Tante's Fish Market
Great food and really nice server. Will go again for sure.
Food was cold, server was just barley doing her job. Manager gave us a small discount. If you are looking for a nice night out this is not your place.
It was my birthday and we noted that when we made our reservation but it was not acknowledged. We also had to wait a bit despite having a reservation. We had a late reservation so we missed out on the ocean view (too dark to see it) but the food was good and overall we had a nice time. My husband really enjoyed the oysters.
They were out of Ono. The quality of food was marginal at best. The ahi that we ordered was not prepared the way we requested- simply seared. It looked steamed and server insisted it was seared. Overall, we would never go back nor recommend it.
This is the perfect restaurant. They have something for everyone at a price that is reasonable. The quality of their food is unparalleled. Such delicious offerings! My personal favorites were the pork belly lechon plate and the seared ahi salad. My son loved the fish & chips and the calamari. The staff was attentive and helpful. My suggestion is to make a reservation because this place is always, always packed! We probably ate here four times and took food out a couple of times. We just couldn't get enough of their food!
Skip it. Horrible manager. Marginal and slow service. Very loud bar crowd. Nothing but issues last 4 times we have eaten there and we are local. Sad because it's a nice view and location. The owners should REALLY contact me for details to fix their business.
Terrible food. I was not expecting that considering the reviews and prices. Everything was bland, like hospital food. The fish and lobster were overcooked and didn’t taste fresh. So tough.
Booth was really dirty. Caked on food along the wall. Yuck.
*Service was great! View was great.*
Very good meals, delicious desserts, extremely attentive service. They only had ahi and ono when we went and I had already had my fill of those two on this trip. So I went with Loco Moco. Beef and eggs were perfectly cooked. My wife had a Kalua pork sandwich which was very good but the bbq sauce is very sweet. My daughters had a prime rib French dip and a burger. Both were very happy. Only disappointment, our server added gratuity to a party of 4 and didn’t mark it. I’m a good tipper and that only makes me tip less than usual. We will definitely go back but I had to share the irritation.
Friends visiting from mainland. They loved the food. Our food was also so ono. Always good food and good service.
I never saw my waitress after I ordered. I had to ask for a water refill and then wait. I thought that the windows overlooking the bay were dirty. I purchased lobster tail. It was excellent!
Poor menu and preparation
Great food, great service, awesome happy hour deals. Overall good experience. Try the tempura shrimp, so delicious.
Great food and great service from Joe. Too full for dessert bc the fish portions were excellent size so we are going back for sure!
AUWE! Had high expectations for this place. Was very disappointed. Wanted sushi but apparently sushi chef was on vacation so no sushi. Ordered some appetizers but didn't have any place settings at our table. Entrées were sub par and luke warm when they arrived. For the price you're paying for your food, I expected a lot more. You probably would've gotten better quality food at your local plate lunch restaurant. Server was a sweet girl. That's probably the only positive thing going for this restaurant. Take your money and dine somewhere else.
Fresh catch of the day was great. We ate outside and it was pleasant. Waitress was great!
Oysters here are awesome. Staff seemed a little frustrated but was overall friendly. The #1 issue with this place is cleanliness. There are bugs both alive in bed around tables and on ledges... it needs deep cleaning with degreaser for sure. It seems they clean the tables with something that makes it sticky. The bathrooms need upgrading/serious refurbishment.
Skip this restaurant. Think banquet food with seafood. I ordered the ahi tuna panang style - the tuna was cooked through and the attempted panang sauce (because this was not a curry) lacked flavor. My husband ordered the seafood trio with garlic mashed potatoes - there was no flavor in the potatoes - no salt, no garlic, nothing. If you want to eat airplane food in a restaurant, then this is your spot. Service was great, but the food is awful. Given Maui pricing, you are way better off eating anywhere else - this food was not worth the price we paid.
Food was quite food. We had a 4:00 pm reservation and arrived 15 min early. Asked for a table with view and was told Restaurant was at 50 percent capacity. So they couldn’t accommodate the request. Didn’t make a whole lot of sense since it was at 50 percent. Food trumped the location of our dining experience. That would have made it more enjoyable. Service was pretty good. First impressions are ever- lasting, host made my meal not as memorable as it could have been.
A nice local place, if not for Covid you probably would not need a reservation here. Good sized portions, and the drinks were good. A good choice.
We had a great experience. The wait staff was excellent-very attentive and accommodating. Food was very good. I had the Mahi and it was delicious. There was something for all of us to enjoy (family of 6). Highly recommend.
Great food! Has my favorite local fish. Good prices, lots of food for the cost. Nice location and view!
Great with special request to accommodate food allergies. Great server.
My first time here - a good experience. started out with a half dozen oysters – – they were large, plump, and had a nice briney flavor. I had the Seafood Luau, which was prepared with coconut milk. For the money, it was a very good entrée. The seafood was fresh, and the flavor was excellent. The chicken teriyaki kept it from an additional star — nothing to write home about. I’ll be returning.
Servers were friendly and efficient. Fish was probably fresh but overcooked. Part of the food was unrecognizable and oily. Going there with the expectation of fresh, simply prepared fish will leave you disappointed.
The place is overrated. I wouldn't try it again.
Server very friendly. Ambience terrible- food presentation awful, fish fresh, busy nothing special and very expensive for overall (taste-presentation). Sides were terribel
The portions are large, so come hungry!
Food quality was terrible. Service was ok. This was the worst place we dined at during our week long trip to Maui. Very disappointing. The food was either too salty, too fishy tasting, or bland. Expected super fresh fish. Would not recommend.
Food was quite good. Coconut shrimp appetizer was excellent. Service was great. Had a nice view of the harbor.
The best coconut shrimp of my life! Everything was very good, only thing I noticed is we ordered our steaks medium but they were more medium well. They were still very good. Our waitress was amazing, she switched from lunch menu to dinner menu to us and was very attentive. Our drinks never ran out. The Mai Tai’s were great as well! Would definitely recommend.
Frozen fish, farmed oysters and they call themselves a fish house? Gordon Ramsey they need you!!!
Server was very accommodating . Pork bellie, boneless short ribs were delicious.
We always have such delicious food at Tantes. It is a popular spot for dining so you might want to make reservations. If you do make reservations be sure to double check the host "checks" you in or you will not get Open table dining rewards. This time Tantes checked us in, but yesterday we went with out of town friends and I still do not see my reservation confirmed. Hope Tantes can fix this so I feel good about making further reservations. Mahalo,
Awesome! Everything our server suggested was amazing!
Food was great and fast! Maria was so nice!
We decided to come before Mother’s Day and made reservations for Saturday instead to avoid the crowds. The service was slow.
Did not like. Reviews were ok for inexpensive meal option so thought it would be good. We ordered lobster tail and the strip steak so we could split meals. Their Surf and Turf option for $29 was with a sirloin steak. We wanted the better steak so just ordered two separate meals to share.
We should have saved the money and ordered their combo as the “prime” strip we ordered simply had no flavor and was tough.
Regretted going there for dinner and wasting money.
Tante’s is great! The fresh fish is the freshest and it’s a great value.
I would suggest they work on upgrading or enhancing their margaritas, and use fresh ingredients to do it!
My fiancé’s birthday was a smash! Food came fast, drinks came faster and the waitress was amazing. We had an excellent evening watching the sunset overlooking the peaceful harbor and enjoying the delicious food. Very nice!
It was my husband’s birthday and it was nice
