Tanta has two Chef’s Tables that each seat up to 10 people. These tables are located in our main dining room in between our open kitchen and cebiche bar which allows you and your guests to experience our chefs creating Peruvian cuisine while you dine.
The menu, created by Acurio and Tanta Chicago Chef Jesus Delgado, takes diners on a voyage through Peru via its food. From the Pacific Ocean, through the Andes, to the desert, to the Amazon, Tanta celebrates the diverse landscape and ethnicities that make up Peru’s culture.

High-end Peruvian food that will cost you a bit but is worth the price.
The food was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the ceviche. Can't wait to go back.
Excellent food, great service, will definitely be back and recommend to friends
Uno de los mejores restaurantes en Chicago.
Tanta has so many unique dishes. Excellent food with rich flavors. The venue is also very nice and cozy.
I had been to one of the original Acurio group restaurants in Peru last month which was exceptional and so I was excited about going to Tanta. We booked a week in advance. The day before we tried to extend our 7:30 reservation from 4 to 5 people and was told it was impossible unless we wanted to come at 5 or 9 instead. When we arrived, the hostess was being badgered by a walk in couple who wanted a table. After several minutes of ignoring us, she eventually gave them a prime table in the front of the restaurant. When she returned to seat us, all she would offer us was a table in the back next to the bussing station which is exceptionally busy given the number of small plates served. There was also a round top that would have sat 5 but that was out of the question. That pretty much ruined the mood for us. We had a couple of Pisco Sours. Nice decorations but too much egg white and bitters. Seviche was good but not amazing. Corn cake also nice. Rest was pretty standard. Decided not to bother with main courses. A far cry from what we had in Peru or the tapas placed we dined at the night before.
Don't bother until they replace the front of house staff.
Delicious food, awesome cocktails and excellent service! This is one of my top places to go now in Chicago!
INVITÉ A 4 AMIGAS Y LES ENCANTÓ. LA MESERA FUE SUPER PACIENTE Y MUY AGRADABLE PARA EXPLICARLES TODO EL MENÚ. NO ME GUSTÓ LA MÚSICA. DELICIOSA COMIDA.
Made reservations months before. Got seated and upstairs in a weird room with one large party. But food was great. Definitely was upset missed the ambiance of downstairs.
Normal place with good cocktails. A break from the normal places and first time here.
Delicious food, attentive staff, great drinks!
Having eaten my way across Peru I can say that this is as good as it gets after having left Lima. Ceviches and tiraditos were fresh, spicy, interesting and varied. The main courses included several different culinary traditions within Peru, with Chinese, Japanese and Quechua influences. Service was attentive, informative and just laid back enough. Great meal.
Awesome Drinks !
It was pleasure celebrate my birthday at tanta !!! The food was amaizing and the pisco sour delicious!!!!! Well done Tanta
Great Peruvian food. Authentic flavors. High quality and tasty food.
Food was fine. The brunch ceviche was a tad too sour, so it killed the other flavors... and I like sour. The brunch calamari was the same--sourness killed the squid ink. The chicken-rice dish from the regular menu was pretty good, and the rice paired well with the sourness of the two other dishes. The pork rice dish looked nice but tasted like food court pan asian fried rice--oily. Chicken empanada was good. I would come and try other empanadas but wouldn't really be interested in much else.
Grilled octopus was amazing. Chaufa aeroporta was excellent. Tuna cebiche was great. The Hansell wine was the only disappointment. Service was excellent.
We love the restaurant. If you are at all interested in Peruvian food (and fabulous (Pisco Sours), you must come here.
Food was excellent and unique. We enjoyed the Peruvian cuisine. It was very expensive so we give it lower scores for value.
The food was great, ambiance on the rooftop patio was perfect. We had great attentive staff, really, what more could you ask for.
Tanga never disappoints. Love this restaurant! Staff is friendly, attentive, and the food is flavorful and fantastic. Their signature smokey, spicy cocktail is a must! (I forget the name.)
We had a great time. Our fellow guests were delighted with the dishes.
Great date night, very original dishes and amazing cocktails. Will definitely be back
Tanta is one of my go-to favorite restaurants in Chicago. Great atmosphere, delicious and inventive dishes, and attentive service. I've never been disappointed!
Solid and diverse menu, attentive service by our server- Alex, a quick kitchen, and amazing drinks. Plus, the rooftop makes for a wonderful date night.
disappointed that the rooftop was closed for Sunday brunch. Valet was $15.00
Absolutely amazing food. Insane good. I'm not normally one to try different things, but Tanta, changed me. Myself and four of my friends went there to celebrate a birthday. I told my wife me and her are going back and I will continue to go as long as they remain open for business. I still can't stop thinking of how good that food was.
Made a reservation on open table for 7:30 but didn’t get a table till 8 we had a concert so timing was crucial hostess apologized but others coming in apparently wanted different seating not sure why that affected our reservation?
Entrees were good and priced reasonably but disappointed by appetizers
My mom was in town and I’m new to Chicago and this place was AMAZING. The food was truly incredible and so was the drink i had. And the ambiance was awesome. HIGHLY recommend.
Some of the food was very good as were the drinks. My biggest issue was they had a very fattening red sauce on everything we ordered. Would suggest asking to limit the sauce.
Have been wanting try this place for a while and must say we were not disappointed. Service was great and food came in phases and quickly as we had asked for. Everything tasted amazing and the portions are really generous. So go with an appetite. Presentation was top notch as well and all of this without breaking the bank
Really excellent service and lovely rooftop atmospheres
The seafood dishes we had were outstanding--some of the best we have ever had! We were seated on the rooftop in a cozy corner--just what my husband and I had hoped for. Service was excellent as well!
The rooftop bar is fantastic, the food fabulous, the wait staff friendly and helpful.... this place is the real Peruvian deal!
The food was great but there was too cold in the room. We asked many times for turning the temperature a bit low, but they didn’t.
The food here was great and the service was attentive! Would recommend as a great place for a weekday dinner or for any occasion really!
Great food took our daughters boyfriend out for his birthday - he was in town for business all 3 of us ordered the beef tenderloin - love the rooftop- not too noisy on a Monday night - great sx and nice drinks
Our second time at TANTAS
Food was great with amazing flavors! Beautiful rooftop patio! The chocolate mousse we had for dessert was one of the best ones I’ve had when the toasted quinoa.
Just a wonderful meal and experience. The food and service were terrific and the roof top bar was a great way to end the night. Definitely recommend to try something outside your comfort zone and be amazed.
Awesome food, just not much of it for the price.
Very enjoyable experience. Good service without being intrusive, creative cocktails and all the dishes we had were very savory and well presented. Would definitely visit again.
