Very beautiful building and even more beautiful inside with all the art work on the walls. Very spacious location. Food is amazing!! Felipe, our server is the best! Uniforms are classy, white dress shirt & black tie, love it! Highly recommend this restaurant.

First time trying this place, absolutely loved it! Delicious food with great service! Definitely returning in the near future, as well as recommending the restaurant to friends and family!
Wonderful open air atmosphere. Valet parking and great food. If you like Mexican food it is a great place and is good for having large parties. Everyone that works there are hard working and kind. If you like great service, at least the times I have been there, which is usually three times a year, its been excellent!
Tamayo opened at five and we were there at 4:45. They greeted us warmly and allowed us to enter early. It turned out the entire restaurant was being rented out for a huge birthday party and we had reservations at one of the several tables in the section of the bar. Some would be put out by this but there is plenty of art in the bar and we could see the art in the main section from our seats. We were also allowed to walk around and view the art as the party had not begun. The food was amazing. The manager pretty much was at our table talking with us half the time and having the waiter bring us a taste of the mole. It was a wonderful experience to share with my sisters.
A perfect to celebrate any event, ie., Birthday. Great company, great food, great ambiance & excellent service!
Always a treat when dining there!! The atmosphere is amazing and the food is too!!!!
Tamayo is a lovely restaurant, and our server could not have been better. The chips and guac were delicious, but the rest of the food was so-so; I appreciated having the opportunity to choose a fish special, but the fish was overcooked.
Great food in an old feel LA restaurant. Tamayo was a very pleasant surprise, like stepping back in time when LA have fabulous restaurants and people dressed up. The atmosphere is casual yet I loved that the maitre’d wore a suit. Service was excellent and very friendly valet too. Food...superb!
Great food coupled with great service; couldn’t ask for more. Free valet parking was a great perk too.
Great food in a wonderful setting
The food is amazing. I had the large shrimp dish and the best in town
Great food, great service and a wonderful ambience surrounded by the great artwork of the Mexican artist Tamayo. Great for everyday dining to special occasions.
Ambiance is fabulous and service terrific. Food needs an upgrade. Guacamole was watery and had no taste. Portions are too big - quality instead of quantity.
One of my favorite spots in that area, always look forward to visiting there. Very classy, and friendly!
Beautiful space and excellent service. The wait staff was attentive, but not in an invasive way. Food, on the whole was good, but, as a vegetarian, I don't think I was able to experience the best of what Tamayo has to offer. With that said, there are vegetarian and vegan options. The dining room is beautiful and spacious and the paintings by Rufino Tamayo are not to be missed.
Just ok! Drinks and food! Expensive- for lunch and drinks.
The food was delicious and the service was great. It would’ve been better if our server had notified us that the kitchen would be closing so we could’ve had all options for dessert available to us.
Fabulous food, wonderful service and margaritas to die for.
Excellent Food and Service...we will definitely return!

Really wonderful “Historical Spanish LA” experience ! I love the food, building, and mostly the service. Sit in the bar at lunch if you prefer a little quiet. All in all an astoundingly brilliant display of the History , through an excellent gastronomic experience, fantastic architecture, and let’s not forget the art. The artist Tamiyo is whom the resturant is named after. The service is top notch too and they have gratis valet parking!
Roads getting there can be confusing , so I just get on E Olympic Blvd. and track to the address !
I am sure you will find the entire experience, delightful.
Tamayo is a true gem. Plentiful delicious food and a great menu. The service is very friendly. We had fajitas and a sampler appetizer. Everything was very flavorful. There was a great variety of salsa for the huge basket of tortilla chips. We had lots of food left to take home to enjoy a second time.
Tamayo had no record of my reservation despite the 2 emails I received from Open Table and a reminder text from Open Table that I confirmed the day before
Nice restaurant.
Had an excellent meal with Great service. We enjoy coming here and look forward to our next visit.
A three person business lunch went well, distinct salsas just OK Guacamole, tasty food all delivered with charm and excellence by several waiters that attended to us.
The space is beautiful. The whole staff is welcoming, polite and very accommodating. Most importantly the food is pretty exceptional. A great place for a special occasion!
The food was excellent starting from the chip and salsa to the deserts. The live music was nice.
Tamayo's has been consistently the best restaurant since the day that it opened. The service is supreme, the food is succulent and the ambiance is very relaxing for all occasions.
Excellent service, the food was very good and the ambience was very pleasant. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We had good food and ok service. We were sat right by the front door. It was cold and loud. Disappointing because we had made our reservations in advance. The menu changed and one of our favorite dishes was removed. We all had tacos of some sort. The guacamole and margaritas were amazing. One of my favorite spots before a show or in summer for their roof.
The food was delicious, but for some reason we were the only table seated in the entire restaurant that could easily seat 200 people. On a Friday night. Very strange.
Tamayos is also a great place for not only their food but their ambiance and service. Love this place!
