A good modern twist on Indian cuisine in a chic central London setting.
The food was overpriced for the portion size, the main looked like a starter.
Fantastic food, great service - would highly recommend!
Service could have been better especially from the host but food was great
Never disappointing. Possibly the best lamb chops in London
Great food, tastiest Indian I've been to in the centre of London.
First of all there’s there’s no parking around this restaurant and you have to come in train , the food is good but has very limited options . The chutney’s should be served free with starters or main course where they charged for it around £2 or £3 which I was not happy about . They do not have any good options for veg food apart from few items . Moreover the place is very warm and comfortable from inside but it’s like no privacy the waiters are standing right next to you every 10 seconds it gets very irritated and it’s just the hype because I don’t want to travel all the way in train
Fantastic food and service again and again. Always return here for excellent tandoori food.
Nice atmosphere, lovely friendly staff, just not quite what we were expecting food wise but that’s not the restaurants fault. If you’re looking for a place that does lots of little/tapas style dishes of Indian food this may be more for you.
Again lovely staff and great atmosphere.
Consistently good tandoori. Frequently visited . If only the had salads on side menu it would be even better. Good value but mind you are not tempted to order too many small and side dishes!
Don’t like the very poor lighting
The basis for a tandoor chop house is the tandoori chops. And these guys make the very best
Great ingredients, wonderfully cooked, served with a smile and good value. A really great restaurant experience. We will be back.
Been here a number of times now and the food is always really tasty - the perfect spot for a quick Indian lunch Thali :) I will be back the next time I am in London.
The chops are too good...the daal makni was not bad too
Very convenient for a pre-theatre dinner. We liked the tables for 2 along the wall so not too close to your neighbours - a mostly young buzzy crowd with cheerful service and a great selection of food.
One of our best meals in London
Starters and mains fab. AVOID DESSERT!!
Food was amazing but not as great as one would expect for the price you pay (£14 for one tandoor chicken dish). This is definitely a place to enjoy the quality and taste of the food, do not expect abundance as you usually would in an Indian restaurant.
It was so noisy, making conversation a huge strain.
The food is delicious, I will definitely go back! Service was very efficient and fast, and the staff were very friendly.
Very busy on a Friday lunch. Food was nice, if a little spare (lunch deal) and we were slightly ignored, in our little corner by the door. Out of sight, out of mind, I suppose!
Business meal. Went good but the atmosphere was very loud!
Food was good but it was all too rushed. We were seated late and then our starter was given to another delay which delayed us getting our food. We had only just finished our main meal when we were told the next customer was waiting so we had to leave. Shame as the food is very good but the time limit made the whole experience feel rushed.
Very cramped and noisy space. Table was so dark we had to use mobile phone torches to read the menu and we could barely see what we were eating when it arrived. £15 for three scallops hurt a lot. Food is OK but not as special as it should be for the prices. Overall experience was tense and uncomfortable. Would not go again.
This is not your traditional Indian restaurant, but it is a wonderful surprise of great food and wine in a more British ambiance. There are some familiar names on the menu, but just a little nuanced and more delicious. The best Tandoori lamb ever!
Good value with enough food to share, the only complain the portion size of masala fries was too little!! Otherwise everything was great, juicy grilled chicken, tender lamb chops, tasty grilled paneer, good selection of veg dish and salad. Especially loved the sweet carrot halva. Oh, and the masala chai tea is a must order item! Check out images from IG @tastyfoodbel
Love the food here, and the service is always very good - friendly and efficient. Recommend the chaat starter and the classic tandoor chicken and sirloin steak mains.
Food was so lovely, I really recommend the lamb chops, very meaty and so tender! Masala fries are also really tasty. Love coming here, great service and fab food!
The food was fantastic, good drinks, lovely staff. Definitely recommending!
Really vibrant great place - fantastically tasty food HOWEVER if you have any vision problems you will struggle - it was so dark we had to use flashlights to read menu - we are only in our 50s but struggled to see our food!
Great reviews but food not amazing . It was a v busy Friday night but still important to keep standards high. Signature crispy lamb chop was not crispy and just about cooked. Still tasty food but could have been better
Food is outstanding and some excellent gin and tonics too. Had to wait a while for our table to become free despite booking which is the only thing that let it down but well worth the wait!
Maybe the best Indian I’ve had in London...one of the best meals to date
A must-try and a treat for locals and visitors alike. From starters to desserts, this intimate restaurant serves up creative, delicious dishes with Indian flavors and spices -- but it's not your usual curry house. We especially loved the House Tandoor Chicken, but you can't go wrong with the onion rings, spicy chickpeas or black dahl. The restaurant itself is in a great location in the West End, and has a warm, intimate style, which is made even more enjoyable by the engaging, top-notch staff. These are just some of the reasons this place was picked as one of Time Out's Top Restaurants for 2019, and why I will be back again (this was my second time dining there -- both times I have loved it!).
The food comes quickly and while the staff are amazing, they are keen to be very quick!
Amazing food at a reasonable price. Great atmosphere! Highly recommend!
Was a Monday lunch so was only half full which I was quite happy about as it’s quite a small restaurant, food was amazing I had the lamb chops which were succulent and so tasty Truffle and cheese nan bread was the best nan I’d ever had!! Be prepared as it’s not a traditional Indian in the sense that there is no curry or rice but don’t let this put you off as you won’t leave disappointed
I'm only not giving such a great review because they ran out of chops but they did explain that it was because of the thali special they do on a Sunday so fair enough...it meant I tried their pepper chicken which was excellent so not totally disappointed.
This is the second time I’ve eaten at the chop house, and I was rather disappointed this time. The bread I ordered was a thin, dry thing. We had to order Naan to compensate. My mushroom dish said pomegranate, well there must have been 3 seeds in total. It’s not cheap to eat here, so I was rather disappointed. The ambiance remains excellent though
We arrived much earlier than our booking and although they kindly accommodated us after 15 mins or so they were reluctant to give us a table despite there being many free tables at the time. We were seated at 7.45pm and were quickly informed that we’d need to return the table by 9pm. Our orders weren’t taken until 8pm and although the starters arrived swiftly afterwards, it was another 30 mins or so before the main courses arrived. At this point it was 8.40pm when we started eating our main courses and we had ordered a 3 course feast menu. Our desserts didn’t arrive until 9.10 and at this point we felt uncomfortable as the manager kept looking over to our table.
Although the food was enjoyable the service was poor and we felt very uncomfortable, the manager is clearly inexperienced and needs to reconsider his approach with customers. Unfortunately because of the poor service we received I will not be returning here and would not recommend it to others.
