What a magnificent Hotel, to enjoy such a beautiful meal by the fire was just ace! Geat meal, the wild venison pie was beeeuuuteeeful! Punches well above its weight.

We came to Beechworth to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and missed out on a table on Friday as they were booked out. We booked in for the Saturday and it's obvious why this place is so busy! Our server on the night (didn't catch her name) was outstanding! It's refreshing to have dinner somewhere where the staff take the time to stop and have a chat, this made the whole experience very personable. She even brought us a round of drinks on the house to celebrate our annniversary which was a lovely touch! Our meals arrived quickly and were nothing short of perfect. The duck fat potatoes were delicious! If you are visiting Beechworth, you absolutely must visit Tanswell's even if it's just for drinks - the mulled wine is to die for! We hope to visit again sometime!

Great setting, very helpful and enthusiastic staff, a very nice meal served for us, we had a table near the wood fire, will book again when we return to Beechworth.

We were not aware it was Steak night but the food was as good as previous visits, the bread sublime and the service by Jo and co very competent

Tanswell’s can be relied on to provide a consistent experience with their food, always tasty! It would be nice to see more non-meat options on the menu but I did really enjoy the fish & chips with a nice side salad, and the crème brûlée was delicious!

Great dinner at Tanswell’s. Interesting menu, not your typical pub grub. We had yummy wild boar dumplings, delicious lamb koftas and the venison pie to share. All delicious and cooked to perfection. Fantastic service.
