very small portions high prices mediocre food and the servers service was less than average but we did have a plentiful amount of water
Our group of 4 had dinner at Tango prior to walking to the Paramount to see Hamilton.
The waitress gave great advice as to what to order. No, not basically based on what was the most expensive. I few of the reviews said it was expensive for what you get - but I don't agree. There are nice selections for both carnivores and vegetarians. We had a memorable night!
I was actually surprised upon receiving the bill the extra gratuity was actually already crossed out - as Seattle pre-adds the 20% gratuity. So, it was clear they didn't expect more upon what was already added. I highly recommend Tango for a special occasion.
Great meal and friendly service. We look forward to going again.
We have not been to TANGO for a decade - but it hasn’t lost its charm. The options are still varied, the food very good, and the service excellent. If you enjoy the tapas/small bites approach you will enjoy sampling the flavors at Tango.
We arrived at 5:30pm as we had Hamilton tix at 7:30pm. Advised our waiter when we sat down that we needed to be done by 7pm - “no problem!”, he said. We snacked on tapas and had several drinks but at 6:55 still didn’t have our main course. We had also pre-ordered dessert.
They tried to serve us dessert before the main entree but we declined. In the end they got us our entree and we rushed to eat it as fast as we could and just barely made the show. Oh, and they also boxed our desserts up to-go? Like I’m supposed to take that with me to my seats at the Paramount? Sheesh.
The food was delicious as always, but they need to be better at timing guest experiences with show times....particularly when guests communicate it upfront.
Great find! We went before seeing a show at the Paramount as it was close by. We were glad we did, food was excellent! We shared a salad, the pulled pork appetizer and the seafood entree. All were generous and tasty. Will go there again:-)
Tango is a wonderful restaurant. The Tapas is great and very tasty. The ambience is very relaxing. My biggest complaint relates to the Paella. A Spanish restaurant should have great paella, and Tango fell down here. The biggest issue: the paella / rice was not scorched/browned. It wasn't cooked long enough. Any good paella needs to have the burnt rice on the rice that is closest to the pan. This rice was not.
Excellent food and service! Tables were so close together that I had trouble tuning out the loud mouth sitting behind me.
We have gone to Tango a few times and the food is always great. The drinks were fantastic and not the watered down swill that many restaurants serve
food is def over priced for what you get. bacon wrapped dates were just ok. paella was good but dry. ive had better of everything they offer from food trucks for less than 1/3 the price
We love the cozy, intimate space, professional service, and beautifully prepared small plates. We’ve come here for years and the food is consistently good. Our favorite is the toast with white anchovy, although the roasted Brussels sprouts with honey and walnuts might edge this one out.
Tango is a short walk from the Paramount, so it is a great pre- or post- theater option.
They did not acknowledge our open table reservation. We were also celebrating 2 birthdays and were not acknowledged. There was uncomfortable confusion on our payment at the end. Lighting was so dark you could not see what you were eating. Food was just fair for the price. I would not recommend or return.
We got there late as my daughter was performing in a dance til 10. Caitlyn was attentive and never rushed us. We had the roasted Brussels sprouts, duck salad, grilled octopus, bacon wrapped dates, pork belly bites, and grilled lamb chops. The Brussels sprouts had walnuts which complemented the veggie both in taste and texture. The duck salad had lots of tender duck and the greens were fresh. The octopus was good but maybe a bit too charred as the tentacles were rather small. The dates were good although the bacon was a bit too crunchy. The pork belly bites were perfection with just the right amount of saltiness and crunchiness. My daughter had the lamb chops which she said were good but a bit heavy on the garlic. The El Diablo dessert was heavenly - melt in your mouth chocolate mousse surrounded by chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Overall a wonderful experience.
I appreciated the restaurant's take on Spanish paella and tapas, but didn't think the restaurant was a great value for what you got. I'm willing to try it again for Happy Hour.
Service was great. Food was underwhelming, especially for the price. Sorry, just didn't like it.
First time, recommended by the Olive 8 hotel staff. NOT disappointed!!! My wife lived in Spain where Tapas are from and she approved :-) Totally delicious choices and the staff were amazing - including the manager who stopped by to check on everything. Would most definitely go back again.
For our monthly date night this was perfect. We arrive a tad bit early and there were lots of open tables but we were told we had to wait for our scheduled time. We sat at the bar which was fine but it didn't seem like the host/hostess was paying attention to us. We eventually had to check back in with them to make sure we were going to be seated. Besides that we had a nice table (a bit cold by the window), great food, a great waitress, and overall a nice evening.
Fantastic food. Tapas were wonderful, so much flavor. Creative cocktail menu, drinks were excellent. The El Diablo continues to be the best dessert in Seattle.
Great dining experience overall. Upon arrival the host asked if we were going to Hamilton, which was perfect, since we wanted to make sure the timing of food etc. was right so we wouldn't run late. Excellent service and great food. We'll gladly come back again!
I can hardly wait to go back and try some other things on the menu. Great evening.
The food & service were fantastic!
The food was just fine. Nothing special and does not warrant the high ratings.
My friend and I dined at Tango before seeing Hamilton at the Paramount. The waitstaff were very aware of timing and made sure to take care of our orders quickly. We were actually quite early and there were several empty tables. They seated us in a back corner and after this I would ask for another table. All I could see were the kitchen staff. The food and service were excellent. I will definitely dine here again.
Good selection of plates and a few entrees in case your looking for one larger option. Each type of tapas has 3-4 options including meat and non meat varieties. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Drinks are spectacular and highly recommended.
Was absolutely blown away by the food. Great ambiance and friendly staff. 10/10 would come back. On the expensive side though so it won’t be for a while. But I would come for a very special occasion
Unfortunately, this restaurant charges an automatic 20% service charge. I really abhor this practice. A 20% tip is reserved for outstanding service. A restaurant should not demand it. Just raise the prices of your food if you need more money and let the customer retain the ability to tip as they deem appropriate. It incentivizes good service.
We had not been to Tango in a while and were delighted with our Valentine's Day date choice. The menu was lovely and we are eager to come back and get re-acquainted with the rest of the regular menu. I love Spanish tapas and I remember they have some really good ones.
Outstanding experience for valentine day
Way over priced. $180 for two people with no drinks after a non-optional gratuity. We’ve been coming here for years on valentines, but that tradition probably ends after tonight.
enjoyed the food and wine and reminded me of the wonderful food and wine we had in Spain
Great setting for visiting with friends. Lots of fun and tasty choices of small plates. We liked it a lot!
Excellent food. Super waiter. The private room was quiet and intimate.
Great food and service as usual
Went in before seeing Hamilton. We met with my parents and all chose 1-2 tapas items to share. The food was delicious, highlights include the crispy pork belly bites and the sangria by the pitcher. Would definitely go back.
We go to Tango every time we are in Seattle. It reminds us of our time in Valencia Spain.
Paella is very tasty and authentic.
Great tapas and drinks
Entree was bit disappointing however staff to great lengths to redress the situation.
This was my 4th visit there ...it’s a gem, food is amazing... be sure to try their famous dessert the diablo.... we split it as our appetizer as wanted to be sure there was room for it. Each year when I am staying downtown Seattle this is a must do
We went before seeing a show down the block at the Paramount as did many of the other patrons. Kitchen staff gets a round of applause for getting everyone out in time. Bacon wrapped dates are a favorite as were the shrimp, meatballs, and lamb chops. Wish we had had time to try a paella. Next time when we don't have a time constraint. The rich chocolate dessert we shared was a fitting conclusion to a tasty, well seasoned sampling of dishes.
3rd time here. There will be a 4th. Friendly service and tasty tapas. Fun putting my own combination together (and wine to complement).
