Monday night, but service was extremely slow. Only 2 servers on.
This was our first visit. We will be coming back. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant.
Food was great and a good value.
The scallops were delicious. The shishito peppers lacked salt and flavor overall. The halibut was over cooked. The burger was good. The cocktails were very good.
Worst service we have had in a long time. After being seated we waited 15 minutes for anyone to say hi or bring water, and that only happened because I went back to the front desk to ask if we would have a waiter. The food was like bad bar food. I would not recommend this place, even with the great views of the ocean, to anyone.
Good view and delicious Brussels sprouts
It was our anniversary which I noted but they never mentioned or recognized. I was sad about that.
Service is horrible. I timed 18 min from ordering a glass of wine to receiving it on table. When wine came with the bad mood server I decided to ask for check and leave premisses. There is better business around thirsty for my money.
On a recent (March 2019) visit to Tanner's my family and I had terrible service. So much so that the other wait staff noticed and occasionally would ask if were still waiting for someone to help. We were seated at the only table on the side of the restaurant patio instead of with all the other tables parallel to the ocean. If I'm going to pay inflated prices then I expect it to be for the view and ambiance but with out that, I'm simply paying $30 for pancakes for my three kids. I know not every experience can be great and sometimes there are things going on behind the scenes at a restaurant but even if I factor that in, it was still crummy service and overall a bummer experience.
Overall a good experience. The food was good but I was caught off guard by how loud the dinning area is.
Overall we had a nice experience, however our server was not great. He was a little rude and not attentive at all. It felt like we was annoyed to even be serving us. The food was good, the environment was great! Very beautiful place :)
We walked in at 10:30 on Saturday morning, many tables available. Asked if we could have brunch and the hostess said, sorry only if you have a reservation. Walked outside booked a table on OpenTable and 60 seconds later walked back in and said we had a reservation, then we were seated. Funny and sad
Good food, great view. Good times. I don't know why I have to write 50 characters. The first 25 said it all.
Great food, great views. A bit noisy with the pool next to the outdoor seating area. Also outdoor bar that is above the restaurant had loud music.
Jake Lindborg is the best!!!
Nice evening everything was fine the portions were a little small for the price.
Can’t beat the view at this restaurant. The staff was very nice although I think they forgot about us at one point and if it weren’t for the fact that we were in no hurry it would’ve bothered us more. They were very accommodating so it made up for it.
We sat outside and ordered several things to share! Yum
Beautiful hotel & restaurant decor. Our particular server was not attentive to our needs and would disappear for long periods of time. The food was very good but a bit pricey for the portion size. The sidecar I ordered was not served in the traditional manner. I will try this restaurant again in a few months and hope that they have improved their wait staff.
It was such a fun afternoon. Upon arrival, we noted that there was live music being played on the patio so we asked for a seat out there. The musician was so talented and managed to play all my favorites. 😀
We took advantage of the special menu offered for Restaurant Week and honestly, everything was delicious! I started with the Curry Squash soups (with a topping of fun toasted pistachios) and the salmon tacos as my main. My SIL got a gem salad (generous portion, fresh and yummy!) and the hamburger. We shared the mains. The hamburger was perfection! It had just the right amount of bite to it and it was cooked perfectly. The French fries - OMG!!!
We each had a cucumber cocktail with vodka and it was refreshing and not too sweet. My afternoon lunch felt like I was at a resort on vacation somewhere: great cocktail, great view, great music, great food, great service. Who needs to go on vacay when they have that in their backyard. Good job Tanners!
Looking forward to the next time!
Nice restaurant, but it was extremely loud. I had to yelled to be heard. Not sure if I want to go back again.
Great food, terrible service, very loud and could not easily visit with folks
Generally the food at Tanners is tasty and well presented, but limited in variety and imagination. They have a terrible habit however of offering only pre-set and over-priced menus on special occasions, like Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve. For those with special dietary needs, you are totally out of luck, paying inflated prices for meals much of which you cannot or will not eat. The associated Pasea Hotel is a fun trendy place, but Tanner’s falls short on too many fronts. There are much better dining options nearby, which is too bad as I think it spoils what could be an outstanding and chic boutique hotel
Great place for bar food and great views. We were there for Valentines dinner and too noisy for that occasion!
great experience. Sat on the patio, heaters worked well for it being cold outside. Fish was great, brussel sprouts were fantastic and the bread pudding was to dye for!
Bottomless mimosas and service was great. The food was good, but not amazing.
We had an enjoyable dining experience . Their patio looks great for Summer dining and we can only imagine what a nice sunset we have to look forward to.
It was our first time dining here and it was wonderful! The food & service were great, we will definitely be going back.
Food in average
Food was very good.
First time at Tanner's! I live right behind the Pasea Hotel so it was an easy get to. Food was fantastic, but all the dishes lacked a bit of salt. Cocktails were underwhelming and felt like a service bar tender made them quickly with little love. I usually judge a bar program by their whiskey sour. Should be a homemade sour mix, a dash of egg whites and a luxardo cherry. Served up with a bit of foam. This one came out with no garnish, no egg whites, and the ratio was a bit off from mix to bourbon. I forgot what my wife got, but she wasn't pumped on hers either. so all in all, ocean front, great service and fantastic food is the reason to go here. Get a beer or wine instead of a cocktail!
our server forgot about our appetizer but she rectified it quickly and comped it for us which
was great customer service in my opinion they were very attentive and will definitely go back
Our waitress Nicole was amazing!!! Great food and great service
We had a wonderful time with a gorgeous view of the beach and the sun over the ocean. We dined at 2 pm on a Sunday, so we caught the tail end of the brunch menu, which worked out great for us. Well thought out cocktails, presented with care gave us a good first impression. Our lumpia appetizer had a great texture and was delicious. All four entrees, a simple, yet delicious eggs Benedict, a breakfast enchilada stuffed with variety, chicken jidori skewers with tasty rice and a chicken jidori sandwich with an amazing pesto and thick slices of mozzarella were fantastic. I look forward to dining here again. Finally, Nueske bacon!
The food (salmon and mahi mahi) was very good, but the setting isn’t the best. The bar and the dining areas aren’t particularly attractive. There are lots of tables and chairs without anything that is inviting or relaxing- nothing that made us want to have another drink and stay longer.
We chose Tanner's as a night out for an adult double date...we started at the rooftop bar for it's awesome setting and views. Our drinks were great and the service was quick and friendly at the rooftop bar; would highly recommend it! However, once we got downstairs to the restaurant for dinner, our good service seemed to have gotten lost.
After we were seated it took close to 10 minutes for a server, or any wait staff, to arrive at our table. We had to ask if there were specials since nothing was offered. We ordered the exact same drinks we had upstairs, but for some reason, they were very different from the downstairs bar. One would have to assume the server did not relay the order properly. Since she never came back to ask how our drinks were we had to go to the bar to get them fixed ourselves. The server intercepted us on the way there and offered to take care of it for us. Needless to say, wish we would have done it ourselves since only one came back as we ordered it.
When our salads arrived, we had to flag down another server to ask for pepper. We were brought a salt and pepper shaker. Apparently Tanner's doesn't offer fresh pepper for the salads? We will never know since our server, once again, never came back to ask how our salads were.
We saw her again when our dinner entrees arrived. I had to ask for the glass of wine I ordered earlier; she stated she had forgotten (it was not a busy evening). I will say the food (mahi mahi and burger) was very good, so no complaint about the food. Again, she never came by to check on how we were doing after the entrees arrived.
Our server did a nice job with explaining dessert and recommended something for us to try. No complaints there. Overall, however, for the price, I would skip the restaurant and find somewhere else to eat. I would definitely recommended having a cocktail on the rooftop bar...staff, service and drinks were great!
This was the special 3 course Christmas meal. The food was very good although the portion for the main course was significantly small.
Also, was extremely surprised when I asked for some fresh ground pepper and they didn’t have any. The fixed price for the meal was $65; which was overpriced completely for what was served.
Small over priced portions. Nice environment. And the short rib was delicious. Just small portions
Had Christmas dinner there. Service was efficient and staff very friendly. Food was excellent. We will definitely be back
Great views, ambiance and service. Pre-fixe menu for Christmas dinner. Portions were on the small side but appropriate portion wise and well prepared. Hefty price tag but again ...wonderful views and ambiance. As a local I would go again.
Went to the rooftop for cocktails and to watch the sunset, beautiful. We had Christmas Eve dinner at the restaurant and everything was amazing. The calamari was tender. The steak was one of the best we have ever eaten! Enjoy!
