We arrived at 7:30 on a Friday and they already had a few dishes that weren’t available. My friends ordered a chicken dish that was supposed to be chicken thighs, and it was chicken breast. Another friend ordered a medium rare hamburger that came well done. The beer on tap wasn’t working when we arrived. To many mishaps for early in a Friday. Nice music and nice ambience. But we won’t be back
Brunch on Mother's Day was very disappointing. Eggs benedict served with no hollandaise or garnishes. Overall food was very uninteresting and underwhelming. Music was nice but very loud. I have been for dinner and it was a completely different experience. Don't think I will be back for brunch.
The food was delicious. The service was lovely. The music was a little loud for Mother's Day, we would have preferred to be able to chat with each other and hear each other. If it were a night out with my SO, I would have enjoyed the music more.
The music and wine were great but the service and food were poor.
Live music, wine pairings, great place. Excellent food.
Great atmosphere and loved the wine pairings! Recommend.
One of our go-to neighborhood places. The food and wine are great, as is the live music.
GreAt food nice atmosphere have been here for both brunch and dinner. Will definitely be back
Great food, attentive service, and music on Friday and Saturday nights.
I have and will continue to recommend Tambour!!!
The food is amazing, the ambiance is wonderful, the service is very good and did I mention how fabulous the food is???
Food and service were both very good. Prices seemed normal for the neighborhood. We had some issues with our order but our waitress was very accommodating and fixed the problem easily. The only thing I wish they had a bigger menu or more specials but overall great experience and very happy we tried this place.
Tambour has it all!!! Great ambiance, friendly service and amazing food!!! What else would you want in a great neighborhood restaurant?
We were told they forgot to put our reservation which was frustrating. It was kind of a bizarre experience. The service got better once we were there for a bit. The food was phenomenal though.
We had a great evening at this small restaurant. 3 of the 4 of us got the room between which was spectacular. 4th got the Salmon which was also phenomenal! Highly recommend this restaurant!
We went at 6:45 pm so the restaurant only had a few tables filled. The servers were careless and literally forgot we were there to the point where after our entrees had been cleared for 25 minutes, someone came and asked if we were ready to order. The lack of attention to details was extremely frustrating. The owner's wife sat on a couch right next to us playing on her phone, not addressing the poor service or paying attention to her staff at all. We only found out there were specials when the owner told her waiter to tell the specials to her friends at the table next to us. The food was actually very good and the wine pairing was well advised in the menu as well, but the experience was so poor, we won't go back.
The wait staff needs a primer. I was trying to order something and the waiter just walked away. Another one asked us if we had gotten our appetizers yet while we were waiting for dessert. No one had any idea what food was going where in the restaurant.
The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. It is a bit pricey compared to other places in the neighborhood, but worth it in my opinion. I was there on a Friday night and there was live music. They were very talented and had a good sound, but the drums and amplifiers were overkill for such a small space. Something acoustic would be more appropriate for this space.
Very nice service. We were eating on the early side so there were many other tables. Food was good and portions were large. We had rice balls, kale salad and flatbread and lasagna. Tried the wine pairings which were interesting choices. Will go again
Two words: Live! Music! Went on a Saturday night for date night. The food was terrific as was the music. Must try the poached shrimp and the chicken. Light Warriors were the band and they provided a great night of entertainment. Cool sound and a great message. Spread love the Brooklyn way at Tambour.
Creative menu that may stretch too far-- the flatbread was delicious, but the burrata with red cabbage and hot honey had too much pickled cabbage and not enough hot honey, and the flavors didn't quite work together.
The salmon had a nice crust outside but was too overcooked at the edges to be medium. The vegetables underneath were pretty tasty though.
The wine list was quite diverse, and the Lebanese white was a winner.
What a great restaurant. Everything about it was exceptional. The owners and staff were pleasant and helpful. The space was comfortable the food was outstanding. We can’t wait to come back.
Tambour is in a still gentrifying neighborhood. All the staff were professional and welcoming plus the co-owner Amy was charming and friendly. They are trying to be a platform for the arts. The night we were there a jazz trio performed starting at 9 pm. It would be an ideal spot for wall art to be commissioned. My salad special (gem lettuce Caesar) and roasted carrots with a delicious cream fraiche side were delicious. Loved the oysters too and they were perfectly shucked (no remnants of shell.)
Go here for a date at 830 so you have time for quiet conversation then stay for the music after nine.
LOVED our rainy night dinner at Tambour. VERY friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food (chicken was unexpectedly wonderful), and terrific wines at reasonable prices. Can't wait to return and stay for the live music. Can imagine becoming a regular at this neighborhood gem.
Had the steak dinner for 2, tomahawk 40oz, burrata salad , asparagus and cheesecake. Dinner was overall great. Steak was cooked perfectly rare, but too fatty for my taste. Burrata salad was perfect. Asparagus was garlicky and just right. Dessert was delicious. Overall a great dinner. Music came to set up as we were done, around 9 pm. Would have liked the music to start earlier, 8 pm the place was already packed with customers.
Cozy, comfortable spot with a great wine list. Although the menu is not extensive, the food was excellent, and the live music was engaging without being overbearing. I highly recommend Tambour and hope to return soon!
