I read that Tanner Creek was an excellent Portland restaurant. The food was good, the service was okay, but it didn't live up to the online reviews/rating on the overall quality. We visit Portland often and try new restaurants each time. Tanner Creek needs to up their game a little if they plan to remain competitive with the current foodie environment.
This is more bar food than fine dining. Although I found the ribs to be too sweet, the atmosphere and drinks were nice.
It’s connected to a hotel. Good food, especially halibut special, maybe too fancy for the space. Seemed like a good place for happy hour, but only 5 entrees on the menu. Not busy in the dining room on Saturday night.
Very enjoyable meal. Flat iron steak was excellent as were the side of snap peas and broccoli .
Good food. Nice place
We hadn't been here before and were pleasantly surprised. The food was moderately priced, the service pleasant, and the ambience nice.
The appetizers were delicious! Service was wonderful. My only complaint is that they charged $18 for the Brussels sprout & corned beef macaroni and cheese & there was NO MEAT! All I got was chunks of white cubed fat no actual edible meat. It was not good. Biting into chunks of fat and not one single piece of meat is not high quality in my opinion or worth the $18 charged.
The space is very industrial and cool. We were there on a Friday night, it was very quiet in the restaurant so we expected great service. We waited 10-15 mins to be greeted by our waitress to get the bottle of wine we brought opened.
The staff were very friendly but food underwhelming. Nice location in NW PDX. May go back for HH but that would be it.
Food for Portland Dining Month was pretty mediocre. The salad was essentially lettuce with a touch of flavor and the dessert cake tasted like it had been sitting in the freezer for over a month. Good beer list, though! Overall, not worth the money.
Nice place. Didn't know that happy hour menu could only be accessed in the bar area.
The duck wings were phenomenal. The atmosphere was not inspiring. Service was friendly and attentive. All food was on the salty side.
We specifically went because of the price fixed menu......to see what their cuisine was like. I had the smoked mushroom stroganoff. The sauce was rich and certainly had plenty of mushrooms. I did not enjoy the smoky flavor..... it was heavy and had an after taste. The layer cake for dessert was dry and flavorless. I could not finish either course. Overall not a great meal experience.
Service was terrible. It took over 15 minutes to take our order, or even get drinks ordered. We also did not receive any refills on our water. I would not return for another service.
Interesting menu was nice! Food was great, ingredients were well thought out and care given to execution. We had Mac n cheese with corned beef and brussel sprouts. It was a ton of food! We also had a burger, cooked nicely, decent fries and a side of broccoli with a very potent lemon sauce. It was very quiet on a Sunday.
Pleasant surprise created by the opportunity of portland dining month. Don’t let it being attached to the Hampton inn deter you. It’s not just a hotel dining option it’s a proper quality experience. Great food
My husband and I dropped by for Portland Dining Month. Food and service were great. Would certainly recommend and we’ll definitely be coming back
We had a really enjoyable dinner at Tanner Creek Tavern, mostly because our server was absolutely delightful. We were having a whole lot of fun and she immediately got in the spirit and fit in perfectly. She was great! Then again, I'd say that about everybody we dealt with there. Outstanding service! Thank you!!
We celebrated a special birthday with six friends. The dishes were different and all excellently prepared and served. The waitperson was sensitive to dietary restrictions. The table and seats were comfortable, and the soundtrack was perfect for our group!
Nice dinner, good location and excellent service. We'll be back when the weather gets warm!
Tables were really close together, felt like we were apart of the next tables conversation not ours. The burger was over priced for what you got. Wasn’t even asked how I wanted it cooked and it came out over cooked.
The food was absolutely delicious with a wide range of selections and very reasonably priced. We all loved our meals and the apps too.
This was my first visit. Great food and service! Pleasant surroundings and I’ll be going again soon. Thanks for the enjoyable experience!
Great food in a nice, yet casual setting
I much more prefer brew pubs that have more character - thought the food was okay
Food was lack luster.
First time here and we'll be back. The food was very good and it's a nice open area. Slide up doors for summer look inviting.
My client and I enjoyed our lunch.
Went here on a whim with the kiddos to celebrate a New Year's Eve staycation. Food was delicious, came out in order and on time. Service was polite and professional and left feeling taken care of with full bellies. Flat iron steak was cooked perfectly and scallops were lovely.
Went before a Blazer game. Had many small dishes at Happy Hour. Nothing spectacular, but tasty. Very good, and interesting cocktail.
Sunday Happy Hour offered regular menu items, too. Good food on both menus.
Our dinner at Tanner Creek was delicious. There were many options on the menu. The service we received was exceptional. Our server was just perfect in her position. I would recommend Tanner reek to anyone.
Great location in walking distance from the Armory. Very quiet setting and great for groups. Service was very friendly and food was great!
Natalie was clueless after asking more than once for items that should have been delivered with food. We never got them. Food was less than appealing. Staff is basically lazy
Exceptional service! Great spot for a group meal. We really enjoyed dining here.
My husband , his brother and wife and I recently dined here on a Saturday night at 7. We sat in the bar by choice despite having a reservation. There were tables available but college football was on which was fun. We all ordered something different and all entrees were great. I had the pork chop, my husband had the chicken, my bnl had the pizza and he’s very picky about his pizza but he loved it. My snl had the mushroom bowl. We had an appetizer order of fries that came out piping hot and were delicious. The beers were plenty and the House red wine was very good. I would definitely recommend Tanner Creek Tavern. It’s located as part of The Hampton Hilton so whoever stays there is very lucky to have a great restaurant without leaving the hotel
Dined here for a business lunch. The ambiance was great with large windows and brightly lit. Sure wish the City would do something about the homeless camped outside though. The tables were spacious and well-placed. The food was delicious. I had the mushroom rice bowl and the flavors were savory and the portions filling. My colleague enjoyed the clam dish and savored every drop of the broth. I will be back!
The cuisine at Tanner Creek is consistently excellent. The menu is more classic than experimental, but the ingredients are always fresh and local and the cooking professional. We always have a hard time narrowing our choices of the many tempting dishes.
Had a delicious Little Gem Caesar salad and the Turkey Dip with Fries. I have to say, the salad was outstanding with mild anchovies and little crunchy crumbs and just the right amount of dressing. The sandwich was very tasty, but the fries were the best I’ve had in a long time - very fresh tasting and with the perfect crisp exterior and soft interior. Addictive and served with an aoli that was excellent. Whoever made those fries is a real pro!
We ate outside inn the sun. Even though it was on Everett, which us busy, it wasn't that noisy. Both of us had great meals at a reasonable price.
It was perfect to dine there before a play at the Armory.
