   We got the restaurant week menu and were super excited to try this taco place since it’s LEYE. We got there and had horrible service and all our food came out cold and just tasted so mediocre and plain. Definitely was surprised as I have high expectations with lettuce restaurants- do not recommend coming here

   Great service and the specialty menu for restaurant week gave us fabulous food at a suburb price point. This gave us the chance to try out a new place, reasonably. We will be back!

    The ambiance and service was great! The only issue-the food! Not worth the money. Tried a variety of tacos and none of them were worth the money. Stay away from the fish and shrimp!

    The food was good and the waitress friendly, but she must have been overwhelmed because it took her over 20 minutes to take my order. Additionally, her follow up was lacking. I won’t go back unless there is a special event happening.

    We went there for the first time for my mother’s birthday and it was so awesome! She’s gluten free and could have almost everything on the menu... and she freaking loves tacos. She also loves salsa dancing and the complimentary Wednesday night salsa lessons was just the icing on her cake. The wait staff was beyond amazing and the food was delicious! We will be coming back again for sure!

    Go somewhere else! There’s a reason this restaurant wasn’t busy on a Saturday night and we should’ve turned around. The food isn’t made fresh. If I wanted guacamole plastic tub I would’ve gone to Jewel Osco. Whole the menu is fairly inexpensive, but it is not a good value. Getting very mediocre tacos (at best) for nearly $4 a pop. Food came quickly because the restaurant wasn’t full, but the wait staff was extremely slow. Definitely trusted the open table reviews for this choice and was let down. So I’ll be the one to say it, do not go you can find somewhere way better!

    I have been there before, not really the best so I stopped going. Some weeks ago I read a message from TallBoy about their new menu and new chef So I tried it again. It’s the same and even worse. The food is not fresh, the meat in the tacos very grease and not soft at all. Expensive for what you get. I left almost everything and... the rice not even to try it.

    The food was delicious. My husband isn't huge on eating Mexican food all the time, but he absolutely loved it. Since it was a beautiful perfect weather day, we sat outside on the patio. The drinks were good. Service was good as well. Would definitely go back again. Food is worth the money.

    Great specialty cocktails. Tacos are of a nice serving to be able sample different ones. Chips were freshly made. The salsa bar was small. We would have preferred pico de Gallo and salsa just served at the table.

    Wednesday night dance lessons was awesome. Grabbed some food and drinks and the. Headed to the dance floor. The bartender was so nice to let us leave our tab open while we danced

    My husband and I went here on a date night on a Saturday in March. We arrived on the early side and had our choice of seat. My husband was particularly happy about Happy Hour special (Saturday $5 mojito, which was excellent), which ran from 5-7 pm. For apps, we had the guac, chips and salsa, and queso. We enjoyed all of them and liked that there was a salsa bar where you could get various salsas with different heat levels. I really enjoyed the queso, which was rich and flavorful. We also shared about 8 tacos between the two of us. The standouts were the crispy shrimp taco, the beer-battered crispy fish taco, the pulled chicken tinga taco and the cowboy 12hr smoked brisket taco. The only one I would not order again was the carne asada taco, which was too dry. For dessert, we shared a churro, which came with a caramel sauce my husband really enjoyed. The churro was clearly made fresh and had a nice crispy outside and a soft middle. Waitstaff was pleasant and attentive, the restaurant and bathrooms were clean, and the music was lively without being overpowering. March Madness was one the TV screens, but none of the patrons seemed to come specifically to watch the game; TallBoy doesn't have a 'sports bar' vibe. This spot seems to get busy starting around 6:30-7 and was popular with groups. We spend just over $60 before tip and thought it was reasonable for the what we received.

    The ambiance and the atmosphere were nice. The waiter was very nice as well. However, despite the low number of people inside the restaurant at the time our food took awhile to come out. When we got our tacos they were cold and the salad was not worth it for the price.

    The tacos were small, but the price per taco said it all. We ordered the chips and salsa, which is unlimited. Need less to say, The food was amazing! As for the drinks, We ordered a full size pitcher of margarita. While $65 may seem a lot, we were able to get 3 full glasses each between the 4 of us. So I would say its about 12 servings total! We loved the ambiance and the wait staff was very kind!

    When we got there, they stated that they did not have our reservation (even though we did reserve). However, an employee worked to move around tables to get us seated- it was great!! I loved the service and the food. Also, the decor is great!

    Probably the worst service I have ever had. We got the restaurant week menu. Didn’t even get the third course because the service was so bad, and our waitress didn’t seem to care or know. Not one person came to our table for a good 25 mins after eating. We finally got the check and it was wrong. Asked if we had a table and what our waitress name was to get it fixed, but we didn’t see our waitress since she dropped the food. That took another 10 mins to get that fixed. They have a lot of people working there, but no one seems to do anything. Avoid at all costs.

    I've given TallBoy a few tries now because of the good reviews, figuring maybe that what I ordered was lackluster but their other good would be great. It's not bad, but there are many other taco places I would go to before TallBoy. In a city with food this fantastic, I was a bit disappointed.

    Nice happy hour special on a Friday night. Sat at the bar and had fast service while most of the staff were setting up for the night. Tacos and a salad were good. They have an extensive coctail list.

    Tacos were VERY average...the brisket tacos were almost too heavy with Smokey flavor and were fatty. The shrimp in the shrimp taco was good, but there was too much vinaigrette so it became soggy and very acidic. The chips and guacamole were delicious. I didn’t take advantage but I like that the chips and salsa are bottomless...would be a good happy hour place to meet up with friends.

    A couple of friends and I went here before heading over to a show and we had a great time. We had there agua frescas and they were delicious. Watermelon was my favorite. For dinner we had a variety of tacos and my favorite was the fish taco. Great place to hang and catch up.
