Tango Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The waist we had was awful. My friend asked for two simple modifications and was told "no". My prior experience over many years of coming there as just the opposite. He was rigid an d not customer service oriented. My friend ended up having to order her third choice for lunch. She had never been there and it was my choice. I was embarrassed.
Tango is consistently good food, ambiance and service. We are regulars and take people there regularly. We’ve never been disappointed!
Chefs are imaginative and food is always presented beautifully.
Thanks again Tango. We were there for my birthday celebration.
I've been to Tango before and had much better meals. Our reservation was for 7 PM on a Sunday. The restaurant was busy and our server was quite distracted. It took a long time to get our drinks, and it was about 30 minutes before our appetizers arrived. My companions both ordered the mushroom soup which was delicious. I tried a special crab tempura appetizer which was just OK. Service My entree was the grilled trout. It was dried out and tasted like it was cooked hours before and just warmed up before being served. My side of rice was so undercooked I didn't ea it. I have had much better food here previously so I wondered if the issue was how late we were dining on a Sunday - we were just about the last to leave since our meal took so long to be served.
My husband and I were given a gift card for tango. We went there on a Friday night for 8 reservation. The bar was nice and drinks were good. it was all downhill from there. My husband ordered a steak with chimichurri. Steak was cooked ok but not seasoned at all and was given salsa instead and when pointed it out the waitress said that was the chimichurri sauce. Chimichurri is extremely different than salsa. The mash potatoes with with chorizo did not resemble any form of potato by taste or texture. It was quite strange and inedible. I got a kale salad with shrimp which was ok, but shrimp we're very overdone. The service was good but due to the poor quality of the food we will not be back.
excellent food and service. The location is unique, and as explained the building was once a storage facility for the main line train. The interior is very pleasant and only one wall is exposed to the original original stone, presumably set by a stone mason. We 'd be glad to return any time.
We had an 11:30 Sunday brunch reservation which was timely honored. The bloody marys were perfect and the food delicious. Tango was not crowded so noise was not an issue. The only part of the experience which could have been improved was the service, especially in light of the fact that it was not busy.
I have been a guest at Tango a number of times over the years simply because the restaurant is conveniently located to where I live. However, I would not go out of my way to dine there. While the staff is generally friendly and professional, i feel less upbeat about the food, the quality of which is just ok. The menu has been whittled down over the years, to the point where it just doesn’t inspire much excitement, made worse by the fact that the average price of an entree reflects a more upscale experience than is justified by the quality of the food alone. After this last experience, it will be a long time before i will return, if ever, unless the menu changes, and/or food quality improves to justify the prices the restaurant charges.
The mushroom ravioli was absolutely lovely, and so was the arugula salad. My friend had the French onion soup which he said is the best anywhere, and the grilled cheese sandwich. The service was fast enough that we were still able to make our movie at Bryn Mawr film Institute on time. God bless this restaurant! 🙏😇✨👍
We had a lovely meal at Tango before we went to a talk at a nearby school. The service was great, friendly and efficient. Our food was brought quickly and it was delicious. We arrived late for our reservations, after having called from a traffic jam, and the hostess was most gracious and patient. My husband had no trouble getting in and out with his walker and it was stored out of the way while we had our dinner, and readily available when we were ready to leave. It was a fun date night for us, and we most certainly will be back.
My friend and I arrived separately at the restaurant a few minutes prior to our reservation time. Each of us checked in at the hostess desk under the same reservation name. Each was seated in a different room. After 20 minutes of waiting for each other, we finally texted and realized that we were both at the restaurant. We each approached the hostess who apologized for the mistake. Things happen, but it would have been a nice gesture for them to have sent us a drink or something. Everything else was fine.
I took my wife there for her birthday. I had the almond crusted grilled salmon. It was served on a bed of asian noodles with asian slaw. It was delicious, flavorful, and a nice blending of tastes. My wife had blackened swordfish. She liked it a lot. The portions were right-sized, neither too large nor too small. The food was served remarkably quickly. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. The only flaw that I found was that my dish was not quite as warm as I would have liked. We ate inside in pleasant surroundings. There are a few nice outdoor tables, but they look out on a parking lot. I would definitely go there again.
The service was extremely slow. We asked for our food several times. The food came out over an hour later and it was cold so we sent it back. We also complained to the manager.
We frequented this restaurant for over 15 years and it has changed. Unfortunately we can no longer recommend it.
I haven't been to Tango for a while, because the previous meal I had there was underwhelming. However, our most recent trip to Tango was a hit! My husband and I each had the oyster appetizer, which was beyond incredible- don't hesitate - just get it! Plump, juicy, and exceptional flavor. Hubby had the salmon that was cooked a perfect medium rare, and I experienced the wild mushroom ravioli, which was amazing and had a ton of lump crab meat in it. Great way to celebrate my birthday. Oh, and our server was just fabulous! Her recommendations were spot on, and she was friendly and engaging. Thanks for a wonderudining experience, Tango!
