Tango Bistro Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I wanted to try a new place for Valentine's. Tango was recommended. We loved it!
Good for a romantic evening or to go out with other couples. The food was fantastic and the service outstanding from our waiter. He really made us feel special.
Would not use for business. Tables too close to have private conversation
Food and service was excellent in general. We'd definitely go back. We did have to advocate for ourselves to get seated in a nicer area of the restaurant than where the hostess wanted to put us (a little out of the way and less atmospheric), but once we got the seats we wanted, everything was great.
Great as always!! Tango has been a favorite since my husband and I moved here 15 years ago. It's perfect for families, friends or even special occasions. It's lively without being disruptive to everyone. It has a very relaxed yet comfortable atmosphere. I like the idea of the new menu options - the meat/seafood with a sauce and/ or a vegetable. Great idea!
Beautiful place; impeccable service. Food not as tasty as I’d like for the prices but still better than most. I had braised beef (was a bit too fatty and too heavy on gravy), mashed potatoes were amazing. My wife had chicken; above average but not as flavorful as she would have hoped.
I really liked this place. The food, service, and ambiance were great. The waitress worked very hard, and gave helpful recommendations on food and wine. Loved watching the trains go by the windows while we ate. The only negative was that our seats were near stairs that were a consistent thoroughfare for guests and staff. I will definitely be coming back.
It's one of my favorite places The person who waited on us was friendly but inexperienced-- - asked us how the food was before we had the first bite, brougt the bagged up the left-overs to the table (the portions were generous) and assumed we were ready to leave but didn't check with us and didn't clearly offer dessert and coffee or check back within a reasonable time. Nothing training and experience couldn't fix. Also I know many of the waitstaff do a good professional job.
I chose this restaurant because the menu looked appetizing and the reviews where at a 4.1 out of 5.
The food was just OK. Nothing to write home about and the price was too expensive.( I certainly would not mind paying $65.00 at lunch for cuisine that is amazing.)
On the plus side.....the server was very friendly and attentive.
Excellent restaurant for comfortable high quality dining without the fussiness of a ‘gourmet’ restaurant. Good variety of offerings to please most palates professionally served. Good variety of wines, beers and drinks. Great for family gatherings or w friends. Easy for people w physical limitations like my octogenarian parents. They are excellent at grilled fish and meat. I had almond crusted salmon and I loved it.
This is one of my favorite go-to spots for a delicious meal! I typically frequent on Friday or Saturday nights and I will continue to do so. However I think I'll stay clear of a late Sunday dinner from now on. We had an 8:15 reservation and arrived to an unpleasant smell in the restaurant. Wasn't sure what kind of smell it was, but it was definitely unpleasant. We sat down and were informed politely that the kitchen would close at 9. Ordered by 8:30. Bread came out - not fresh. Fried calamari came out - MUCH saltier than I've ever remembered - and I get this app every time. Entrees were delicious, as I've come to expect. We were out the door by 9:30 but not before cleanup had begun around us in the dining room. Typically, my reviews for Tango are 5 star in all areas, but this is the first time I wouldn't be able to do that. My lesson learned is to no longer be one of the last reservations at the end of what, I'm sure, was a typically busy weekend.
This was markedly one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Terrible food and terrible service. Waited over 30 minutes to have a waiter serve us and over an hour to get any food. Food order came out wrong. Waiter forgot our drink order. Waiter was just overall frazzled and the restaurant manager had to help in our section. The restaurant needs help with management and operations. I would recommend going somewhere else to eat.
Had dinner on Jan 5th while the outside temp was in the single digits. The dining room that is next to the railroad track was drafty. We ordered mushroom bisque and broccoli rabe with white beans and tomatoes for starters and spicy shrimp with angel hair pasta and veal meatloaf for entrees. The starters were good, presented warm and seemed priced properly. The entrees were okay, but not worth a special trip. Our waiter was superb and gave us great service so we felt better about the tab. We hadn’t been to Tango in a while and I doubt that we will be returning soon. There are too many other restaurants that offer better value in the area.
Tango is a great stop for a lovely lunch, a light dinner before a Bryn Mawr Theater movie or just to meet friends for a drink at the bar. The food is terrific and the people are nice. What more can one want except for a cool space to watch the trains go roaring by now and then for feeling like one is actually in a train car or in the movie!
