This was our second time at Tanner’s. The first visit was for Mother’s Day brunch - we had some service issues that first visit but I wrote it off to typical Mother’s Day issues. This second visit I made a reservation on open table. Three days prior to the day of our lunch I get a phone call from Tanners informing me that on Sunday at 1pm the patio seating will only be serving lunch. That’s fine we just want to be sure to have a table outside with a view.

We arrive 30 minutes prior to our reservation and are told there was a last minute large party and there are no available tables outside. We were given the option of sitting upstairs and ordering brunch or bar menu food if we really wanted an outside table. We didn’t want that. We wanted lunch on the downstairs patio. My mother complained, the manager got involved and magically they were able to sit us outside as per our original request. We were told they would have an outside table ready by our reservation time. So we proceeded to the bar for a Bloody Mary. It literally took 20 minutes to get 2 drinks. There were about 3 people at the bar. Only one bartender for the entire restaurant and bar. Anyway, we finally got our $18 bloody Mary’s. Yes $18! The mix tastes like plain tomato juice. But what are ya gonna do?

We were seated and Ordered the poke nachos, lumpia and Brussels sprouts appetizers. They were all very good. The lunch menu is pretty limited so 3 of us ordered the bbq chicken sandwich which was just ok. The brioche buns were stale. The bbq sauce just ok. Fries were really good tho.

Service was horrendous. Not one refill on my iced tea or the waters we were drinking.

Desserts were ok. Bread pudding, cheesecake and coconut gelato. None of which were spectacular. Also ordered coffee and did not receive even one refill.

Servers rarely came back to check on us. The view really is the only reason to come here. Disappointed in the manger. Will not return to Tanners.

My wife and I went for our anniversary. The staff was very friendly. The waiter was attentive without hovering. The food was delicious. My wife's scallops dish was a little extra salty in places like it hadn't been thoroughly mixed, but it was a seafood so we overlooked that. My salmon dish was incredible. We also ordered the poke nachos which were very good, and much larger than we anticipated. Decent beers on tap which we enjoyed and the complimentory gelato for our occasion was an excellent touch.

The reason I'm rating 4 instead of 5 stars is because the treetop bar was closed for a private event, but there was no notice about that on the website. I planned this dinner as a surprise for my wife and it was disappointing that we didn't get the entire experience.

I would recommend providing an online notice about closures or private events since online reservations are accepted. People driving from further away will really appreciate it.

Brunch nightmare. Not only did we have to wait for a table we reserved days in advance, but we were given poor service on top of that. Not to mention they sat us and then told us brunch was no longer available and they were using a transition menu, which made no sense because our reservation was based on their brunch schedule. Our server took thirty minutes to get to us and when we tried to order off the “transition menu” it wasn’t available because she had taken so long. Our food came out cold and we then waited another 45 minutes for a check. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone ever again.

The service was fine but my date & both ordered Salmon that was so small(slightly larger than a goldfish), that the server even agreed with me. I unfortunately didn't ask Tanners to cook us both a new piece of Salmon due to us having plans immediately after dinner. We are very disappointed in the size of the portions & will never order entree's there again.

With the surf city marathon happening right in front of the place you would think they would be ready for a crowd.

Except the fact that even with reservations it took 30 min to be sat. With hardly any people in the place yet.....

Service took forever! Like for pancakes and eggs it shouldn’t take 30 min to get food out.... again with not many tables sat.

We stayed at the Pasea and we love it there but the restaurant is not good.

The view and location are fantastic and we had a nice table outside. Unfortunately is took over 30 minutes to receive our food, one order was wrong and the food arrived cold. The hostess could use some customer service skills, when asking for an outside table she responded with "it wasn't requested on the reservation." The food was very good, just unfortunate it took so long.

Not what we expected. We had reservations for 5pm. we arrived about an hour early to have a drink and appetizers at the bar, which were great. Went in to have dinner and were disappointed. Menu was very limited, food over priced and was just ok. I ordered the peri peri chicken which suppose to be a half of a chicken but, it seem to be more like half a Cornish hen. small portions.

It was quite, would have been nice to find out a beer selection was out sooner, server should have brought a menu at that time instead I needed to ask for it. Not much of a menu selection and pricey. At this time I would not recommend.

Very pricey pre-fixed meal, but I suppose that is to be expected on X-mas day. The reservation process was goofed up because we had a reservation through Open Table (linked from Pasea website), but they didn't start seating until 5:00, and we didn't know it was a pre-fixed meal. Service was great.

Took my family there for breakfast on Christmas eve and the food was not what I excepted. My eggs Benedict was terrible. The eggs were over cooked and the muffin was under cooked, very doughy. I would not eat there for breakfast again.

Food was very good but hotel and restaurant lacked warmth (both literally and figuratively) and was not very decorated for the holidays. We went out with friends from out of town hoping the venue would be Shiite festive but was disappointed. As a hotel dining room the food was very good and perhaps in summer views of ocean make up for sparse interior.

While I have enjoyed Tanners in the past, it has been for breakfast. Very good food and great location for breakfast. Last Saturday, I took my wife to Tanners for dinner. The experience was not good. The service was mediocre. And while the atmosphere for dinner is supposed to be somewhat formal along with food prices that are not cheap - our experience was more like an inexpensive roadside diner. We were never offered bread and other typical dinner items but had to ask. When the busboy came to clear the table - he asked, "are you done"? Seriously?! Sure the question was appropriate but the service didn't match the experience and attitude that I believe that Tanner's management is looking to present. We spent almost $200 for two people and it felt like a regular restaurant like Ruby's diner. Furthermore, and I realize that Tanner's has little control over the conduct of their guests, but a large family arrived during our dinner and they had little kids that ran all around the restaurant with little control. It felt more like we were eating dinner in a nursery or daycare room. Again, I realize you cannot restrict your guests but perhaps the manager could have come talk with the parents to control their children not allowing them to run all through the restaurant, fighting, and crawling around on the floor.

Tanners is a great spot to meet friends. The view from the oceanview from the patio is beautiful. Just ask for a table by a heat lamp during chilly weather. Service can be slow it was spot on during my visit last Saturday. I recommend the cucumber delight cocktail as a starter along with the Calamari. For lunch I recommend the blackened salmon tacos for lunch. The only downside of Tanners is. The parking which is $8 plus tip. Take advantage of the parking price and spend more time walking around Pacific City.

I had made reservations for 2 for Saturday Nov 16, 2019 and once we got seated, our table was not greeted at all. After 15-20 mins of just sitting there, we decided to get up and leave to Blue Gold for dinner. We watched the servers greet and serve other tables that were sat after us. The 1 star is just for the service. We didn’t get to try any of the food.

We came for dinner and one of our guests thought it would be nice to try appetizers instead of dinner. The waitress said it would be filling, but it was not for the price. The thing that bothered me the most, we ordered the coconut rice that comes with the Salmon and she never brought it yet we were charged for it. We we all drinking wine and forgot to check the bill but remembered an hour later. My friend pulled out the receipt and sure enough there was the charge. To me, there is no excuse for this!

Let Tanner's know they should read the remarks when people make reservations on OpenTable. Never even had a birthday mention. Plenty of servers and we had very poor service, not to mention that the food was so disappointing. The lunch menu popped up on OpenTable but we were only offered the brunch menu. This was the first time we were there and will not be going back.

We ate here on Saturday night. The noise level at 6:15 from the music at the bar next door made it difficult to relax. The food was very marginal. The Barramundi and Scallops lacked flavor. I would not recommend this restaurant for anything but the view.
