Tanta has two Chef’s Tables that each seat up to 10 people. These tables are located in our main dining room in between our open kitchen and cebiche bar which allows you and your guests to experience our chefs creating Peruvian cuisine while you dine.
The menu, created by Acurio and Tanta Chicago Chef Jesus Delgado, takes diners on a voyage through Peru via its food. From the Pacific Ocean, through the Andes, to the desert, to the Amazon, Tanta celebrates the diverse landscape and ethnicities that make up Peru’s culture.

Stumbled upon tanta for an impromptu date night and we were very pleased with our experience overall. The food was amazing along with the drinks, we plan to make this a regular spot. We of course had some cebiche and followed that with a curry sauce salmon dish that is to die for.

Loved the food and the place. Hadn't been to Tanta since it first opened. While I loved the food the first time, it was way too loud at dinner to have an easy conversation with my dinner partners. This time, I tried lunch. Much quieter. The food and its presentation was just terrific. A great meal and a special birthday present for me!

Food, as always, superb. Menu requires some concierge interpretation and guidance by server, which I’ve had great luck with on 3 previous visits. Not this time. Our server was not up to the volume and energy required to help 6 new customers orient to the menu. She was competent but not engaged, which most customers need with Tanya’s innovative menu. Also: NOISY!!
Our greatest motivation is to make our customers feel at ease, so we appreciate your observation, and we get to work on always be prepared to guide and orient our guests with their dinning experience. Overall, the food was delicious-ordered the ceviche norte*no, scallops, octopus and salmon; If I return, I will definitely re-order the ceviche and scallops. The other dishes were really tasty as well, but the scallops and ceviche stood out the most!

4+ years ago my now wife and I had our first date at Tanta. So glad to see that after coming here for many years that the quality and ambiance that we fell in love with has stayed. Hopefully in the coming years we're able to frequent this wonderful restaurant.
Our family of four enjoyed sharing a variety of wonderful dishes—the ceviche sampler and the empanadas were favorites!

We had been to Tanta once before - for lunch - several years ago, and I had always dreamed of returning. The Pisco Sours (yes, we each had 2 & splurged for the "reserve") were fantastic. The food? What can I say? So many wonderful flavors, starting with the dipping sauce for the addictive yucca chips, and continuing throughout the meal ... just layers and layers of flavors you cannot find at any other type of restaurant. Can't wait to enjoy it again some day - hopefully soon.
Maybe we ordered the wrong items on the menu but found the mixed fried seafood particularly bland, the skewers were good but other dishes lacked flavor. Should have tried the ceviche.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago!
Went with a group of 4 on a Saturday night. The front of the house accommodated our request for a booth with a little wait at the bar. Our server, Jeimmy, was very friendly, fun and took time to walk us through the menu as well as making some very good recommendations. The service was quick and consistent. The food was excellent! I'd recommend trying many of the small plates. Would definitely recommend to a friend and can't wait to go back!

The noise level made conversation impossible.
Loved everything about it. Started off with a pisco sour and mezcal cocktail, both excellent. Food highlights include everything, but particularly recommended are the pulpo, scallop (just don't eat the bed of salt.... Ask me later), and El macho cocktail (something smokey and delicious in there). The cebiche (ceviche) is great, but it goes beyond your typical chunked seafood in a bowl of line juice and cilantro. They incorporate different textures, colors, piece sizes, to make it unique and interesting. Be sure to drink down the juice at the end, aka tigers milk, to replenish your vigor meter.
We'll definitely be back.
