   We went for brunch as was advertised on the website for the holiday weekend. But there was no brunch on Monday 05/29. The website was very confusing, definitely seemed like they had a special brunch on Monday. We weren’t the only party confused by this either. Food was decent but service was very slow. Over all it was a bummer

   We ordered the bottomless brunch, and did not think the quality of the food or the variety of the food options, were worth the price. Especially when something as basic as guacamole was the only thing not included as part of the unlimited food. One of the dishes we ordered was supposed to have a poached egg but it was so over cooked it was practically hard boiled. The location and inside atmosphere seemed great and our server was attentive, so maybe a regular lunch or dinner here would be great. Just wouldn’t recommend the brunch

   The location, ambiance and service were excellent. Our sever and other staff checked on us many times. Food was good but underwhelming. Bottomless brunch is misleading. Guac isn’t included, only basic morning cocktails included. We ordered flavored (highly recommend prickly pear) margaritas. Had two each, 2nd round was a pretty light pour.

   Service was absolutely excellent. Our server was fabulous and all the other people helping out were great. Really excellent service. Unfortunately the food doesn’t match; small portions, very elevated prices. 3 small street tacos were $17. Wife for a Chili Relleno that didn’t have any cheese on it. My skirt steak was great, and the mole enchilada was good, but it was $30 and was a fairly small portion all told. The drinks, though, were fabulous. Caipirinha was beyond awesome. Coin Marg was absolutely spot on. The food just doesn’t match what you’re paying for, so overall not my fav.

   Pricey for Mexican food, if you’re a Californian you may have sticker shock for what you actually get. Food is good just sure it’s worth the value.

    Very busy place downtown! Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Great guacamole. Conversation at our table was a challenge due to noise level. Food was tasty and we had plenty of time to comfortably get to the theater. Make a reservation if you do not have time to wait!

    Overall, VERY happy we chose to visit Tamayo! I made a reservation, but we were going to be dining early (5pm on a Tuesday) so the restaurant had quite a lot of open tables. That being said- those tables filled up! There seemed to be a lack of urgency from the host to get back to the host stand- wound ip waiting several minutes as he meandered his way back, stopping mid way, along the way- but, we were seated and our server was more eager to check on us. I ordered La Tampiquena (the most expensive item- of course) and it was sooo worth it! Tender skirt steak, seasoned wonderfully!!! Very good (and justified as a splurge, since I have never been here before) My friend ordered the carne asada tacos (3) and said they were delicious. I understand that this is “elegant Mexican” but to charge for beans and rice is always laughable! That’s not a lot of food cost😄 Overall- I have no hesitation with recommending Tamayo! I would say that they could just add beans and rice IF the customer wants- not automatically- as some people wouldn’t want it anyways.

    Great house margarita! # salsas with chips for an appetizer were interesting - my dining partner enjoyed all the salsas:) We had shrimp enchiladas & chicken enchiladas which were fabulous! Our server CJ was terrific but the incredible noise from a huge table of 18 about drowned us out - very difficult to converse.

    Decent experience, I would say the flow of food and drinks could’ve been better. They limit you to two hours but often had empty cups and plates. Wish we could’ve experienced it a little longer.

    Booths and tables are small, menus are huge and take up all the space. Saw 3 mice throughout dinner. Probably won’t be back.

    The margaritas are tasty, and the food isn’t BAD, it just wasn’t very good, especially for the price. The bacon guacamole was bland, but the salsa is came with was tasty. The birria tacos honestly just didn’t meet my criteria for what a birria taco is (the tortillas weren’t dipped and fried on a griddle like they should be, and there was little/no Oaxaca cheese). The tacos themselves were also small too expensive for what they were. My partner had the short rib, and it was pretty delicious. So maybe I just ordered wrong.

    The service was great. Had the cheese appetizer with chips and fresh tortillas and chili sauce which was really good. The Mahi mahi tacos were amazing. Highly recommend. I will definitely be coming back to Tamayo. Reasonable prices for unique great Latin cuisine.

    Our first time there and we really enjoyed the Bottomless Brunch option! The food and drinks were really good. And service was great too. They checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything. And everyone was friendly too. We will definitely go again. We went prior to attending a show at the Buell.
