Talia Cucina Rosticceria
Great Restaurant, everything was amazing except the noise, I took my favorite clients there but couldn't hear them because of the noise from the bar area. I am hard of hearing so I am probably more sensitive than most to this but I wouldn't do another business dinner hear but I will bring my wife next time :)
Excellent wine list — great northern-central Italian cuisine
A gem of an Italian restaurant—a clever menu and brilliant service made for a wonderful evening downtown.
Great food. Service. Ambiance. Parking easy across the street. Cocktails could be better
The food tasted good. The drinks were great! I would go again.
Outstanding food, great suggestions from our server.
Our server was quite nice and professional is telling us the specials and meeting our needs. The food was delicious and the atmosphere fun and light!
Nice quaint place. Limited menu. Only Italian wine list
The pork dish was loaded with bacon. It was supposed to be Porchetta but instead pork belly. I am a first generation Italian and it was not the Porchetta I have been used to eating. That said the server was very accommodating and reduced the bill
Restaurant week lunch was amazing value. $16.19 for a starter and an entree. LOVED the Ratatouille
Restaurant week selections were very good. Had the salmon and pork. Both very good. Did the wine parings for add'l $15 per person. Each glass went good with each course. Red with the pork and white with the salmon. Very good cherry gelato for desert. Would like to go back and try some add'l dishes for lunch with business associates.
Wonderful birthday lunch
Restaurant week; ordered the special, never got the first courses; our food took much longer than expected; but was definitely worth the wait. The quality of food was top notch; a definite gem, just would like the food to turn out a little faster.
This was our fifth or sixth visit here, because we truly have enjoyed our experiences with this venue. The Happy Hour is terrific with great values on great wines. Once we were seated, the service and experience changed. We ordered a bottle of wine, which took a bit of time to arrive. we then ordered our entire meal all at the same time so that we could be assured of getting our food. After 45 minutes of being seated and ordering our appetizers and meal, no food had arrived. Finally when we explained to our server that we did not understand what was taking so long and that we would really appreciate our food, he told the manager who then made sure that our food was delivered in a timely fashion. Very kindly, and appropriately, the Manage did not charge us for three of our small food items. We did appreciate that, and her efforts to improve our experience. We will certainly come back, as we truly enjoy this venue, and we will hope for the experience we have always had in the past.
Food was great. Only criticism is that the wait staff needs some training on hygienic practices. Waitress took three glasses from the table to refill, two of us had ice tea and we received the wrong glasses back. Either fill from a pitcher at the table or bring fresh drinks. I would also request that they bring you a box to pack up leftovers rather than letting staff do it given the disregard for properly tracking patron's glasses. That is gross.
Very quaint little restaurant, with a romantic atmosphere. Food was a little more expensive, and no extras included with dinner, but the food was delicious! Will definitely go back.
I have issues with gluten, was happy to see the gluten free options. Had the margarita pizza on the cauliflower crust, delicious!
Awesome experience.. will definitely go back
I organized a celebration lunch for a coworker and made a reservation for 10 people. The reservation was for 11:45. It took 2” minutes for us to be waited on and another 30 minutes to get our food, which had been sitting under the lights for a good 5-10 minutes before being served.
There was one server for the entire restaurant, which is completely unacceptable.
Food was great - as it usually is. I really enjoyed my previous experiences, however, this one was a real disappointment.
We had a very nice table and an excellent server. Right off the bat we found the noise level a bit high, sometimes to the point of having a hard time hearing each other at the table. Perhaps our greatest disappointment was the limited number of offerings on the menu. The steak I ordered medium well came well done... another small disappointment. My wife enjoyed her dish, my daughter was nonplussed about menu offerings so settled for soup and bread...
Food was outstanding. Was our servers 1st time waiting tables on her own, she did an excellent job especially considering the restaurant was completely full. The only downside was noise level. The restaurant needs to figure out a way to deaden the how the sound echoes throughout. At times difficult to hear the person across the table from me
This place is great! Pasta is out of this world and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Definitely some good slop! Will come back!
Amazing food! The fish was perfectly cooked and the gnocchi was top notch!
It is unusual for a very high quality kitchen has the dining experience diluted by a decibel level sports bar on Super Bowl Sunday
Very good menu. Simple but good optionss. Noisy but not crowded the night we went so it was enjoyable.
Great food and great service!
Lovely place for a classy bachelorette dinner. Unique, delicious dishes.
We were pleasantly surprised. The decor is simple, and it looks like it might be more of a lunch spot. But excellent service, good wines by the bottle and glass and stellar cooking really took it into five star territory. Roast chicken sounds simple, but it hard to do well. Roast porchetta was awesome, but the biggest surprise was grilled artichokes with white bean hummus.
Great atmosphere and knowledgeable waitstaff. Best music I’ve heard in a restaurant in a long time.
Went to celebrate my friends birthday. Before dinner I had a decent cocktail off their list. Bar tenders were friendly.
Once we sat down we looked over the wine list. Not once but twice the server suggested that the wine we wanted to order was “really expensive”. Let me be the decider of what I can and can’t afford. So rude. On top of that the food was fair at best. Do yourself a solid and go to another Italian spot for an overall better experience.
Great food, drinks, and service!
Terrific food. The limited menu still has something for everyone. House-made soups, pastas and breads are the standouts. The risotto was perfection. The service was top-notch. Our server, Jennifer, was attentive and unpretentious, making for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.
We always enjoy dining here. Excellent food & service! Highly recommended!
Situated directly across from our hotel, Talia was a delight. From the hostess who managed the indescribably rude people in front of us with ease and a smile, to our gem of a waiter, and the regulars next to us who shared their tip for the olive oil cake, we enjoyed every minute.
We visited prior to the theater and were served with ample time to get there before curtain. I had porchetta and my family had canneloni and grilled octopus. We also tried roasted olives and some sort of creamy appetizer with crostini and arugula. I was curious about porchetta ever since seeing it being made on an episode of the new "Queer Eye" show. The portion was ample but made of thin slices of pork loin over carmelized onion and broccolini that managed to be charred yet still pretty tough to chew. The whole was doused with gravy. Many of the pork slices were dry. If we go back, I won't get the porchetta. My son enjoyed the octopus and my husband pronounced the canneloni "OK." The restaurant was loud but we could still converse without shouting.
Menu was limited but food was excellent. I’d check the menu in advance. Service was super.
The wait staff was friendly and extremely helpful, the food was unique and delicious! I am looking forward to a return trip.
WE we're very happy with our dinners at Talia this past Mat 11th, 2019. Excellent food and great service we will let people know and try to return their as we get into downtown Pittsburgh. Great date night or going to the Heinz Hall or the Benadium for a show.
Not bad but not great. The famed Porchetta was a huge pile of thinly sliced pork served on a bed of broccolini- tasty but some of the pork was too dry. Crab pasta likewise was okay but there was no discernible chunks of crab, just little threads with a barely discernible crab taste. Service was great. Wine list is totally Italian but no Pinot Grigio and happy hour prices do not apply to the dining room.
We've eaten here three times, before opera or play. Food always good and service attentive. Particularly recommend the porchetta and risotto gnocchi.
