We really enjoyed the food and the service. Hamachi appetizer is a must if you love raw fish!
Some of the best sushi in Miami! The Maki Monday deal is also amazing along with their Happy Hour deals on food, will definitely be back!!
food was great. service was not. sat outside & wouldn’t recommend that because it felt like we were forgotten. sat 15 minutes without being initially served then checked on once after. just poor customer service. servers were nice when we saw them like twice. the food was very good- but cannot give it five stars after the poor service.
It was a great experience with high quality food. Server was slow and forgetting orders. Next time I will sit at the bar.
We had a 10:15pm reservation and showed up on time. When we arrived, the hostess said that they closed at 10:30pm and that we would have to order immediately or preferably would do take-out. It was ridiculous that we could make a 10:15pm reservation for a restaurant that closed at 10:30pm. We lost the money we paid for parking and had dinner elsewhere. Furthermore, the hostess said the restaurant was not in charge of the reservation system and the issue was beyond their control. I find that hard to believe, but it was frustrating nonetheless. Terrible experience.
Very good food and good service
The staff was a bit rude. I normally don’t write reviews because as a server I understand a lot is out of your control. I don’t mind having to be out by a certain time to turn the tables but the host constantly reiterated it at check in and at the table saying I needed to have my order ready by the time the waiter came. Still didn’t mind. After 40 minutes passed (of our hour time limit) we asked where my friends dumplings were as it had been a while. The waiter came back and said the kitchen messed up and that he could re ring it in for us and just said “sorry”. We had somewhere to be and didn’t have time to wait on top of the table time limit. He didn’t really do anything to make it right for my friend and didn’t seem to care at all. My friend didn’t get to eat.
Saturday they have a brunch buffet menu (with bottom less mimosa for additional $20). The buffet was restrictive due to Covid. They allowed us to have all the appetizers but one entree per person. The appetizers were really good and delicious. The dishes were modern and packed a good amount of punch. However the entree was terrible. The Thai curry had no flavor and my friends Singapore needles was dry. We were extremely disappointed with the entree hence a bad rating!!!
Food and service was absolutely terrible ans super expensive.
Excellent happy hour great service.
Food was great, came out fast. Service was good. Drinks were fun. Very spaced out and has outdoor seating.
Pretty average food/ sushi. Service was the best part of the experience.
Great food and awesome happy hour but the tables inside are close together not 6ft apart
We went here on a Friday night. The food was very disappointing. Plan ahead and go to one of the much better Japanese restaurants in Miami.
The service was very slow in the beginning.
Service was fantastic and the food was AMAZING!!! First time coming here and I will for sure be coming back.
Excellent food, good prices on wine and prosecco, and good service. Ambiance was very nice, music was loud but not annoying, place has a good vibe and you wont pay what you usually do in south beach. Highly recommended !
Waiter did not put in half our order, dident tell us till the end of our meal when we were waiting for an hour
Great service & ambiance.
Peking duck & truffle scallops were very good. Would’ve liked to try the green tea dessert but sold out - chocolate was still tasty!
In case you didn't know, Tanuki has the most delicious and fresh sushi and meals in the area. Maybe the best in all of South Florida. The service is exceptional and flavors burst with joy in your mouth!!!
What can I say amazing Food and even better customer service from the greeter to especially the GM’s and server!
My entire family loves going to Tanuki as it is consistently a great experience.🙏😎
Excellent in every way
they let dogs inside. not hygienic.
Delicious food and great service!
Everything was great but the serve was terrible. He’s a tall guy and would NEVER come by our table we would have to get up and ask the manager who was amazing at turning over the situation and making us feel better. Throughout that he wouldn’t come by and would take forever to bring us our drinks and it would take even longer to see him and order them. It’s not that they were even that busy. He was just that rude.
And I live in Miami Beach so I frequently go there and 7 times over gone, 4 times I have gotten that serve. Terrible.
Overall a good experience and I would go again
The restaurant doesn’t do anything to enforce masks and social distancing. We asked to be seated outside because of COVID concerns and got the table closest to the door. There were 15 people at times standing at the door waiting to be seated.... ALL of them without masks. Totally ruining our dinner because we were so worried .
Food was underwhelming and overpriced on top of just being mediocre. The service was not very good either. Took about a half hour to get our first drink. Would not return
New Years Eve - made a reservation and when we arrived they put us at the bar so that they could find us a table. They brought one in from outside, told us we could seat ourselves when we were done paying the bar tab and then we sat at our table for 30+ mins before the hostess came to see if we had been helped. Our dinner was rushed and then we were asked to leave because they were closing for the night.
The food was excellent.
Went for the NYE dinner. The food was okay nothing to rave about. The wagyu was disgusting it was drenched in bbq sauce. I don’t know why someone would ruin a steak that doesn’t need any sauce like that. Now the service was horrible I never experienced such a horrible service before. They dropped the food at the table without saying a word or explaining what it was. The server after taking our drink order at the beginning didn’t say a word throughout the whole dinner which took a little over 2 hours. We couldn’t even order second round of cocktails or order coffee or champagne since it was NYE with our dessert.
Was here for the 9pm NYE tasting menu. At $108 per pers plus $48 drink pairing I was expecting a better experience. We arrived shortly before 9 and were seated promptly. We did not see our server until about 20 minutes later. We kept getting our drinks at least 10-15 minutes and once even a half hour before the food course came. Given that many of the courses were paired with chilled wines they would be warm before the food arrived.
The whole experience was poorly executed but the food was mostly good. The only course of food that was subpar was the A5 waygu course. It came out colder than it should and probably wasn’t as good as it could have been.
The proverbial icing on the cake was the dessert course. In the days of covid you would expect a higher standard of cleanliness but they brought out a dirty plate. Unacceptable.
I’d come back for a normal meal since the food was good but never again for a tasting menu as they have proven they do not have the skills to execute such a service.
Ordered a 7 course meal pre fixe on NYE. Only got 6 courses and they could not keep track of the drink pairings as well. I think it was the NYE rush and it was busy and we were on the tail end of the first round of the menu but I feel like getting all of the courses is a minimum requirement.
Sushi was very fresh but everything else was just ok. Drinks were awesome.
Food has an interesting twist on classic Asian dishes. Sushi was just OK. Noisy place. Was very busy when we were there. So service was very slow and waiter was not attentive to our table.
Mixed bag...food is very good. But service is usually poor...and the service is included in your bill. We had to practically beg for our food...and they don't pace the courses... which can be annoying. If none of that bothers you...worth a try for the food.
Loved the food and vibe. However there were lots of fruit gnats flying around our food and drinks.
Food and service was amazing as always! Tanuki is one of the best Asian options, if not the Best, on the Beach hands down! My family and I Love all the dishes and each time we discover new ones!!
Great service. Very welcoming. Food came out quickly and it was tasty. Really good tuna tatami and sashimi platter. Curry was good - maybe a little thicker consistency would be better but good flavor. All the staff very friendly - a nice change from some Miami Beach experiences.
Awesome food and customer service!
