Everything about Taline is amazing. Food, service, owners. We live about 3.5 hours away, and we have made 2 trips to Toronto now just to dine here.

I visited Taline on my own as a birthday treat and, unfortunately, left feeling very disappointed—both with the service and the quality of the food. I chose the Summerlicious menu and ordered the Tsoug (grilled fish, sayadich, tahini, pickled shallot) as my main. What I received was an extremely thin portion that was mostly fish skin, with maybe 3–4 full bites of actual fish. To make things worse, the very first bite I took was full of bones. It was unsettling and made me nervous to continue eating, as I genuinely could’ve choked. Trying to discreetly spit out bones in a restaurant setting was also quite uncomfortable. When the server came to clear my plate, I politely mentioned that I had gotten a mouthful of bones and wasn’t sure if that was expected. She said she would let the chef know—but that was the last I heard about it. No apology, no follow-up, nothing. I’m giving two stars because the dessert was genuinely good and surprisingly the most generous portion of the night. After tipping at the lowest preset option, my total came to $118. I walked out feeling dismissed, unsatisfied, and regretting that this was how I chose to spend my birthday evening.

We had a great experience at Taline - we opted for the Yalla Per Menu option with a few dietary restrictions and the chef catered to it well! The presentation of the dishes were great and the wine recommendation given paired well with the dishes! Definitely would recommend a visit and many more!

The owner personally brought us his choices which were perfect. It is not an inexpensive restaurant but worth every penny. Will go again and again.
