Good food. Disappointed with poor seating and lack of recognizing special occasion.
The food was good but nothing special. We thought there would be a small dessert acknowledgement of the birthday celebration, but we just got a happy birthday when we first got seated.
The Chilean sea bass appetizer was excellent! The lobster fried rice was also a good choice. I will definitely visit Tao again. 😋
Great food.. Great Service..
A tad bit to loud.. You have to yell so people can hear you.
Tao was absolutely amazing! The food, service, and ambience was everything we had hoped for. We took our staff for a night out and they loved it and can’t stop talking about it!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!
The atmosphere was terrific, everything was was top rate
Emily was an amazing server. Thank you for having the right people to promote your brand!
Really great food but had a reservation for 9:15 and came in early to get seated at about 8:55... didn’t get my seat until a little after 10. They kept saying they were just cleaning a table off but I realized that as time went by that was clearly untrue. My group was finally seated and we were given a free drink card, but after waiting so long to be seated can I really appreciate the meal? Probably won’t be back due to that issue.
Always a great dinner! The food is amazing and a great energy in the whole place. A bit pricy but worth it for special nights out
The food was wonderful, especially the lobster wontons. The service was subpar, if that. There were many delays throughout our time there, our server wasn’t consistent w checking in. It wasn’t extremely busy at the time, so I’m not sure what was causing the delays. Server was also very unprofessional in handling payment. Sadly, we won’t be going back.
Come here for my sisters birthday. The food and service could not have been any better. Also, the Lychee Martinis are a must!
Overall it was nice but felt very rushed. The staff took plates away with food still on them. Very nice place with decent food but not worth it overall
Very good but small table practically joined by the table next to it. Also it was an anniversary dinner and they didn’t do anything special, like comp a drink or dessert
Ambiance was wonderful. Noise level moderate. Great for date and night outing. My host was polite but didn’t give us the right information on the menu and we had to order multiple times because the portion we got was small. Otherwise my experiment was great and I hope I get a better food selection when I visit next.
Beautiful setting. The food was good, but the service was very rushed.
I was excited to dine a Tao for my birthday and made note on my reservation that this was a celebration dinner. The hostesses were gracious and welcoming, and we were seated at one of the booths along the entry stairs - very cool view of the restaurant! We opted for a chef’s selection experience, and with limited dietary restrictions and a request for sashimi, we were excited for our dining adventure to begin.
Maybe my expectations were a little too high. Having dined with chef’s choice options at places like Nobu Las Vegas, I was hopping for better service and a thoughtful and paced progression through plates.
Our dishes were hastily brought out in pairs and dropped at the table without any explanation of what we were being served. Our server stopped by to check ‘if everything was ok’ but didn’t spend any time detailing our courses.
Our food was good but not great. Unfortunately nothing really stood out. The ahi pringles were fun but when served after heavier dishes, they were too light and unremarkable. In the end, we agreed that we would have had a better experience by selecting our own menu and ordering plates at our own pace.
And any acknowledgement of my birthday other than by the seating hostess? None. Would I go again? Maybe with a group or at someone’s request.
I had a wonderful time. The food was great and so was the entire experience.
This place deserves all the hype it gets. The interior is simply amazing, you’d see people taking pictures almost all the time. Apart from the decor the ambience is good too with a subtle party vibe. The food to my surprise was delicious and worth the bucks and so were the drinks because usually with places like this you get the short straw with the food/drinks as either the portions are small or they don’t taste good. Would recommend the fortune cookie dessert for the table to close the night out!
Everything from the food to the service to the ambiance was amazing. It was our first time and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Chicken satay, chilli pepper chicken and beef & broccoli were all delicious. The Tao old fashioneds were great as well! We had a great night and our server was very attentive and friendly.
My boyfriend and I visited TAO Chicago in March 2019 and February 2020. Our experience in 2019 was amazing in every way, but fast forward to 2020, and the experience was very different. We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and were given a buzzer. We went to the bar to wait, and we were hesitant to order drinks, thinking it would only be a short wait. In total, we ended up waiting there for at least 30 mins. There was no acknowledgement before being directed to the bar or as we were seated that the staff was apologetic for our wait or that this was anything out of the ordinary. I will say, our waitress at the bar was very attentive. We were lucky to have her because we witnessed others in the area being very curt with fellow coworkers and customers, which was unpleasant to say the least.
We were seated and immediately noticed the table we were at was wobbly, and not just a little. For a place like TAO, this seems like a large oversight given the ambiance they are trying to cultivate. We are vegetarian and noted this with our reservation. Our server didn't seem super knowledgeable about the options available to us on the menu, but did eventually provide us with some options. Then when our food came out (we ordered a vegetable roll and tempura to start) there were no soy sauce saucers to dip our rolls in. We tried to flag down our server, but she disappeared for long stretches of time and was not very attentive. We finally gave up and sprinkled soy sauce direct from the bottle as we ate.
In the end, these all might seem like small issues, and to be fair, the food never disappointed; but given the price tag and lux experience TAO promises, our second visit was pretty disappointing. We would be willing to give it another try down the line, but it definitely seemed like the location has taken a turn since our last visit. Hopefully they can improve on the service in the future.
Fantastic food and a great experience. Would recommend
My friends and I wanted to get together and had never eaten here before but heard great things. We showed up, grabbed a seat at the bar and had a glass of wine before our reservation. We were shown to our seats on time and the waitress did a wonderful job of explaining the menu and giving recommendations. We decided to eat Family-Style and ordered the Spicy Tuna Tartare on Crispy Rice, Lobster Wontons, and Hong Kong Noodle for starters. The portions were perfect for 3 people. I loved all three but have to say my personal favorite was the Hong Kong Noodles. We were still hungry enough to order a main dish so we ordered the Thai Sweet and Spicy Shrimp which was also phenomenal. I loved the food so much but I wish the lighting were a bit brighter and the music a little softer. Overall, an amazing place to go with friends, family, and significant others.
Had a great time. Although our reservation was pushed out an hour. It was understandable due to the nature that it was All Star weekend and the events had just ended. Would definitely recommend this location to others when coming into town.
The waiter was attentive, service was excellent and the director of operations just kept the party going. Ordered a bit of everything and the food did not disappoint.
Everything was perfect! Food, staff, ambiance, drinks, and vibe!! Dj was a perfect touch!
Food is always great - atmosphere is 9/10 the best. However, I made this reservation a month in advance and over the phone request main floor seating - we were placed up in a corner above the main dining area that felt like a closet.
Had a wonderful time!!! The food was phenomenal and as a first timer the service was outstanding when explaining the menu!
It was very enjoyable
My besties and I came here for a birthday dinner celebration and had a great experience I would definitely come here again! The food was delish and our waitress was amazing.
It was great ambience, great service and nice food . We loved it
TAO opened on time. We were seated right away. Great ambiance, my group just kept look around. We can't wait to come back. The sushi had a lil kick to it but was sooo good!
Everything was great from the valet to the waiter to the food & drinks! Excellent vibe and wonderful ambiance!!
Food was good. But service was really bad. Our reservation was for 9:15 pm we arrive there 10min early and had to wait about 1 hour and a half to get our table. That is totally UNACCEPTABLE
Food was amazing but it took them 55 minutes after our reservation to get us seated. Drinks were okay and the hostess comped a round of our drinks because it took so long. Wait was ridiculous.
The food was very good! And the ambiance was upscale. I cannot wait to return!
The TAO team always takes good care of us. The customer service, food and ambiance is second to none.
Service, if any, was not attentive
Fantastic BETTER than Vegas Location. D
Peking Duck Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
