Great service with Lindsey. Food was delicious.
Great deals , wonderful service and brunch is amazing!
I put on our reservation that it was a birthday and engagement celebration and it wasn’t mentioned at all. I always love tomayo but this time wasn’t great.
Chicken Enchiladas are the best in Denver
One of my favorite brunch’s in Colorado. It can get loud in there when it is busy but the service, food, and atmosphere is always great!
I went on Saturday night as a party of seven. It took more than ten minutes for our waiter to come to the table but only to say he would be right with us. We only had one drink menu for the seven of us to share. The floor beneath the table was dirty. Ten more minutes go by and our waiter comes to take our drink order. Another ten minutes later we have our drinks but our waiter does a "drop and dash". Dropped off our drinks and didn't even take our food order. After twenty minutes and devouring all of the chips and salsa, we gave our menus to a passing expediter because they in our way, and had no place to put them. Ten more minutes later we see our waiter. For joy! No. He takes away one plate from the table next to us (directly. next. to. us) and walks away. Never looked at us. Finally, my friend went up to the front and asked for the manager. The manager went and found our waiter who came back to the table and exclaimed,"there appears to be a problem, ladies?" I told him we were well ready to order our food. He said he was well ready to take it. I'm glad he needed forty-five minutes to get ready. The food arrives about twenty minutes later. Three friends ordered the mahi tacos. They said the fish was tough and not flaky like you would get. Looked like a cheap cut. Two of us got the carne asada. At least the meat came out perfectly medium rare like we ordered. That was about it. The side of veggies that came with the carne asada was just awkward. I really don't think a room temp green bean mixture goes with carne asada. My friend did like her mushroom enchiladas and my other friend liked the salmon dish. I tried the salmon dish and the fish was overpowered by seasoning.
All in all this was a very disappointing meal with horrible service. Such a shame because this was our big night out and wanted some place special to go as we are rarely even in the same state together.
I would not recommend this establishment.
side dishes were never brought out - due to still cooking
We had a reservation and still got put in the very back of the restaurant when there were plenty of open tables at the front. Food came out lukewarm and did not have much flavor.
The best experience I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time!!! Everything was beyond expectations.
Great food- terrible service. Party of 3. Apps came 5 min apart and sides came at the end of the meal. Had to get host to find utensils. Won’t bother again.
Their frozen margaritas are back, and they are as good as ever. We hadn’t been for awhile and were thrilled to find these back on the menu. The food and service was excellent, as usual.
We were disappointed. Tamayo used to be a fave of ours but the food and service have seemed to slip... the food was just all right and the server barely made eye contact with us when he was speaking to us
Great service, food and atmosphere. Ate here prior to show at buell theatre, 2 block walk. Guacamole unique, crab and shrimp enchiladas wonderful!!
Great food, excellent margaritas and affordably priced.
We had a perfect mother’s day brunch at 11:45 on the roof top patio. Food was fast & excellent. Service was amazing. Great server. I forgot his name but blonde younger man, glasses and some tattoos on his arm. He was sweet to our kids and on top of it! We will definitely return!
We had concert tickets at the Pepsi Center and wanted a place close by for dinner before the concert. Tamayo was a perfect location. We sat on the patio and it was great. Especially loved the margaritas and guacamole
An inventive approach to brunch. The food was great and kept on coming..
perfect for date night. the sangria and guacamole are delicious and I always enjoy trying the chef tacos
The food was fabulous. They were busy and maybe short of staff. Service was slow.
Good food and service. Was very loud, so hard to have a conversation.
The authentic, delicious food and friendly staff made our birthday celebratory meal a wonderful experience. Both our waiter and the manager made extra efforts to welcome us and bring a personal touch to our visit. My friends from Mexico City were delighted!
We went to Tamayo before our show at the Buell. Dinner, appetizers were fantastic, as well as my mango margarita. Service was outstanding (server was friendly and very attentive) and we got one of the quieter tables in the back because we had our youngest with us. Because it was my husband’s and daughter’s birthday, they got complementary desserts (a churro like pastry with ice cream and raspberry sauce), which were amazing!! The dessert, and presentation of the desserts (sparklers on the desserts) really put the night over the top.
We went here for Sunday brunch. The food and service were excellent! Can't go wrong with bottomless margaritas and bottomless menu items!
Great food! Went for brunch, beautiful view from the rooftop. Excellent house crafted Bloody Mary, excellent eggs Benedict, loved everything! We will definitely be back.
The food and drinks were absolute ly delicious, and the service was spectacular as well. The chefs were kind enough to accommodate my (slightly picky) dietary requirements even though it was a busy night. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the old downtown on a warm spring night. Will definitely keep this place in mind next time I'm in Denver and will recommend to anyone who goes there.
The service was as good as the food, and we easily walked over to see a play after dinner.
As early diners, we appreciated a considerate waiter being timely, but not rushed, on a Friday evening. Thanks very much!
Food was great, and the rooftop was really cool.
Tamayo never disappoints. Even with all the amazing restaurants in Denver, we return to Tamayo again and again. Tacos and margaritas are great and their salsa is “spoon-worthy”. Abundant parking across the street makes things easy. 10 minute walk to Pepsi Center.
Lindsey made our special occasion all the more special! She greeted us warmly, laughed at our silly jokes, and helped us celebrate my out-of-town sister's birthday with that personalized touch that made us feel as if we were the only ones in the room. She's the best and we'll definitely be back. That food -- yum! Guacamole and chips -- yum yum!
Our server was really fun & great! The sweet corn guacamole and queso fundido are to die for!!! We wished we had way more room in our tummies!
I’ve been eating at this restaurant since it opened back in the 90’s. It has always been my go to for south western food. However today was disappointing. The food was bland and the noise level was almost unbearable. The Tamayo margarita was boring. Pick up your game!
The food and drinks were not good!
They could not find out Open Table reservation but accommodated us. Everything was amazing. We had the Sangria, guacamole with bacon, seafood enchiladas, pork tacos, and the dessert empanadas which were to die for.
Went for our anniversary and sat on the open upper level. Nice views of UCD and the mountains. The food was very good. The Guac was very good and they brought a brown pepper dip that was to die for. The entre's were delicious and they brought ice cream on a big plate decorated with Happy Anniversary. Very nice meal--thank you.
The coffee rubbed carne asada melts in your mouth. Highly, highly recommend.
Poor service. When asked what the taco special was I was just told “steak” and he walked away. Waiter was rude and basically ruined the meal for us... I honestly hate I’m writing this, but very poor representation for this restaurant which I’m sure has some quality staff.
Tamayo is our go to restaurant when we have friends or out of town guests. It is always great food and such a great atmosphere. The staff are also very informed and helpful.
Tamayo was excellent in every way! We sat on the patio upstairs where we got a lovely view of the sunset. The food was delicious and so very authentic. We took advantage of the taquiza special - essentially a taco party at your table. The meats were so delicious and perfectly cooked. The other ingredients and toppings complimented the meats. It was all just impeccable and the chef even came out to check in on us and make sure we were enjoying the taquiza (we were!). The overall service was attentive and efficient.
