Pan-Asian
Drawing strong inspiration from TAO Downtown in New York, TAO Los Angeles is a dynamic two-level space, complete with four private dining rooms and a large bar. A grand staircase connects TAO’s ground and lower level seating, creating the ultimate platform to see and be seen. The custom staircase includes round banquettes and Chinese daybed-influenced sofas. As in New York, a 20-foot tall Quan Yin statue stands atop a koi pond; using 3D projection mapping technology, Rockwell Group’s LAB designed subtle animations bring this signature statue to life. The menu, developed by Chef/Partner Ralph Scamardella, feature a diverse selection of Asian-inspired specialties, focusing on Chinese, Japanese and Thai techniques and ingredients.

We traveled to LA from Delaware for my boyfriends 33 birthday & this was our final stop. Closed out our vacation better than we could’ve imagined. Antoinette was an exceptional waitress!

It was a wonderful experience. Only issue we had was a disorganized check in process. They made us wait in a line for 30 mins past our reservation time. Food was great and our server was exceptional.

Hostess attempted to seat me and my date on the horribly ugly balcony at a table and chairs that were flush against the wall . Mind you I’m a model , I’m wearing stiletto boots that are covered in colorful jewels are you kidding? I told her I’m not sitting there and she quickly found something on the main floor right in the action. She was tryna be funny i don’t like that . Work smarter not harder
Wagyu beef was a little over cooked perhaps that why there really wasn’t much flavor but the pad Thai was on point and the watermelon mint cocktail was alright

Was nice wish the seating was next to eachother rather than across. Great food service was a little slow towards the end but the waitress noticed the delay and refunded our desert which was kind.

I really wanted to dine at Tao for my birthday dinner but kept checking OpenTable and there were no reservations available same say. Then all of a sudden, I saw a reservation for two open up for 8:30pm and grabbed it and I’m so lucky I did! It was hands down an amazing birthday dinner. From the moment we checked in we were greeted by the most awesome staff. The ambience is unmatched and stunning. The food and our server were both outstanding. Even the dessert, the donut bread pudding with the birthday candle was perfect. Thank you Tao!!!

My family had an excellent meal. The ribeye and spicy shrimp were especially wonderful, as was the mango chili martini. The room is spectacular with so many furnishings to envy. Amanda was a fabulous server and made the experience extra special!

The main reason for the good rating was good value: portions are large for this type of "Clubstaurant-light" venue and our party of 4 spent about $300 including bar/tip, which to me seems good for a dramatic but fun atmosphere, good service, and interesting (but not quite inspirational) food. Nobu, Buddakan, etc. are going to set you back more. About that food, the appetizers and noodle dishes were the best part. The potstickers, lobster tempura roll, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, and Hong Kong noodles had great flavors. Orange chicken was better executed than the sticky mess you get elsewhere but I expected more flair on this one. The Mongolian beef was strange: beware the oddly thick tomato-based sauce. We should have probably gotten the sweet and pungent shrimp. I'd say: go for a festive occasion or celebration with people who like to share dishes.

The food is very good it pan asian and it’s cooked really fast from the time of order which it a plus. The music vibe is excellent they play trendy hip hop and the staff is very professional. We did have to wait in a line after checked in for our reservation which I thought was strange. But other than that everything else I amazing. I would recommend for any occasion.

Seating wasn’t good I requested a booth although they said it wasn’t one available. The table we were seated at was like eating dinner in your living room using your couch and coffee table.

The food took forever to come. The waiter messed up our order and blamed the kitchen. This is after he didn’t write down the order and tried to memorize our order.

We had Jess as our server - she was amazing! Suggested great dishes for the table and was very attentive. Manager Alex was also great and allowed us to stick around after to get dessert in the lounge. These two made my moms visit spectacular! Thank you! Food was incredible as always!!

Tao bistro is an experience. I suggest you also check for Essex and Beauty which owned by the Tao Group. They are a little more adventurous on the culinary side (and thats a plus) than Tao Bistro but both are great.

I really enjoyed the experience, the food, drinks and the ambiance. The wait staff was great and my table was never dirty or over crowded with food. My only sorta complaint was that the staff was always walking around me in an effort to keep the dining room clean, so I get it, but the constant moment was distracting. It also created a breeze each time they walked by.

I love Tao. I have gone there many times and every time fantastic food and service. This time the food was absolutely terrible and there was no service. I wanted a glass of water but there was no sign of our waiter. They sat us next to the kitchen, they bumped into my son couple of times and very disturbing with all the servers passing. They just took our order, put the food on the table and didn’t even come once to see if we needed anything. My favorite dish sea bass skewers were so salty, but I had no choice but to eat it. The branzino was dry and fishy. The chicken potstickers was blend and served with no sauce. We got sushi, they didn’t bother to bring soy sauce with it. The cauliflower tasted different not as good as usual. Their spicy margarita was just spicy and with no flavor, the worst margarita I ever have had. I was so excited to go to Tao again and I was really disappointed.
