Absolutely love love love this restaurant. My wife and I favorite restaurant.
My husband and I shared the "samosa chat" for an appetizer, which were delicious! They are a bit spicy, but very good! We both got the "Hyderabadi Chicken", medium, with garlic naan and Jasmine rice. Everything was super yummy! We took another couple who had never been there before, and they loved it as well.
Great find! So glad we took a chance. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is very authentic and the food was amazing. We tried all the naan varieties and they were delicious. All the foods were just the right amount of spice, and they were very careful to ask us if we were satisfied with the spice levels. I really liked the way they wanted to make sure it was right. I would definitely visit again.
We were a party of 10, celebrating a couple of special occasions. Being an Indian family, we were thoroughly impressed with the authentic and variety of tastes presented at the buffet. It was also nice that we were able to have the corner area in the back since we had a handful of children with us. We really enjoyed our time, and are grateful for the experience. We always enjoy our time at Tamarind. Thank you!
Very good food for everyday Indian.
A decent place which serves good tasty food. The ambience is okay and the service is okay too.
Food not that great , I ordered lamb was kind of dry .
My husband and I have been to Tamarind three times now and the food has been excellent everytime. In addition, the servers are very nice and also very helpful. If you don't know what something is, they'll take the time to provide pictures and explanations. We also like the noise level in the place. There is plenty of conversation going on throughout the place, however it is always at a respectable level so that carrying on conversations within your own party are easy. The only reason I gave this place 4 instead of 5 stars is that the decor is just a bit on the cheesy or lower-end side. I'm not referring to the Indian decor, just more of the tables having a sort of plastic coating on them (not tablecloths) and things like that. You don't want to take a date expecting high-end atmosphere and then be disappointed. That said, the lighting is subdued and they do put candles and flowers on the tables to try to counter that, making the ambience just a bit odd. It does help keep prices down though and my husband and I will continue to go for the great food and people.
Great meal and service. Our order got mixed up but they gave us the wrong food as the made the right food (wrong food cost more). So delicious!
Warm staff and amazing food! They accommodated a group of 17 very well!
This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in East Orlando. The food is very good and the service is always so attentive.
Great food. Quick and Friendly service.
Great food, definitely the best Indian food in town!!
The food is always very good. The waiters are somewhat timid, but always very courteous.
Absolutely friendly staff that was very attentive to our table. Great food and service. This was a great way to end a busy day at work.
This is a nice small spot located on E. Colonial, but don't be fooled! The outward appearance does not compare to the quality of the authentic Indian cuisine they serve. My spouse and I came here for a date night because we wanted to try something new and exciting. We were not disappointed. If you like spicy food this is definitely the place to go!
The food was terrific. The service was slow and chaotic. The noise in the restaurant from blaring Indian music and nonstop ear piercing shrieking from small children in the restaurant made it impossible to talk or enjoy ourselves. We could not wait to get outside to the quiet of a nearby busy 6 lane highway.
This service was excellent staff were friendly and the food was good ...
Good food, taste and service.
Good curries and bread. Chutneys were fresh and plentiful. Samosas were very light and tasty. Seasoning tends toward Pakistani vs Indian.
The service and food were excellent. We were visiting our son at UCF and found this small place on open table. The food was very tasty and the Naan was hot and slightly crispy. Don't let the looks from the outside fool you.
Tamarind is an absolute gem. I enjoy Indian food but cannot handle excessive spice. That's why I love Tamarind's mild level which has all the flavor without any of the sweat.
Enjoy authentic Indian food served in inventive presentation.
Amazing Indian cuisine! Great menu selection at a reasonable price. Would recommend for lunch buffet and evening dining.
Delicious food and very good service. Portions tend to be small, but that is standard for Indian fare.
Excellent meal. Food quality and taste was superb. Service was friendly and timely.
Tamarind was experiencing a power outage when I visited. I agreed to wait the ten minutes management asked, to see if power came back on. Wait staff brought water, but offered nothing else. I understand the kitchen couldn't make anything, but nothing? Management was apologetic, but made no effort to keep me or entice me back once they had recovered power. . What made the situation worse was witnessing how accommodating management was with diners who had received their meals before the power went out. After waiting twenty-five minutes, I gave up.
This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Orlando. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and great traditional decor. The food is excellent, very spicy too! The portions are kind as well. I love all their soups. They have a very nice lunch buffet as well for just $10.55. If you go, the lamb and potatoes is a must try dish!
