Really cool vibe... loud and trendy.. we had the following appetizers - tuna appetizer which was very good, pork dumplings were ok, dinners spicy chicken which was good and Pud Thai which was ok.. not much flavor to it.
I’d only recommend this restaurant for the overall experience. The atmosphere was overwhelming and completely packed for a restaurant, the food was so so and the service was horrible after they found out we weren’t having $172 duck. I probably won’t go back again.
Everything we had was GREAT except the wagyu ribeye. Ordered med-rare and came well done. Given it was also about 1/3 fat we passed on a remake and got something different. I'd just shy away from that and go with anything else as we really enjoyed the rest.
It was great!
This is second time dinning at TAO and I have had a great time. I plan to dine there again in the future 🙂
The DJ was amazing Friday night!!! The food was outstanding as always and just a festive crowd! A MUST when I’m in Chicago, which is why we book our reservations 60 days out!!!!
It was my husband’s Birthday dinner and we had an amazing time. Food and service were phenomenal! My only complaint is the two tops are SUPER close together. Normally I do not mind at all as we communal dine a lot, but the couples on either side of us were fighting so it was somewhat awkward. Glad we were in love enough for all three tables :)
Atmosphere was awesome. Visually stunning and full of energy. Waitress was very transactional and rushed us to choose our meal. We over ordered without knowing so it was disappointing she didn’t guide us through the process. Portions were very large and sushi was massive so we had way too much food. Everything we ordered was delicious
Amazing meal. The ambiance sets up what is sure to be one of the best dining experiences you will have in Chicago and beyond.
What I truly enjoy is the consistency in the experience of dining at Tao. Every sense is awakened and touched upon. The design is stunning and does not disappoint. The music is a good vibe. The staff is knowledgeable and efficient. I love the menu and the quality of the selections is excellent. However the valet parking is awful. I would definitely recommend Tao to my friends and family...and have returned several times since they opened. There is consistency in the experience, and will see you again very soon!...Thank you1
Great food! We had a great time. Awesome ambiance.
Service was bad, the food was bad. My peking duck cost $72 enough for 2 peoples and it didnt taste good like I expected. Quality of the duck was so bad. This is the first time that I paid for my dinner but I am really upset. It not just about the money, its about the time i waited more than an hour and waitress keep forgetting what did I order!
Wonderful Time!!! We really enjoyed our dinner and will definitely return. Thank you
Great place with amazing food. Plus super nice staff
Fantastic place. would definitely go there again.....................................................................3242
Every item we ordered was positively delicious. We had a spicy tuna sushi roll to share for the 3 of us, and we each got a satay of chilean sea bass (amazing), brussel sprouts were quite good (we ordered the cauliflower but they were sold out). We got the steamed dumplings which were tasty. We each got a lamb chop which were delicious. The mongolian beef had a very unique and delicious flavor. The thai sweet and spicy shrimp was very good- maybe just a little too much breading. Then we got dessert, the delicious bread pudding donuts, which we paid for, (that's ok, I guess they must have made a corporate decision that they don't offer a complementary dessert for celebrating a special ocassion, like most restaurants do.) They did put a candle in it , but again, when it was served, the server didn't say anything, like Happy Anniversary. When we first arrived we were greeted with Happy Anniversary wish from the hosts, but nothing was said by the server the entire night. I assumed he wasn't made aware of it. The service started off very strange. We sat for 10 minutes before the server approached us. I saw him pass our table a few times and her never said anything. We did get water pretty quickly after we sat down, but then nothing for 10 minutes seemed a little odd. So a 5 for the food, and a 3 for the service.
I loved the experience. The food wasn't all that great for the price. I loved the banana pudding.
Wonderful service and great night out with the girls
Wonderful experience. Must say that the service I received was great however the staff kept apologizing. So for me that was great, they recognize when something is not right and immediately correct it. But the food was amazing and the martinis are strong but on point🔥
We loved it!
The food was very good along with pricing and the beauty of the this restaurant
Some of the best orange chicken I have had .
The drinks were very reasonably priced .
Was given two passes to the nightclub next door to celebrate my wife's birthday
Great sound system and lighting . Beautiful staff and knowledgeable security personal and friendly.
Thank you for a great experience.
Suggestions were wonderful from the staff and everyone was kind and accommodating.
Loved the Food, Service and Ambiance
Tao Chicago never fails to impress! Incredible experience really for any occasion.
Fun place, extensive menu, fun bar scene , and very good service.
Granddaughter going home for Thanksgiving. Love the food and atmosphere, but am always reluctant to guarantee with credit card. It puts restaurants on my rabbit list!
Other then the rude host, everything was great
The food was great, as always. Service was a little slow given we were there way before the "rush".
Awesome dining experience, great service, food, and ambiance...
Waited over 45 mins past our reservation time to get seated . It appears to be a high end restaurant although the service doesn’t match that
After having been told by a lot of people to go to Tao, finally decided to give this place a try! Had a reservation for 9:45pm. Since the place was packed, we were still made to wait close to 40 minutes before we got our table. The atmosphere, the ambience was fantastic! Such good vibes! Coming to the food and drinks - on point! We had such a good time! Really enjoyed my night here!
Great! The food was delicious.
Thankfully, the cuisine and our server was very good. However, I had a reservation for six people and waited 50 minutes for the table. Each time I inquired about the time, the host was unable to give me an answer other than they will be providing us with a "beautiful table" and we would love it.
I celebrated my 32nd birthday and we had a blast! two thumbs up!
Food as overall very salty
Friendly staff, great food, awesome atmosphere !!!
Wow! What a room! It’s kind of awe inspiring and massive. Very cool setting. The food I felt was good but not great but if I were more of a seafood person I may have felt different. I had the orange chicken which was good but I could get at any Chinese food place. I will say the Giant Fortune Cookie dessert was amazing, stuffed with 2 kinds of mousse and fruit piled in front of it. Beautifully presented. Would definitely go back.
The price point does not meet the standard and quality set by other restaurants in Chicago.
We went for a date night while we are visiting Chicago for the weekend. We had a great waitress and loved the ambiance.
