Tango Ratings and Reviews
Tango, you broke my heart. Once upon a time you served me well. A delicious dish you bore, The Del Mar (seafood paella). Alas, it is no more. Replaced by a "Traditional or Vegetarian Paella". Replaced. And the tears cannot be stopped. Oh, the replacement is... sufficient, somewhat traditional, at best a mediocre cousin of the great Del Mar. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and so goes our love affair with Tango's Del Mar. Adios my good friend. I will remember you fondly for being unique, exquisite, a mistress to my palette, and most of all simply delicious. Oh the service was outstanding, the ambiance cozy, the Sangria delectable, but the Sangria cried that night. The Night The Paella Died... A long, long time ago, I can still remember how the Paella made me feel...
Had just been to Spain so this was such a nice treat for my Spanish food cravings. The only disappointments were the added 20 percent gratuity and the fact that the waiter starred and circled 'additional' on the tab.... 20 percent seems high and that's what I normally tip if the service is good so I'm not going to tip more. I'm sure that's disappointing to the wait staff -- plus it wasn't really busy so the waiter was somewhat inattentive, but he was friendly and efficient. They were very responsive to the fact we had a show to go to so that was nice.
Our food at Tango was just okay. The shrimp were chewy and over cooked and the pork belly was burned. The ceviche dish had just a few small slivers of fish so definitely not worth the money. Our server gave us the wrong check and said it was “not a big deal because the amounts were pretty similar anyway.” I wish the entire experience had been better!
Great spot, unique interior space. Good food, really couldn't complain. Adding a few Brussel Spouts to the Beef Tenderloin dish would make it a bit better, but all good either way. Service was awesome, loved Annie. She was very attentive, friendly and helpful. The manager and, I think a cook or another server, also stopped by our table to ensure we were happy. Definitely, a repeat place for sure. Wish I was there now. :-)
A co-worker suggested Tango-and we loved it! The 'Cheap Dates' are a MUST! Brussel sprouts with the honey are amazing! The pork belly bites with pomegranate reduction-WOW! Can't wait to come back! Service was the best! Lucas made the entire experience fantastic! We'll be asking for him next time in....
Delicious, interesting, and well crafted food with excellent ingredients. Very pleasant setting, friendly, helpful and professional staff. The dining area is spacious, inviting, and comfortable. The music was a little loud for conversation when we were seated, but they reduced the volume at our request. We have eaten here about 6 times over the last 2 years and have very pleased each and every time.
I really wanted to like the place, service was slow and fairly unresponsive. Do not like the fact that 20 percent tip was automatic but I understand that it's party of dining in Seattle now. I had a seafood dish that I ended up turning back because half the seafood didn't taste right, or fresh although I was assured by the chef it was fresh. A manager stopped by and offered to replace it which was nice but the server did no follow up.
Our group stopped by for dinner before seeing a musical at Paramount Theater. We liked the ambiance but found the food, service, and value proposition to be lacking. Last but not least, it is unacceptable for an aspiring Spanish cuisine destination to have paella so mediocre that many reviewers, us included, would caution prospective diners against ordering it.
Fun place for a birthday celebration. Excellent wine selection and a fun and tasty variety of tapas. lamb chops and chicken croquettes were excellent.
paella for all and then el Diablo foe dessert were good choices though paella was ok but the weak item in the meal. other items were great
Was a busy night with lots of people going to one or more nearby theater events. Though we weren't going to an event, upon arrival we were asked right away if we were. Nice for them to be mindful that people might be on a short time schedule for making an event at one of the nearby venues.
The beet soup (special) was fantastic. Would highly recommend that.
We didn't order an entree, just a number of smaller items to share. All was great, and the desert as well.
