The food was absolutely amazing and arrived in a timely manner once we ordered. Staff members were friendly and accommodating from start to finish. Clean tables and great atmosphere. Definitely one of our favorite dinner spots!

We had reservations and were seated right away. We did the DD menu so we could sample many dishes from the menu. It was our first time there and absolutely loved it! Our son and daughter in law come here whenever they’re in town and always rave about it. I understand why. This might just be our new go to brunch place.

We enjoyed Tamayo and will be back. We were here for Sunday brunch.

The restaurant offers an imaginative menu at a fair price, especially for the brunch deal which is pretty much all you can eat. We ordered three dishes a la carte: a bacon-wrapped hot dog starter (alas, the dog was not warm), carnitas tacos and their take on eggs benedict (one of the three poached eggs was overcooked, the other two were perfect). Presentation and service were excellent.

The wine list is well chosen. We split a glass of cava (Spanish champagne) which was great and fairly priced.

The room itself if a bit tired.

Overall, we liked it.

Food was great, there were a couple dishes we didn't favor but the hittomless made it easy to get something new we like more. The service was very friendly and fast. Graham was our server and he was very nice and helpful. He was inviting and attentive.

We had a 7:00 reservation and actually showed up early and our table was ready, the only thing is it was upstairs their heated patio. Though heated it was still a bit chilly up there, most diners had coats on! But the margs were delicious the Tamayo marg is the only way to go and the food was yummy as usual.

Nice meal with fish tacos and enchiladas. Tried the queso, good but kind of left you with a lump of cheese feeling in your stomach. I would have like it more flowy and spicier. Tortillas were excellent tho

Tacos very good. Great spice rub on the fish. Enchiladas good, and tomatillo sauce was very tasty. Wish enchiladas would have been warmer to start with, tho. Barely warm when I got them.

Service was attentive and personable. Our guy Joel knew how to let things sit and when to check in. Nicely done!

Almost empty at 12:30P for lunch should've been a hint. I had come here a few times waaaay back when it first opened and recall feeling it had definitely gone downhill and stopped coming (like 10 years ago). The food was just "ok". For the price and the strongly recommended plate with three items, it came barely warm (enchilada) or cold (tamal). Flavors were solid but for the price the portion was quite small.

Server was great and the host kid was very nice. Too bad it just felt tired and boring. Just an all around huge shrug.

The menu was fixed for Valentine's Day and quite expensive at $60 per person. But everything about the meal was top notch. The food had a beautiful presentation and was delicious. Their margaritas are very good.

It seems the food choices are changing at Tamayo. It used to be that the dishes were more like Caribbean fusion. They now tend more Mexican. I found the food to be 3.5 quality (taste, presentation) but not of the same standard I came to expect 5-3 years ago. I would still rate the overall experience 4-star, but less enthusiastically than before.

It is a bit pricey, especially if you order drinks but my salmon was fabulous. Yummy mole and the fish was perfectly cooked. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Restaurant is noisy so can be hard to hear sometimes, especially when the servers spoke very quietly over my head. Overall, a lovely time was had by all.

Our food was so poor, we most likely won't be going back any time soon. It's Mole festival and I love mole. Our server recommended the white mole with chicken. when it arrived to our table, it was barely warm. the chicken was dry, and there was hardly any Mole sauce--what small amount I tasted was incredibly bland--not spicy at all. My husband had the mole enchiladas which he felt were also very bleh. They have a promotion online that if you sign up for their emails, you get a free house margarita. Don't bother! Because they know it's the free margarita, there was literally NO tequila! I had 2 and never tasted or felt a drop of alcohol. One thing we've always loved at Tamayo is their margaritas-- which normally are risky to drink 2. HUGE disappointment; don't think we'll waste another night of our lives at Tamayo. So sad, we've been customers for over 12 years.

Like many Denver restaurants the prices have gone up and quantity of food has decreased. It’s really unfortunate. My dinner was tasty but the price was excessive. It’s just not worth it to eat downtown anymore. I guess the burbs are where it is at now. Or at least avoid Larimer . Sad statement .

Extremely slow service. Likely due to a convention in town but it was really frustrating to watch 3 tables next to us get much more prompt attention, service, drinks, appetizers, & food. 2 of the 3 were seated after us which topped it off.

My husband and I had dinner at Tamayo for our anniversary. For appetizers, I had the sweet squash soup, which I would highly recommend, and my husband had the queso fundido, which he loved. For the main dish, I had the pork carnitas and my husband had the carne asada. These are our normal stand bys and we weren’t disappointed. We both loved our food. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse pie with peanut butter crust and he had the bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream.
The food here has many levels of flavor. Some combinations are unexpected but are always delicious.
The wait staff is very conscientious and quite good. The only negative is that the decor is rather tired and needs refreshing.

We have dined at Tamayo several times - and it is the only restaurant in Denver where the food has been outstanding every time. We have dined at many of the 'top-rated' Denver restaurants along Larimer and have been disappointed every time - but not Tamayo. Usually it feels like there are probably 'cooks' in the kitchen - but not a chef. At Tamayo, to me, it feels like a chef-inspired AND prepared meal! So refreshing! We ordered chips and guac - the guac tasted like homemade - fresh made - it was served with a smoky, lightly-spicy blended salsa. I ordered carnitas and my husband ordred the crab and shrimp enchiladas. Both dishes had layered flavors, were served hot (this is such a pet peeve of mine - virtually all the time when we dine out - the food arrives lukewarm for at least one of us!), and were prepared (cooked) to perfection. The only complaint my husband had was that he wished there were more enchiladas! Wait staff were polite and efficient. I do not drink alcohol because it is a migraine trigger - but my husband had a mojito and said it was perfect. Wait staff kept my water glass filled - which I appreciated immensely. My last comment is that most Mexican restaurants make their dishes overly spicy - with hot/hot peppers that bomb out your taste buds to the subtlety of flavors in Mexican cuisine. The dishes we had at Tamayo were flavorful without relying on over-hot/spiciness - allowing the layering of flavors in the meat, the sauces, the blending of spices and the garnishes to shine. There was a mild kick - but not the bludgeoning usually found at most Mexican restaurants. Kudos to Chef Sandoval for staffing this restaurant with competent chefs/cooks and for dishes well conceived, well prepared, and well served.
