Top restaurant. Always pleased I've been. Try a pint in the marques first. Top night out.
Great food and experience. Small venue so very loud when full.
Couldn't fault the food, as it was all amazing. The service on the other hand was very very rushed indeed and we were offered the menu and asked about intolerances before we had even sat down. We were then brought the full thali without even being asked about drinks or even ordering the drinks. Not once did anyone come to check on the table throughout our meal.
Food was nice - however some dishes were cold. The service is where this place is let down, very little or no customer service.
Small place with a lot to give! Have been following on Instagram for a while and finally got the chance to give it a go and already planning our next visit but a Sunday one next time!
Poor to very average food. Lacking taste.
Nice looking place - Basically it's Dishoom.
Lamp Chops were good as expected - Everything else a bit disappointing, but not dreadful.
Staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful - Borderline rude. Perhaps they are over-worked!
Great food and restaurant full on a Sunday evening which tells you how good the Tandoor Chophouse is. Only downside is the noise levels of everyone talking. Having said this, everything else is excellent.
I thought the food was very average, great for Instagram but the taste of the food wasn't great and it was cold. Also, we had the waiter approach is 3 times to clean out table when we were still eating, I felt as if we were getting kicked out only after an hour of our booking!
It was an absolute delight, sampling all the tasty menu options at the Tandoor Chop House. We dined at 17.00 and the place was filling up fast. We rather felt that we were being rushed through our meal, even though the restaurant website said that we would have our table for 2 hours. Portions were on the small side, but actually, I rather liked that. We were insure as to what some of the dishes were, so had to ask for guidance from our very friendly waiter, however, I did wonder whether it might have saved them a bit of time if the dishes listed had a description next to them. Considering that the portions were on the small side, it was a little expensive especially as you really needed a side dish or two to make your meal complete. Very tasty though!
Fantastic food, beautifully cooked and presented. The rib eye steak, black lentils and bread was a perfect combo! I will be back for more! Highly recommended!
Have been here several times already. The menu choice is modest but the food is excellent.
The attitude of our server let it down this time. He gave no help in drinks or menu selection just saying we should ourselves refer to the menu. We were also presented with the bill without asking. Turning tables was his priority.
Sitting in the corner by the front window we found it noisy and difficult to have a proper conversation. A more open table may have proved to be better.
I will return....... the food is too good!
Service was unfriendly. We were not welcomed and were made to feel that the restaurant was doing us a favour by seating us. With that kind of atmosphere it didn't matter what the food tasted like.
A good modern twist on Indian cuisine in a chic central London setting.
The food was overpriced for the portion size, the main looked like a starter.
Fantastic food, great service - would highly recommend!
Service could have been better especially from the host but food was great
Never disappointing. Possibly the best lamb chops in London
Great food, tastiest Indian I've been to in the centre of London.
First of all there’s there’s no parking around this restaurant and you have to come in train , the food is good but has very limited options . The chutney’s should be served free with starters or main course where they charged for it around £2 or £3 which I was not happy about . They do not have any good options for veg food apart from few items . Moreover the place is very warm and comfortable from inside but it’s like no privacy the waiters are standing right next to you every 10 seconds it gets very irritated and it’s just the hype because I don’t want to travel all the way in train
Fantastic food and service again and again. Always return here for excellent tandoori food.
Nice atmosphere, lovely friendly staff, just not quite what we were expecting food wise but that’s not the restaurants fault. If you’re looking for a place that does lots of little/tapas style dishes of Indian food this may be more for you.
Again lovely staff and great atmosphere.
Consistently good tandoori. Frequently visited . If only the had salads on side menu it would be even better. Good value but mind you are not tempted to order too many small and side dishes!
Don’t like the very poor lighting
The basis for a tandoor chop house is the tandoori chops. And these guys make the very best
Great ingredients, wonderfully cooked, served with a smile and good value. A really great restaurant experience. We will be back.
Been here a number of times now and the food is always really tasty - the perfect spot for a quick Indian lunch Thali :) I will be back the next time I am in London.
The chops are too good...the daal makni was not bad too
Very convenient for a pre-theatre dinner. We liked the tables for 2 along the wall so not too close to your neighbours - a mostly young buzzy crowd with cheerful service and a great selection of food.
One of our best meals in London
Starters and mains fab. AVOID DESSERT!!
Food was amazing but not as great as one would expect for the price you pay (£14 for one tandoor chicken dish). This is definitely a place to enjoy the quality and taste of the food, do not expect abundance as you usually would in an Indian restaurant.
It was so noisy, making conversation a huge strain.
The food is delicious, I will definitely go back! Service was very efficient and fast, and the staff were very friendly.
Very busy on a Friday lunch. Food was nice, if a little spare (lunch deal) and we were slightly ignored, in our little corner by the door. Out of sight, out of mind, I suppose!
Business meal. Went good but the atmosphere was very loud!
Food was good but it was all too rushed. We were seated late and then our starter was given to another delay which delayed us getting our food. We had only just finished our main meal when we were told the next customer was waiting so we had to leave. Shame as the food is very good but the time limit made the whole experience feel rushed.
Very cramped and noisy space. Table was so dark we had to use mobile phone torches to read the menu and we could barely see what we were eating when it arrived. £15 for three scallops hurt a lot. Food is OK but not as special as it should be for the prices. Overall experience was tense and uncomfortable. Would not go again.
This is not your traditional Indian restaurant, but it is a wonderful surprise of great food and wine in a more British ambiance. There are some familiar names on the menu, but just a little nuanced and more delicious. The best Tandoori lamb ever!
Good value with enough food to share, the only complain the portion size of masala fries was too little!! Otherwise everything was great, juicy grilled chicken, tender lamb chops, tasty grilled paneer, good selection of veg dish and salad. Especially loved the sweet carrot halva. Oh, and the masala chai tea is a must order item! Check out images from IG @tastyfoodbel
