Tankard & Tun
Had a friend in town but there was a live band downstairs and we had to leave as we couldn’t hear each other across the table
Fish was okay. Slaw without flavor. Service lacked—quite slow and not friendly or helpful wait staff.
Food and drinks were average at best.
Service was below average, staff didn’t particularly care.
The Halibut was delicious. Four of our party enjoyed it. The others needed a simple burger after a few days of seafood in Seattle and this place took care of that too. We had 8 people and they happily made us 4 bills which was wonderful for group dining. Thank you for a lovely easy Saturday night in Seattle.
Our fav spot to grab oysters and the only reason we ever go to the market:)
Visiting Seattle. Overall good solid experience.
Food was solid and fresh, but service seemed a bit stretched and food delivery was a bit uneven as appetizers came out far apart. Seafood was great.
I love the environment and vibe. The food is fantastic. I love the salmon burger with the spicy BBQ sauce. The oyster selection was good. I recommend this restaurant for all!
Fantastic flavor for great fresh casual food in a cool vibe space with great views. Quiet for the location.
Beautiful spot, great service, food was amazing especially the whole fried snapper, risotto, and mussels. Top it off with delicious beer and great ambiance --- a perfect evening!
Cheese curds, fish and chips, and beer for two comes out to $100 here. You can get this at a stand for less than half the price.
I should have known this was a tourist trap. Much of the seafood options were fried, and the food was poor quality especially given the prices.
Overall this experience was pretty disappointing. The restaurant did not have iced tea ready for mid-week lunch service, the waitress never offered to refill drinks for us that didn't get water, and the food while it was good, wasn't anything spectacular for the price paid ($115 for 5 people).
I had a 5:30 reservation - I left at 7:30 for another event and still hadn’t gotten my meal.
Happy Hour Specials were great. Fried Cheese Curds, Fish & Chips, & the burger were all discounted during HH. The oyster sandwich was good but bread used was too thick. Would recommend a slimmer roll for that. The chowder was delicious. The Pike IPA was wonderful.
Alex, our server was very good. He had a great sense of humor, was helpful, and also attentive.
Tasty! Cool location and nice ambiance right by pike place 👍🏽
Amazing, fresh, food at reasonable prices in an intimate and still somehow bright and airy location. We are looking forward to a return visit!
The oysters! The ceviche! The oysters! Great place to get together with friends and enjoy fresh seafood. Really good service (tip included) and fresh fresh fresh!
Great bite to eat before our concert at the Showbox! The salmon and chips was surprisingly excellent!
Good food, good beer. A bit pricy for what it is. Definitely downtown tourist prices.
Absolutely love the seafood menu - try the Giant Octopus for sure!
Tankard and Tun is a small seafood spot located in Pikes Place in the heart of the tourism traffic. That being said, the food was absolutely fantastic. We had the fish and chips (rockfish) and also the salmon and chips. I was surprised to see a fried salmon on the menu, I had never had it before, but it was executed to perfection. The batter was light and fluffy and didn't add any extra heaviness to an already heavy fish. The fries were well done, however the absence of pepper (and salt) at the table was noted. The fresh tartar sauce for both pieces of fish was incredible. My only gripe would be the prices, my husband and I joked that we paid a "tourist premium", as the fried salmon alone was priced at $24, which is pretty steep for salmon in general. The fish and chips was $17.
Overall, service was great, food was delish, but prices are high so expect to pay those "tourist premiums" if you decide to go. Also, it's a small place so I would recommend making reservations just in case they fill up.
Not sure if it's intentional, but it feels like Tankard and Tun has downscaled a bit. The ambiance (decor, staff attention) has waned a bit. Still great food, and maybe a better fit for the neighborhood, but just different.
Great dinner and Jennifer (our waitress) was helpful, attentive, and personable.
Great food and service
Thank you for visiting us and leaving a review! It means a lot to us, see you again soon I hope! -James Olson Manager Tankard & Tun
I was completely underwhelmed by this restaurant, to be honest. When we arrived, granted our reservation was for slightly later in the evening, we were the only ones in the entire restaurant. Which made me slightly hesitant, because due to its location, I anticipated the place would be packed. However, the reviews were great and we decided to give it a shot anyway. Overall, my food was fantastic - my husbands, not so much. He had fish and chips which were greasy and unappealing. I had a crab dish, which appears to have been taken off the menu, but it was so small, I left hungry. I was shocked when we received the bill. The food was definitely not worth the price tag. Maybe it was an off night but I think we will stick to the brewery downstairs next time and skip Tankard & Tun.
The food was mostly really bad. My risotto was severely under-cooked and the scallops were severely over-cooked. We loved the beer, the bread and butter and the french fries. The cauliflower appetizer was limp, and with too much cinnamon. We never did receive the extra tartar sauce ordered and our second beer order took about 20 minutes to be delivered.
Fish and chips - great!
Vegetarian option mushroom sandwich - wonderful!
French fries amazing.
Great Pike Place market locale.
A wonderful find.
Very enjoyable restaurant with delicious food. Will seriously consider returning the next time I am in the Pike's Market neighborhood.
The oysters are so fresh, the pork cheek sandwich was incredible and the beers are delicious! It was so good I actually had a meal there the next day. Will definitely go back whenever I am back in town.
Great find and fun food for before theatre. Good happy hour menu. Loved the steamed mussels and the wonderful hamburger. Inventive drink menu for both cocktails and local beer selections. Not a place for first dates as conversation level is energetic. But, a good place to try out.
Fabulous food in a great location! They have a HH that goes until 6pm. Grab a seat by the window for a beautiful view. The sablefish was delicious!
Looking forward to a return to Seattle and the brewery. Food was uninspired and (I believe) my credit card number was stolen. Not fun having a cancelled credit card on vacation.
This restaurant is a part of the Pike Brewing Company and, not surprisingly, offers delightful beer pairings.
Fantastic fish! Because of its location I was a bit worried this might be a tourist trap. Not to worry. The food was fresh and delicious, excellent selection of craft beers... this is, after all, a brewery :) Prices a bit on the higher side but reasonable given quality of food and prime location. My fish-loving companions said the sable fish was one of the best fish dishes they had ever had. Leave room for dessert.
Small intimate restaurant with waterviews of Elliot Bay. They offer a variety of oysters that is delicious!
Seafood galore. Oysters was fresh. The surf and turf was the bomb.
Night started off a little rocky with us waiting a little longer then needed on drinks. But the service did pick up for the rest of the evening. Food was just alright. But nothing to write home about.
A solid Pike Place restaurant. A limited menu, but it knows what it wants to be. Great chowder, and I’m super picky about my chowder... well balanced and not thick and gloppy.
Menu didn’t reflect website waited a bit with no service then left
