   The buffet line presentation needed attention. Several kids were going thru the line and made quite a mess . There was no one tidying up at any time. A few items needed replacing also. In general the food and selection was very good .

   Not enough waiters. Service was slow, waiters not very attentive. We were not even offered coffee with our dessert. Desserts were not great. Didn't seem to be made on site, they didn't seem fresh. Salad was supposed to include blueberries, I received 3 blueberries on my plate. I had the salmon, this was the best part of the meal. Meal cost $200. For 2, I felt that for what we received it was overpriced.

   Never been to Tanque Verde ranch. We decided to drive out to have lunch and check it out! Beautiful ranch! Lots to do and see! We had no idea it’s been around since the 1800’s! Lunch was good, service very good! If you haven’t been, highly recommend making the trip!

    The food was good, but not great. Not something that would cause us to definitively want to go back. Service was lacking. They seemed short staffed. The dining room is grand and very southwest, and the grounds beautiful. Will try their cowboy cookout. NOTE: I became very sick later that evening, was up all night last night, and am still recovering today. Not sure it was something in their food, but likely was as I had nothing else to eat after that. My breakfast early that day was just simple toast and coffee. That said, I was the only one in our group of four.

    The food here is excellent and, when there is a buffet, plentiful. We were guests at the Ranch so we didn't pay for the food we ate, but we did tip on the "menu " price. We thought the prices were rather high, but everything is expensive these days.

    TheBBQ was good and we come every year, the steaks needed to be cooked more but they were willing to give you well done steaks that turned out pink. Wish it was warmer the night I went but they did have heaters out

    My in-laws were in town from Spokane WA, and we wanted them to experience a more authentic Tucson experience, but yet enjoy delicious food and 5 star service. We could not have chosen a better spot! It was our first time here as well. We came for a sunday brunch, and the food was delicious, with many creative dishes and plenty of pescatarian options for my husband. The salmon, shrimp, cheddar mashed potatoes, and prime rib were all big hits! We loved the decor, with wood beams, and saguaro lined ceilings. The fireplaces were huge, and although it was warm when we were there, you could smell the leftover smoke from last night's fires. Bella was our server, and she was outstanding. She offered a drink menu right away, made suggestions, and checked in frequently without being obtrusive. She was friendly and really made us feel welcome and appreciated. My in laws loved the rustic and old west decor and feel. We stopped and visited the horses after, and walked around the grounds a bit. We will definitely return, and look forward to bringing more friends and family!

    Fun to see an old fashioned dude ranch but I would suggest just stopping by to walk around and not bothering to get a meal there. The food was OK but restaurants that are focused on food as there main business I think are better value.

    Not exactly as expected but overall was a nice experience. Food set up display felt disjointed and if you want more than a glass of water like coffee, juice, tea..... non existent. Oysters in a hot steamy buffet line. Not a good thing. They were really gross, warm and gritty. Prime rib was flavorless unless drowned in horseradish. Unfortunately my guests were extremely polite but it was apparent none enjoyed the meal itself but loved the ranch and atmosphere. It was worth the drive.

    We booked Tanque Verde for a week family vacation and were terribly disappointed with the food situation. The website details an impressive menu, but when you arrive – bait and switch! You have to eat at the buffet every night! The chef will prepare for you cold hamburgers and hotdogs, no buns, congealed pasta, fish squares that are frozen in the center, watery salad dressing and crumbs at the dessert bar. For the daily ranch price we paid, it is inconceivable that a nice evening meal is not served.

    I booked a table for breakfast on 12/28, hoping to give my mother, who had been visiting for the holidays, a lovely send-off before taking her to the airport for her flight home. When we arrived, I inquired at the resort's check-in area as to where the dining area was, since it was our first time there. The woman behind the desk asked if we were guests of the resort and I indicated we were not, but that I'd reserved a table for breakfast via OpenTable. She replied, "I'm surprised they let you book a table given that you're not staying here." I shrugged and reiterated that OpenTable allowed me to make the reservation, but her tone and attitude made me feel most unwelcome. When we were seated for breakfast, we were informed that only the breakfast buffet was available, not the breakfast menu. (When I reserved the table I reviewed the breakfast menu and it played a part in my decision to book there, so I was disappointed that our only option was the buffet.) The food was nothing special, and my mother and I watched a teenage guest take a piece of bacon from one of the buffet warmers with her bare hands. In this era of COVID-19, there really should be stricter supervision of the buffet, or staff should be on hand to serve the food to the guests. The dining room was lovely with a great view of the swimming pool area, and our server was reasonably attentive. However, if Tanque Verde Guest Ranch doesn't want non-guests dining in their facilities, they shouldn't list themselves on OpenTable. I left feeling really disappointed in our experience and disinclined to return.
