Very cold the air conditioning
Everything was fantastic apart from we were seated at 11pm when our booking was at 10pm. We were not apologised to at all and were made to wait standing at the bar. Incredibly rude front of house.
The location was really Amazing, the food really good, the dessert also. There was only one negative thing: the a/c. Too cold for us, onestly.
As always food was extremely consistent The service was amazing
Great Time, a Little Bit loud. But the Atmosphere is stunning
Very nice place! Food isn’t in small portions. Big enough to get your moneys worth. Very nice ambience.
The interior of the restaurant is very well thought out and planned.
Overall fantastic experience!
I don’t have a bad word to say. Everything was outstanding from the drinks to the small plates to the main course and straight through to dessert.
My sister and I took my mother out to Tao for her birthday. My mother absolutely loved the restaurant. From the food to the service, everything was wonderful and that says a lot coming from me since I manage restaurants in TS. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good ambiance, great food and great service.
A perfect day in the city. Saw Betrayal then met up with my friend for dinner at Tao. Our experience was wondrous. The venue, service and food was outstanding. We celebrated each other’s birthdays and landed on the fortune cookie dessert which was excellent. The staff was amazingly attentive. We were giddily happy so we thank you for the ending of our perfect day.
We had to wait for 2 hours after our scheduled reservation time. The hostess was rude and the manager had to come and solve it. Im a well known New York visitor and will not recommend TAO to my friend anymore - i would tell them to go somewhere where they get value for their money.
My fav restaurant anytime I visit NYC. The downtown location I prefer to the uptown location & will make a greater effort to get there just for the vibes. Thanks to your great staff for your consistency!
Seating too crowded, too noisy
Everything was amazing the only complaint I have is that I wanted to have one of my dishes wrapped up but they took it before I could say anything.
Highly recommend. Wonderful food, service and ambiance!
Birthday celebration. Had a great time
Bad service and food wasn’t any particular. But, cool place for late diner and drinks with friends.
Every time I’ve gone to Tao I’ve had a great time. The overall energy of the restaurant is very hip and cool, and the food is really good! Definitely pricey but pretty on par with other similar restaurants in NYC.
The ambience was great! Food was delish, family style. Portions are a little small. Sea bass appetizer was AMAZING!
Good affordable high end vibe. Music was obnoxiously loud and did not go with the theme. Having a conversation was difficult.
Waitress was kind of rude.
Was very nice experience until we were done eating and suddenly we were being rushed off the table. My water got cleared before I was done etc and waiter was long gone after food was served. I understand the need for tables but was a bit ridiculous after spending 500 for 4 people. That ruined what would have been a great night.
The service was amazing, food is great and the ambiance was excellent.
Fantastic food and atmosphere - wine prices a bit too high
It was phenomenal! Food was prepared well and came out fast. The ambiance was amazing with incredible lighting.
We where being rushed and the service was unpleasant
Everything was very good. Enjoyed the dining experience!
Trendy. Ok. I asked for a special birthday request and it was not honored. Table given was the worst in the place even thought I had a birthday date.
Great atmosphere. Drinks were good. Requested a booth and had one in less then 15 minutes. Even after we were 15 minutes late to the reservation.
The best I will definitely go back the food was amazing!!
Everything was amazing WAO
Amazing venue and a perfect night. Thank you for making our last night in NYC memorable
Always amazing. Excellent ambient and food. I always goes to Tao when in NYC.
Everything here is always great but this time our waiter was truly awful. 😠
The food, drinks and service was good. With that said we were put into a dark corner where we needed to use our phones to see the menu and the noise level was loud. I wouldn’t go back because of that.
Best time ever!
Excellent dinner at TAO Downtown, a little Vegas in NYC. Service was excellent, even though it was a full house. We did not have to wait long for our table and they were actually very accommodating since our entire party had not checked in on time. The bar and lounge area are fun to grab a drink, this restaurant is clearly for those wanting to celebrate a special occasion. The menu had a lot of variety, we had the bao buns which were excellent and the dim sum steamed dumplings. My husband tried the bronzino which was a large portion of fish and the fried rice and lo mein were equally excellent. The Buddha statue is a beautiful centerpiece and the music played has a young and party vibe. They did decorate the dessert order with birthday candles and chocolate, nice touch!!
I went for my birthday dinner and my waiter was not attentive at all. It seemed like he didn’t really want to serve my table because we were young and black. That’s how I felt, he was attentive to everyone else but our tables, because of that we didn’t tip him. I remember his name was Jeffery. I’m sorry, I didn’t get a good vibe from him and this wasn’t my first time at Tao. Everything else was great and the food was amazing. I just wish I had a better waiter, I was not treated the best on my birthday.
I had a great expeience. I look forward to returning.
Been wanting to go here for a long time but was able to get there for an early reservation. We had a nice booth on the lower level. We shared so sushi, edamame, dumpling special for apps. For dinner I had a spicy chicken dish that was very good. Others had Mongolian beef and beef with broccoli. All very tasty. For sides we had noodles, pork fried rice, Brussels sprouts and bok choy. Everything was very good and the atmosphere is cool.
Very cool place, food was good, atmosphere was great.
