) We had the jumbo shrimp and they were good and short ribs were amazing. The desserts were very yummy! By the time we left it was getting loud.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Vegas. The sea bass is one of their specialties and have not had it better anywhere. Recommend the pork pot stickers and Peking duck spring roles for appetizers.

The food and the quality of the food was very good, but the service was terrible, terrible. We have to stand two times for the waiter to bring us the check. It took us almost two hours to get the food and the check. Not good at all.

Tao is an upscale restaurant serving a mix of sushi and asian fusion. Typhoon Lobster was my favorite dish, sushi was outstanding, Pad Thai was so-so. Waitress was not very patient, could not quite explain all of the dish details.
Make a reservation before coming - this place is super busy.

We have been to Tao on numerous occasions and I won’t return unless others really want to. Consistently bad seating!!! Which one gets accustomed to but we had asked for special seating and good location. We were next to kitchen. 4 large adults at the same table 2 petite women were seated at next to us. Plus the ambiance is so vegas false and not friendly. Gets old.
Meat was cold sushi not as good as usual. Overall disappointing night.
However very nice waiter.

We had a terrible experience and ended up leaving without ordering. We had made the reservation almost a month in advance and we're very excited about coming to the restaurant - we were seated (the hostess was very nice) and the server answered some questions and then gave us a "couple of minutes" to consider our order. The restaurant was not busy at all, but, after consideration, for about 5 minutes I was "on guard" to catch someone's attention in order to ask one final question and make the order and no one passed close or had their eyes on us for more than a millisecond so that I could signal them, and then I spent almost another 5 minutes with my hand *held up* so that someone would finally see me, and I saw about 8 restaurant employees seeing me with my hand held up but no one came (and once our waiter came to the floor, he went to another table - which is legitimate, but someone else should see what I am so desperately trying to get attention for and not leave it to him if he is busy and they are just standing there- it was just like they couldn't care less if it wasn't their table). You do not come to such a fancy place, pay that much money to be treated like you are invisible! It was infuriating...! I feel stupid waiting for it and being so excited about it... It wasn't even busy.

Food was good and the atmosphere was fascinating. Just for the atmosphere I would go there. The Sea Bass I would give 5 stars, but the noodles I would give only 3. Sushi was above average at 4 stars. Our server had an attitude like he didn't want to be there. It may have been a bad night for him.

We were very disappointed with this place. While the food was good, the service was not. We saw our waiter when he took our initial order for cocktails and a few minutes later when he delivered those drinks and took our order. He never stopped back by after that, even when we asked another server to please send him over. Eventually, we sought out the manager to get our check so we could leave. The manager did comp a portion of the meal and I certainly appreciate that. However, I have eaten at many great places in Las Vegas and never had service this bad.

Excellent customer service. They responded to my online request by seating us in front of Buddha and also provided me with a surprise birthday dessert and candle. The cocktails and appetizers were delicious. While my partner adored his meat dish, on my side I felt the vegetarian selection could have been larger. We went on a Tuesday night so it was quite quiet and thus lacking a little buzz, but again, the staff were great and the décor is beautiful.

Odd check in for our reservation, the girl at the front was unapproachable . We get sat at our table, the waitress is nice and patient while explaining the menu . After taking our order, she accidentally knocked the soy sauce off the table which proceeded to splatter all over my boyfriend white shoes. She was apologetic and got some wet rags to wipe them off. We remarked we would take them to the shoe shine as they were stained . At this point, front of the house manager was there , no offer of any comps . Nothing, just awkward silence. Word of advice - next time offer a drink or dessert when any service member spills on guests, just a thought. As for the food - tempura was greasy with the dipping sauce being flavorless. Fried rice with duck was excellent. Seared tuna was over cooked and dry . Overall , disappointing. I wouldn't come back.

The restaurant looks absolutely stunning - sit underneath a towering Buddha statue with koi swimming around its feet. Unfortunately the food is ridiculously overpriced for how awful it is - about $40 an entree that’s significantly under Panda Express quality. (I actually like Panda, but would expect to pay only about $10 for a meal there). Everything is coated with way too much sugar and was lukewarm. Go for the view and over the top experience if you’re into it, but it’s definitely the worst food I’ve ever had in Vegas, by far.

Very very loud when we were there on a busy Saturday night. It is probably good when you are in a small group ready to party, not so much for a romantic dinner. Decor was grandiose but the table a very close to one another. I liked the food.

Even after having a reservation we waited 45minutes before getting a table. Once at the table it took over 15-20minutes for a server to show up. For a high end restaurant the service and time to get the food was below par.
