Love the Middle Eastern ambience, the food was fantastic just such a great vibe for hanging out with friends or colleagues.
Delicious and fun!! Loved the food, drinks, decor and belly dancer. It was just a little chilly in the restaurant - so I was cold but other than that we loved it and will be back.
We dined there on Saturday night. We’ve been many times over the years and always have had wonderful experiences there. However this was not the case this time. Even though we made a reservation earlier in the week, our table was right by the bar and it was totally missing the usual ambiance and atmosphere we are accustomed to. The food was good but we were disappointed the menu was changed. Over the years the menu has changed several times and we miss some of the more authentic cuisine that we used to get like the Sultan’s kadra lamb dish. We really wanted to impress our visiting guests and brought them to Tangierino but I don’t think they were. It was an ok night but not up to par.
This was a great find on a Friday night. Excellent Food and great ambiance. Can't wait to go back with a larger group.
Had a super delicious dinner here over the weekend. Love that there are little curtains that separate the tables. Especially when there are just two people sitting, sometimes the little tables feel SO packed together, and having the draperies separating the tables was such a good idea. Service was slow; I think they actually lost our appetizer order. But they apologized and corrected it once I asked. The food was superb. We had hummus with pita, which was amazing, and then I had lamb shank over couscous. So good. My friend had the chicken tagine with preserved lemon. So so good.
This Moraccan restaurant was located in a quaint little neighborhood within close walking distance from the Orange Line's Community College station. Noone in my group of seven had tried Moraccan food previous to this and were each pleasantly surprised! Our two servers where kind in providing wonderful recommendations! I had the mzoura tangine, served in a clay dish that kept the food warm as I savoured every delectable morsel, which I paired with a Moroccan Syrah! I appreciated that the venue was quiet enough to enjoy conversation with each other without having to contend with obnoxiously loud background distraction...I will certainly enjoy returning to Tangierino!
Nice atmosphere… Staff service excellent… Loud because a belly dancer… Food was excellent… The cave looks like a fun spot… We did not stay… We will visit it next time
We liked our meals- most of us got one of the tagines. They were very tasty, although we couldn't quite understand why they are no longer cooked with the couscous at the bottom to catch all the flavor. In fact, some of the tagines did not come with rice or couscous, so be sure to order a side. The meze were really nice, although the waiter was no help when asked what was in the Zaalook (which was terrific).
The little details got in the way of me giving 5 stars. Although the restaurant was nearly empty (on a Sunday night in the summer, that's fair), our empty dishes sat and sat and sat. Someone in our party had to call the waiter over to clear the dishes, it had been so long, but the job was not completed as there were still dishes in front of me when the baklava arrived and we had to ask again.
Unfortunately, we had to send the baklava back. Our family has had all versions of this dessert, and this was not good at all.
A number of times we asked the expeditor for a drink, or to order a side dish, but he always told us he would have to send over the waiter. which would take an extra 5 minutes.
All told, we enjoyed our meal, but we're not in a rush to return.

This is the cutest place ever. Seriously perfect for date night because it is charming and sultry- from the decor to the vibes to the food. Sit by the open windows on a nice evening and enjoy beautiful wine and exciting belly dancers. Dinner was fabulous- such quality dishes! Afterwards we headed downstairs to smoke hookah in their Cava lounge.
Such an amazing experience, can’t wait to go back!
Thank you for visiting - we are so happy to hear you enjoyed your experience with us here at Tangierinos! We are working hard to make sure our passion for food & hospitality shows. Thank you again, we look forward to your return visit!
Will never return. Horrible service. There were 6 of us celebrating a birthday and we got up and left after waiting 30 minutes for our drinks. This place has gone downhill.
Excellent atmosphere, great food, delightful staff and Owner very hospitable. A wonderful place overall.
Thank you very much, abcd. We so glad to hear you enjoyed your experience with us - come back soon.
Food was horrible
But the server and host are friendly people.
Great overall Experience with the music the culture of the food and service was exceptional and overall a lot of fun. I highly recommend it
Food is too sweet bland and pricey. Portion sizes were good. Perhaps this restaurant is for people who like their food sweet, for the hookah experience which is downstairs ( the smell still wafts up to the restaurant on the main level)
Really nice restaurant! The food was excellent as the service. I also recommend the lounge which is awesome. I will definitively come back!
Food is great and ambiance was very good initially however to get your attention on the belly dancer, the music was turned up to “night club” loud. Is it was to just get your initial attention then turned back down it would have been fine but they kept the volume turned way up the whole time. It ruined the ambiance.
Lovely place for a ladies night out!
We have been to this place a couple times with my husband a couple of years ago. Everything (service, food, etc) was excellent!
We went there for my mom’s 60th Birthday (it was a party of 7) and were so disappointed! We ordered drinks and my mom’s drink wasn’t good, we asked to change it, our waiter called for a manager who started to explain that they can’t do it, because liquor is expensive and she is loosing money. She agreed to do it as an exception after a few minutes. Since my drink hasn’t arrived yet at the time I asked our waiter if he could go easy on alcohol, he said the drink is done and he can’t change anything.
We were done with apps and all the plates were collected. Then we were waiting for 10-15 minutes for main course. When main course started to finally being served (all plates were covered), the waiter asked were to put the first plate, we asked what it is he said “I don’t remember, we are too busy today”. For the record there were just a couple of tables occupied. It was a slow night!
Whenever we were celebrating anything at the restaurant, a birthday girl/boy received a desert on the house. Here it wasn’t the case! We mentioned about Birthday when we came as well as I mentioned it in notes when making reservation.
The food was much better before as well as service! I don’t know if management changed since 2017, but whatever changes happed, they ruined the place!
Great service. Fantastic Moroccan food with a wonderful blend of spices. Moroccan black spice tea was excellent.
Amazing experience! Great service & entertainment.. celebrated a birthday and they made sure we all had a good time .. they all are very polite & friendly ..
Great the staff was wonderful
Well I've been wanting to try this pace for years since I like Moroccan food. The first thing we noticed is how empty it was early evening on a Saturday night. Not a great sign. My girlfriend asked for a cup of warm water and they said their coffee machine was broken. So much for that.
Appetizers were good. Chicken Bastilla was very good.
Main courses were filling but oddly without much flavor. Dessert selection is uninspired. Service was weird and price was EXPENSIVE! Stay away.
We had a delicious meal and the service was great. Bri was a very attentive server and Antoine made sure we had everything we need- even a wine decanter. We went to the cave downstairs afterwards and had a fabulous experience in the hookah cave with the same great staff! You will not be disappointed!
Amazing night for a birthday completed with a Moroccan mojito (or two) and a belly dancer :)
30 minutes to get drinks
Loose page menus some of us only had one sheet
We ordered the pita and hummus plate for 11$, and we were only served a half of pita. When we asked for more pita because we had A LOT of hummus left, we were told it would be 3$ for another half of pita. We politely declined because that’s absurd. We ended up eating our hummus with a fork and the bartender noticed. She went in the back and brought us another pita. We then watched someone yell at her for taking care of us like that. It was really uncomfortable. That was our first experience of the night. The service was mediocre, we waited a long time to be served drinks, order dinner etc. The entire evening we were planning on going down to the lounge and were never informed there was a spending requirement. We spent well over 200$ on our meal. In order to use the hookah lounge, you need to spend 35$ PER person. So we declined that and ended our evening. While waiting for an uber in the front lobby, we became witness to either a manager or owner berating an employee directly in front of us for 5 minutes. It was so uncomfortable. The unfortunate part of this is that the food is delicious but we will never go back and will not recommend this restaurant to friends.
Very cool place and the food is great
Thank you, Randy! We hope to welcome you back again soon.
This was my second time here, first time was 2 years ago, and the food was just as delicious as before! Service was outstanding and you can't go wrong with the beautiful decor and romantic ambience. Will definitely be returning soon!
I loved the ambiance of this place - they definitely stuck to their theme. However, the food was not great. The seasoning was light for most courses and the proportions were vastly different. Overall I'd go again but be more conscious of what I get.
Outstanding food with a great atmosphere
I’ve been going on and off to Tangierino for 10 years. It’s always been a fun place with great food... something must have changed however. We ordered my favorite items... lamb chop and chicken tagines. I don’t mind spending money for good food, but I do mind spending $38 for two of the tiniest, meatless lamb chops I have ever seen. The chicken in the tagine was almost inedible due to the amount of tiny bones that were in it. Flavor of both dishes was just ok. The service was good. 2-3 stars.
This is a great restaurant that has been around forever. Maybe they are kind of getting lost, now that a couple of new places have opened up in Charlestown and the surrounding area, but that to me is a tragedy. If you haven't tried Tangierino, you should give it a shot, and if you have tried it but haven't been back in a while, just think back to what you are missing.
The Lemony chicken tagine is one of the best dishes available anywhere.
Food was fantastic. Very sketchy that the pricing and packages on Valentine's Day changed 3x before we sat for dinner.
This used to be a good place. The quality of the food has, unfortunately, gone down.
This was our first visit. We were a bit concerned about some of the negative reviews on line but it was really good! The wait staff were very attentive, our seating was cozy and comfortable and the food was delicious! I had the vegetable cous cous, my husband had lamb royal and our friends had the lamb chops. We all agreed our dishes were flavorful and portions were more than enough. We also thought for the amount of food the price was reasonable. All in all it was a lovely evening! I would go again!
They ran out of food at 9pm on a Saturday night.
I made reservations. Poor planning.
The food was great and the staff was amazing. Will definitely visit again.
The server Rocco was phenomenal. He was understanding and supportive of our girls night out! He came
To our table the right amount of times and was always friendly. His recommendations were great.
Our waiter was very attentive. However although the restaurant was not busy, it did take an inordinate amount of time for our entrees to arrive. The valet was not in attendance and I had to back up three car lengths before someone would take the car keys. Although i was told the car check would be sent in momentarily, I waited 40 minutes for it to arrive after I asked the waiter to check on it for me. I was not notified at any time the charge for valet parking was $22 until I went to get into my car. Overall it was not a dining experience Inwould care to repeat.
Sorry for hearing this. Thank you for sharing your experience, and letting us know about what we need to improve in the future. We do have a sign outside and remind our guests about the Valet charging. Tangierino has belly dance, samba, and live band Thursday to Sunday. We hope you could come back and choose us again.
Need a better wine selection and have In stock what is on menu..
