Personal booth outdoors which made it very safe to be eating at TS
We came for our wedding celebration. We eloped and wanted to celebrate with our friends at the spot we first met over a year ago. The staff were very attentive and followed covid guidelines. Which made us feel safe and comfortable. We can’t wait to come back to our favorite spot once the new indoor dining shutdown is over. Thank you for everything.
Best brunch experience I've had! Great atmosphere and great music...will definitely go back again.
We - as alway - had a wonderful experience at Tanner Smith’s! We’ve made it a point to come here at least once every time we’re in New York City, ever since the first visit in 2018.
The food is always excellent, and the same can be said for the service! By luck we’ve had the same two servers each time we visit - one or the other. Sadly, I’m terrible with names, but the young lady who took care of us Saturday had a lovely Irish accent, and made my wife’s birthday brunch one to remember. The carrot cake dessert was an unexpected and delightful touch!
We will of course be back again, and look forward to it with great excitement!

Wonderful lunch/brunch spot just around the corner from our hotel. Very inviting and friendly staff plus yummy food. Even got a tour of the faculty (old Singer Sewing machine manufacturing). Live jazz band. A great first time experience.
I found Tanner Smith's while searching for restaurants that offer vegan options. Great place, fantastic food and vibe
we had a great meal - food was terrific and staff was extremely attentive - will def come back soon
Wonderful live music, excellent service, great food. Also, not too crowded for a weekend brunch.
Sunday jazzy brunch was swanky. Management was very accommodating regarding seating. Service was a little slow, and food didn’t come as ordered, but otherwise—a nice time was had by all.
Great service, very accommodating, food was excellent and the live band was the cherry on top. Definitely would recommend the brunch
A great place, with great decor, great food, and a great vibe! Our waitress was exceptional, the food was wonderful and the band at the bar was terrific!
Loved the atmosphere and love jazz band. A bit loud sitting near them, but understandably so. The food was delicious - definitely going to go back!
Conveniently located. Only bar stools in the front. Food was good.
Absolutely amazing time at Tanner Smiths! The best pre-theater brunch we ever had...and probably will ever have because we are just going to keep coming back! The live band was such a classy touch to Saturday morning brunch. The staff and manager treated us like old friends. The food was not your typical brunch options, it was beyond! Absolutely delicious. And it just gets better...we discovered there is a speakeasy on the lower level, cannot wait to revisit for an evening drink (shh!)
The poutine is unreal!! The guest I dined with didn’t love what she ordered originally and they promptly swapped it out for another entree without question. Service was slightly less attentive than I prefer and no one acknowledged it was my birthday, even though I put it in the reservation notes, but overall still a really great experience. Love the vibe and really enjoyed my BLT!
The brunch was delicious. The overall ambiance was fun and inviting. We will definitely return to try lunch or dinner.
Outstanding experience. I will do it every Sunday. Thank you.
We had the tipsy tea brunch. The food was great- the avocado toast and salad tasted excellent. among ourselves we ordered three kinds of cocktails and shared them. All of the cocktails tasted great, but wasn't exactly sure if it matched the food. We also felt like instead of two servings of cocktail, we would've preferred one serving of cocktail and a cup of tea/coffee. Staff was polite and timely. Overall it was a nice place to spend a Sunday morning with friends.
Great music and experience. Skip the Eggs Benedicts in the future though.the burger looks great!
Nice looking place. Burger was ok. Mac and cheese was good. Could have used maybe some garlic bread on the side.
We really enjoyed our girls’ brunch. The food arrived quickly. It was hot and delicious. Those of us who drank really enjoyed our beverages, too. They seemed to have a decent amount of business, but did not seem overly busy. I mention that fact specifically because we saw a person who seemed to be a manager quite a lot. However, after our food was delivered we never again saw our waitress after an initial, “Is everything okay.” To get the bill, we stopped a man who seemed to be a busboy. That said, I liked the food, and the overall atmosphere; it’s chill. It’s just that it’s now on my “take friends when you want a really leisurely and don’t need lights to see things” list.
Very attentive and friendly bartenders - yummy hollandaise sauce on eggs benedict
The food was fine, but what kind of a place doesn't have Bloody Mary's on Sunday at brunchtime? The server said they were out of tomato juice (!!!!), which could have been bought at one of a dozen places nearby. Very odd.
too much background music (aka noise) - no need for music playing - could not hear the person sitting across from me at our table
After MOMA we wanted a mid afternoon lunch that wasn't a huge Italian or Asian meal (many of the nearby options) and that wasn't too expensive. Found Tanner Smith's which was well rated and glad we tried it. The front is a cool bar area and the back is a restaurant that's fairly big. Good beers on tap which we ordered and were delivered quickly. Everything we chose was excellent. Grilled cheese with bacon, grilled chicken sandwich with a really nice aioli and cheese, pastrami sandwiches (2) and a roasted vegetable sandwich which had lemon hummus and goat cheese. Each had fries which were crispy and served with ketchup and a ranch? dip that was great. Portions were large but not monstrous.
The downside was the service. Our waitress was kind of scattered. The food and water refills were served by others so that was fine but I had to get up and find the waitress to get our check. Then she didn't come to get the credit card so I again had to find her and stand there while she ran it through. No apology and the manager saw it happening and didn't comment either. She was also covering tables in the front so maybe they were short staffed in the mid afternoon but we spent 15 min more than we wanted waiting to pay our bill.
Atmosphere was relaxed and fun - pub/inn feel with a layout that isn't crammed together. Definitely recommend it but not if you're in a rush.
Food came cold and without flavor. The chicken sandwich was bone dry; my friend's lamb "sliders" were simply pieces of meat, with no garnish, stuck between two buns and had no flavor. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Went to enjoy Jazz brunch on Sunday. We sat at the bar and had a lovely time. The band is amazing! The food was good too
Our food was really good. There was a slight mistake with my grilled cheese, but right away they fixed it when I told the server. The chorizo flatbread was really good. I would definitely recommend this place and go back another time
Great place for a nice lunch and a few beers. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Nice seasonal decorations
Birthday , ok brunch, loved the music. Portion size of the mimosa was not worth the price.
Waited more than 30 min past our reservation time to actually be seated because the waitress wouldn’t tell the people at our table to leave. Kevin, the host, was very apologetic.
Would have been a more pleasant experience if it weren't so loud. I would go back if there were a quiet time. Food was fine. Service pleasant considering how buzzy the place was.
Food was good but I had reserved a conventional table in the back only to be told when I arrived that we would have to take a table with high top chairs
Great brunch spot, great food, great mimosa’s. Service on a Sunday was a bit slow, no one was in a rush, but fine if you’re just taking your time.
Food was delicious and served hot! Service on point and friendly. The music offered during the weekend was fun and festive! Great experience for out of town guests!
Food and place was great but service was terrible. The waitress barely came by..no coffee refills, forgot the cream, etc. we went on a Sunday am just for reference. Another waitress came and helped out but she was clearly stretched herself. Food was great though.
Cozy and comfy seating, amazing drinks and food menu, friendly staff ... loved it!
Tables close together. Greeted and sat right away. Server very prompt and friendly. Had tea and flatbread dish. Good size and ver good. Would recommend this for brunch.
Delish. I had great service, tasty food, good cocktails. The price was reasonable. Poutine was amazing. Quiet dining room in the lower level.
Service very slow, fruit not ripe and not cut very well melon and cantaloupe had rind and was green,
Bloody Mary not my liking I like that it was spicey but u chew the seasoning
