Layers of phyllo dough with walnuts, baked and topped with syrup and pistachio nuts.
Peynir ve zeytin meze (Cheese & olive platter)
Turkish feta, aged Kasar cheese, olives, cucumbers and tomatoes.
Steamed dumplings stuffed with ground lamb and beef served in a yogurt and garlic sauce.
Food was generally hood but a bit pricey. Deserts were so-so. I would go back again but focus more in their specials.
It was wonderful returning to this excellent restaurant after more than a year. The food is wonderful, especially the iskander which is only available a couple times a week. The service was really good. The noise level is back up to loud because the place was packed. Its great to be back.
Service was great. Cool little restaurant. We had the olive & cheese appetizer, as well as tomato & cucumber salad. Also the dumplings with vegetables & zucchini fritters. House bread and dip was awesome. For our mains my husband had the roasted tomato & vegetable baked casserole with shrimp & I had the grilled chicken on creamy eggplant. Best meal we’ve had in a long time. I highly recommend!
Servers knowledgeable of celiac. Only two servers plus host. Eat early
The service was not as good as it has been in the past, but then we were there during graduation weekend, so it's to be expected. Food was good, as always.
My wife and I had the 3-course, prix fixe dinner, with some interesting choices for each course. The service was excellent, we were given a private-like cubby, and the food was very good, though a bit pricey.
My first time at this charming spot, but will not be the last. Beautiful rugs on the wall make the room feel cozy and keep the noise level comfortable. All the dishes were delicious. The Turkish salad and the grilled whole fish were outstanding.
Great food. Very fun space. Service was prompt and polite.
The food did not dissapoint at all! We will definitely be back.
Lovely as always. Thank you for making time for us to sit in the alcove. Dinner was perfect.
I surprised a group of students and Tallulla’s was perfect for safe outdoor dining. The only thing lacking was more people working. The restaurant was pretty full and they were only about three or four people taking orders and serving. Despite that though we were able to order plenty of different toppers and enjoyed so many different dishes. Everyone got to try some thing we had a leisurely dinner and really enjoyed the location. And on Saturday nights Chapel Hill has live music downtown which is amazing. We highly recommend the Mazze platter the chicken and the cheese pide and the eggplant casserole dish. They had a great special of a whole branzino that we enjoyed as well.
Awesome yet again
Food is always spectacular and interesting. Great place for Turkish flavors.
My sons birthday.
The food was really good. Something outside of the traditional eats.
Can get a little pricey though.
Service was great.
Delicious Turkish food cooked by a family that really cares. Homemade bread (I ate almost the entire basket) with a tasty, peppery dipping sauce starts all meals. The special of the day — imported fresh anchovies were succulent. Wish I lived in Chapel Hill so I could return often.
We visited last year and had a great meal. This time food was barely warm, tasted as if it had been just heated up in microwave. Seasoning and flavor not there. Must be new chef or owner.
Cocktails were too sweet.
Service awful. The waiter got too busy inside. We won’t go back.
A lot of money for a bad meal and service.
Delicious food and good portions. And while the servers were absolutely splendid and polite, a few things were amiss - forgetting serving plates with the appetizers, bringing out the paid receipt without a pen until we asked for one.
The food and service were both outstanding. There is something on the menu for everyone.
Talulla’s is great for a special meal. The ambiance inside & out is relaxed, but also feels like a treat.
Talulla's ALWAYS delivers a great Turkish dining experience in an atmosphere that is warm, and as inviting as the proprietor and her staff! It's original food, with caring and attentive service in great but casual Turkish inspired "digs."makes it a "must go-to" in Chapel Hill-- whether one is a resident or visitor!
Fantastic food. I had the moussaka and my partner had a lamb skewer. The bread and dipping sauce were superb. Make reservations on Friday and Saturday.
Great meal, beautiful carpets on the walls. Strong drinks, great wine selection, comfortable space to have a private visit with someone special
Every time I come to Chapel Hill I eat here. So good! Great environment and they currently have outdoor seating which was lovely. I could eat their bread every day.
Talulah's is always a wonderful experience. Great food and great atmosphere.
The quality of the food at Tallulas was excellent. The menu is varied with many vegetarian options. The service was excellent, our server very helpful with explanations and advice. We were not rushed and enjoyed a superb meal in a comfortable space. We will certainly return for another meal in the future.
Finest food, polite staff , excellent service.
We ate outside at Talulla's and enjoyed the street vibe. Our waiter was attentive without being bothersome, and we had a very pleasant and delicious meal. My wife's whole sea bass was delicious as was my lamb shish kebab. We had a very reasonably priced bottle of wine and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. We will be back.
Moms 67th birthday. These guys always blow me away. The food and service is alway top notch. I love dining here. You can never go wrong the whole fish of the night.
This was our first meal in a restaurant in Chapel Hill since getting our vaccines. It was as great as we remembered. Can’t wait to go back
I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday. He grew up on Turkey and it’s been hard to find places that make Mediterranean and Turkish food the way he grew up eating it.
He was beyond thrilled with the food here. He ordered and ordered and ordered until we about popped. The prices may seem mid to high range but the dishes are very well executed and accurate to the Turkish flavor profile. The only thing missing that we had been looking forward to was Lahmacun. If they brought that back authentically we would eat there often.
Either way...we were happy with our experience and will definitely be going back. Thank you for making him smile and even cry with happiness.
We both had the specials—I had the lamb chop and my boyfriend had a whole fish of some kind. Food was great, could have used some more spice but that’s our fault for not asking for it. Service was good. We recommend it!
Best restaurant in Chapel Hill! Love the food and service, the people that run the place have a real respect for restaurant culture.
This restaurant is ALWAYS fantastic. The staff remembers us even if it’s been a whole year! The food is always superb and we always leave very happy. Great for a date night or a night out with friends.
Great food, you won’t be disappointed!
This place has always been a favorite. Good quality ingredients , excellent preparation and polite hostess, makes every visit worthwhile.
Excellent food and service. Always my favorite spot for authentic Turkish food.
The food is always very good. We love going there. They really treat you like family always welcoming. We have been going there for the past 10 years and food is always good never had a bad meal there.
Never had a bad meal here. Truly AMAZING and authentic Turkish food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff.
Nice ambience, the food was tasty and the portions generous. Our waiter was charming and welcoming. The Valentine's Day prix fixe menu was a tad on the expensive side, I feel like we could have gone to a much nicer restaurant for what we spent. The prix fixe menu was 45 a person but my girlfriend got Doner kebab which is essentially street food and the chocolate mousse dessert tasted like Jello pudding. That being said I would recommend the place, we go to a lot of mediterranean type restaurants and this stood out .
