Had a lovely ladies night trying all 5 pastas on the menu, plus focaccia and a variety of drinks. Everything was delicious. The service was great. The ambiance is really nice with high ceilings and interesting artwork but still feels cozy with the booths. The only annoyance was that there were plenty of spaces available for us to sit but we were seated closest to the rotating door entrance so kept getting blasted by cold air every time people entered or exited. Part of our party was already seated when we arrived so we didn’t want to make it an issue and move everything to another table but we were surprised they would have chosen that table for us with advanced reservations, the cold, etc. We still had a great time overall and would return!
A great place for a romantic dinner. Good food and great service.
My boyfriend and I had dinner tonight and it was our first time ever eating here. 10/10, great food, great experience, and amazing staff. Tables were blocked off to comply with COVID restrictions, so we were seated far from others.
We had the focaccia bread with balsamic to start, small arugula salad (with the bestttt most unique mint vinaigrette dressing!) and small Caesar salad, and each got our own Margherita pizzas. Can’t wait to go back and try the gnocchi next time!
Amazing food. Wonderful ambiance. Great drink selection. Perfect for a dinner with those that you can share with. So many great plates.
Beautiful restaurant with excellent service and an outstanding dining experience.
Service was good; staff is extremely upbeat and affable. The food is okay - nothing to write home about. Cocktails and wine list are top notch.
This was the first time we have tried this restaurant and read many good reviews about the food and service prior to making our reservation. We enjoyed our experience very much and would definitely go there again. I had the arugula salad and my husband had the mixed green salad and both were excellent. We chose 2 of the specials for our entrees: I had the mahi mahi, which was perfectly cooked along with a variety of vegetables and my husband had the basil/ricotta ravioli which he found to be excellent as well. Before making a final entree selection my husband had just a brief moment of disappointment when he found out they did not offer spaghetti and meatballs, his usual Italian dining selection. However, the menu did offer meatballs as an appetizer/small plate offering.
The food was great! Wine was fabulous! This is one of my favorite downtown restaurants. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Very charming decor and an amazingly friendly waitstaff. The drinks were absolutely delicious and I never knew Prosecco from the tap could taste so magnificent.
Server was engaging and helpful
Everything was excellent - food, drinks, and service.
We were sat immediately with a reservation, and our waitress was attentive and polite. Our wine glasses were always full, and the meal came out within 30 minutes of ordering it. Hats off to the kitchen staff- the food was delicious & came out with an instagram-worthy presentation! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for date night or a dinner with friends
Great experience!
This dinner was a gift to my mom for her 50th Birthday. And, it was perfect. She truly enjoyed herself and the food was delicious! I have never had a bad experience there, so I plan to keep coming back to enjoy myself with company.
We visited Italia on a week night when they were limited by law to 25% capacity. Nevertheless, they had plenty of staff and their full menu was available. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Everything was cooked to order and was served promptly.
Pastas were properly al dente and the sauces were well balanced and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the heirloom carrot appetizer.
Definitely worth returning.
We ordered Porchetta and the Gnocchi dishes which were fantastic!
Pasta mushroom dish had no flavor. The bean salad was very good.
Went to Talia on a Saturday night. The restaurant had limited indoor and outdoor seating due to Pandemic. The hostess and server were very attentive and knowledgeable. The Negroni made at Talia is the best in Pittsburgh. Also, you have to get the meatball appetizer!
Went to celebrate our new home purchase. These are very difficult times under trying restrictions with coronavirus. Talia made the best of it. They kept everyone safe and served an excellent meal. They deserve kudos!
Everything was delicious . My gnocchi with veal sauce was a little salty. Everything else was very good. The beans and greens were really only beans but tasty . The service was brilliant .
My first time at Talia was mediocre. The restaurant was beautiful and clean and we were promptly seated for our reservation (around June during COVID). Our waitress recommends great cocktails and an excellent red wine. We ordered appetizers and main dishes (meatballs, pork, pasta, steak). The food has good flavor but everything was barely room temperature or freezing cold. There were only two other tables in the place so this seems unacceptable for every single dish to be cold. I think this place has lots of potential and I’m hoping it was just an off night, I want to go back and try again!
The Porchetta was outstanding. The service was attentive without interupting conversations
Everything was perfect!
Great to have this restaurant back. Service and food were excellent. New risotto and seafood special was if the restaurant didn’t miss a beat . Rachel a great server, knew the menu and wine list well. Definitely be back.
Delicious scallops!
My linguine dish was delicious and my husband enjoyed the gnocchi. The roasted olives are not to be missed!
I think we would have really enjoyed dining at the bar area that overlooks the kitchen. That always intrigues me.
The only thing that bothered me was the house red wine. It was served cold and I couldn't enjoy the flavor of the wine until well into my entree.
Excellent meal. The Meatball and Bread basket appetizers were delicious and a good value. Creative cocktails by the bar staff offered lots of drink options. For entrees we had the Margherita Flatbread and Gnocchi and both were excellent. We will return in the future.
Everything was exceptional, service, the atmosphere, the food was delicious and very accommodating. 10/10 will be coming back. Thank you to everyone who made my first experience there amazing.
Amari are magnificent.
Love the fresh and innovative food.
Satisfied hearty eaters, salad eaters and gfree eaters.
Not happy that diners are excluded from Happy Hour specials.
This is one of my go to places. The food has always been good and the service is fantastic. The bartenders give great drink recommendations as well as food. I asked to make a change to my dinner by removing an item and he made a recommendation of something to add in it’s place that made it even better! And you can’t beat the value if you go to the bar during happy hour. I’ve introduced this place to multiple people, all of whom have said they will go back. If you haven’t been, you need to try it.
Excellent food and service.
I have wanted to stop here for dinner for a while. The online menu is a bit larger than the current menu. I had the broccolini and ricotta gnocchi . My friend had the strip. Everything was really great! I will dine here again.
Excellent food and drinks. Decent value for the area
It was my first time dining at Talia this past Saturday and I was very impressed. The waiter we had was very patient and helpful when my date and I had questions. We did two appetizers, the bread and romaine salad. Both came out quickly. The only thing was that we had to wait a little long on getting our glasses of wine. Not a huge deal since we were busy chatting and had a whole bottle of water at the table already. I’d highly recommend this place but definitely look at the menu before you go! Dress and vibe is classy and a great date spot if you’re looking for somewhere fancy for a special occasion or a nicer Italian place!
Went for Valentine's Day. Talia is in a great location across the street from the Kimpton and Omni hotels with parking in the Mellon Square Garage across the street. This smallish Italian restaurant has a warm feel to it and the service level was very good. We had pasta and roasted pork dishes that we liked very well.
My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine’s Day and the food was amazing. We would definitely recommend! There were a few tables around us and the bar that was quite noisy, but we expected that since it was Valentine’s Day. Overall, the food was a little expensive but you get what you pay for!
Reaturaunt was cold, the service was okay, but the portions were very small for the large prices.
The food was delicious, but expensive. Maybe not worth the price.
It was perfect food was amazing. Staff gave great recommendations. Will definitely come here again.
New menu. More expensive and my favorite dish was gone. Got the porchetta. It was really fatty and not much meat. We used to love this place.
The porcetta was a pile of tepid thick cut fat that took forever to get to the table.
