TAO Chicago offers guests a sensual trip through the cuisines of Asia. The design-driven restaurant and adjoining nightclub is inspired by the original TAO locations in New York City, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

TAO Chicago features multiple levels, creating dynamic spaces within the historic building’s shell, while adding TAO’s Asian-influenced DNA to the restaurant, lounge and nightclub including murals by artist Hush and TAO’s signature 16-foot-tall Quan Yin statue anchoring one end of the dining room.

TAO Chicago’s restaurant menu, created by TAO Group Partner and Chef Ralph Scamardella , is complete with Pan-Asian offerings from the sea, sky and land including signature dishes like Satay of Chilean Sea Bass, Crispy Rice Tuna and a Wagyu Rib-Eye.

    Celebrated my niece’s 18th bday here and it was fantastic. Had been to Tao in Vegas so I had high expectations — Chicago did not disappoint! The food was amazing. Our group ordered approximately 10 different items and honestly loved them all. Ambience was spot on, the perfect energetic vibe with beautiful decor. And the service was too notch. Highly recommend!

    The decor is sumptuous and the ambiance is sophisticated yet, relaxed. We came on a Thursday night at 7.30. While there were many empty tables, we were asked to wait at the bar. Once seated, our waitress was rather prompt to greet us however, we waited quite a bit for her to take our food order. Then, we almost never saw our waitress for the rest of the meal. I ordered a glass of Sancerre (it was a simple simple Sauvignon Blanc, not a Sancerre, trust me I know my wines), which came 15 minutes after my entree was served. I turned towards the manager a few times trying to inquire about my wine, but he never made eye contact. The dc food was good but overpriced. My overall impression was that the restaurant was understaffed that evening and that the prices are inflated compared to the quality of the cuisine.

    Took my out of town friend here and I’ve never had any problems. We sat at the bar and the bartender was rude and inattentive. My first drink I ordered, the glass had lipstick stains on it that weren’t mine so I kindly asked for a new drink and he didn’t even say sorry or really acknowledge the dirty glass. He never checked in on us when we got our food and we waited at least 15 minutes to ask him in passing for soy sauce. Then he asked if I wanted another drink, I confirmed and he never brought it. Additionally the happy hour menu has gone downhill from what it used to be and isn’t worth it anymore as they have reduced the portion sizes. This has been a disappointing experience overall.

    They are still working out kinks. No plates at buffets. Empty platters of desserts (also unmarked so you didn’t know what they were.).

    The overall experience of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The food was extremely small portions and very poor quality. We had to return the pad Thai it was the worst I have ever had in my entire life.

    First half of meal was amazing! Food, drinks, service all great! About halfway through our meal, waitress disappeared and we waited for over an hour for any more drinks, dessert ordering, or just the check! There is no integration between the other staff with assisting tables that need service. If we would’ve had a better waitress or teamwork between our table and other tables we would have rated this experience a 10/10. Unfortunately bad service is a 1/10 and we will not be back.

    Super sexy dining experience. Had the waygu skewers and lobster wontons for appetizers. Delish. Topped it off with the spicy yellowtail roll. Also very good.
