Tanta has two Chef’s Tables that each seat up to 10 people. These tables are located in our main dining room in between our open kitchen and cebiche bar which allows you and your guests to experience our chefs creating Peruvian cuisine while you dine.
The menu, created by Acurio and Tanta Chicago Chef Giancarlo Valera, takes diners on a voyage through Peru via its food. From the Pacific Ocean, through the Andes, to the desert, to the Amazon, Tanta celebrates the diverse landscape and ethnicities that make up Peru’s culture.

Very nice ambiance and nice happy hour specials for their signature drinks and appetizers. Beautiful rooftop seating with retractable roof. Propane heaters available for cooler weather and tables have umbrellas. Enjoyed the experience very much.

The food was so delicious!!! I was pleasantly surprised (didn’t know what to expect too much but this restaurant came recommended from a friend). We had the Tanta experience 6 course meal, 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, and desert. I’m coming back with my dad for Father’s Day, I know he’s going to love it! The chicken and the steak dishes we had were some of the most delicious I’ve ever had.

Tanta has great food. Small portions for the price though. Nice music and patio area on upper level. A bit unclean for our tastes; floors, tables and garbage cans out in food areas and around restrooms. For the price, we expected cleaner. Had to sneak around the garbage cans to get into the restroom. But the staff and management are attentive at your table. Cocktails are pretty expensive, but I guess that goes along with a city rooftop restaurant.
Tanta is some of the best food I have ever eaten in the city. It did not disappoint!! They had the best grilled octopus I have ever had. I also had the seafood tortellini and a crab potato dish, which were also amazing! The cocktails were to die for as well. Your next meal has to be here!
This was our first time at Tanta Chicago, celebrating our anniversary! Amazing experience! I would like to highlight the treatment received by Sophia, our waitress! She was very kind and attentive to us and our requests! Certainly made our celebration night more special. Thank you
The food was good, but not my favorite. I liked the chicken empanada, and the pisco sour drink. The service was okay, but I felt like we were rushed to order. I understand they have 90 min table reservations, but it felt too rush.

Going into the restaurant and never trying this style of food, my wife and I were ready to try it out. Especially with everything opening back up we wanted to eat at a outdoor patio. The appetizer and dessert had to be the best part of our experience. The drinks were ok and the entrees were subpar, never had the style of cuisine before so my wife and I don’t hold too high of standards just in case we aren’t fans of it. This statement doesn’t not mean we won’t go back cause we will, just not in the near future. Service was great and the ambiance as well.
Tanta is not what it used to be. It used to taste like actual Peruvian food. Since the value of taste has gone to more of an American twist. Not seeing myself going back anytime soon
Amazing flavors in every drink and dish. The rooftop bar is lovely. Have gone here for my birthday a couple times and never disappoints.
The Tanta rooftop is small but has a great atmosphere. The staff was very kind and attentive - our server was Karla and she was amazing, gave great recommendations.
For food I’d highly recommend the octopus, ahi tuna, and ceviche clásico. The elote was a great type of corn but not very flavorful overall. We got 4 different cocktails and they were all great.

everything is superb, from the ceviche to the lomo and roasted chicken. And drink forget it!! el chingon or a passion fruit bomb and dont forget the pisco sour.

Food was DELICIOUS! As soon as you walk in, the aroma gets you, and you know the food will be fire. I ordered El Cholito to drink and it did not disappoint. The staff was kind to bring a small pastry for the birthday girl. Would definitely go back for another special occasion.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their plates in my party(6 plates). Make sure to get some empanadas. We want to come back for happy hour and make it to the rooftop.
