A traditional, conservative luncheon was hosted by President Taft at the El Paso Chamber of Commerce followed by an opulent dinner served and presented by President Díaz in the Old Federal Customs building in Juarez. Private discussions were had and agreements were made.
TAFT DÍAZ serves as a testament that great things can flourish when you welcome others at your table.

We went there for New Year’s Eve dinner. They canceled my reservation and I had to call them to get it reinstated. Also, they automatically charged us 47.00 gratuity fee, it was just me and my husband! We were not told about the automatic gratuity charge, so my husband ended up tipping almost $100 that night!! Was pretty upsetting, I feel like they were ripping people off by not telling us the automatic gratuity fee! Will never go back.
Hi William, we do understand your concerns and apologize for any misunderstandings. If you could please give us a call at 915-271-3600 and ask to speak with Cameron, we would be happy to correct the issue. We do sincerely hope you still had a wonderful new year's eve and look forward to hearing from you soon. All the best, Cameron Taft Diaz
Everything was exquisite, from beginning to end. The service was top-notch, but not intrusive. The Japanese whiskey was intensely flavorful without being overwhelming. Our favorite appetizer was the parsnip tamal with mole sauce, and the arugula salad is a great value and quite filling with the addition of quinoa, tomato, cucumber, etc. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the mango mousse dessert was light and tart, and not overly heavy or sweetened like most desserts. Even the focaccia bread was the most soft I’ve ever had and delicious with the chimichurri butter. When you want to treat yourself, this is the place to go in downtown El Paso.
Hi Natt, thank you so much for the kind words. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your experience with us at Taft Diaz. We'll be sure to have more Japanese whisky ready for your next visit, cheers! All the best, Taft Diaz
We went on Christmas Day. Setting is great, really upscale and fine dining atmosphere; we had the Christmas special dish which was good, but I would not consider it a fine dining dish (based on my experiences with fine dining in European restaurants). It was a lot of food on the plate, not the experience I would expect for that price. One of us had a regular main course and that was better.
Had a nice birthday lunch with family.
Excellent food !
Nobody to greet you at entrance, sign to seat yourself. One waiter who hardly spoke, made no suggestions and didn’t even care to offer more of anything, much less dessert. We understand they are obviously not busy for lunch from the three tables they had, but was very disappointed with service. Ordered cocktail which took no less that 15 minutes bartender was somewhere not at his post. Food was delicious as always but not worth the slowest lack of service experience.
Gracias por una excelente atención y servicio y por el detalle del pastel de zanahoria como regalo por nuestro aniversario.
What a gem this restaurant was, we celebrated our 1 year anniversary and couldn’t have been happier with the restaurant choice and food.
Great tasting menu. Sat at Chef's table for anniversary dinner. Adam was our server. The wine list is comparable to Cafe Central with an extensive collection of hard to find Mexican wine. While not all the tasting choices were home runs- I applaud the effort and would definitely go back. Reminds me of tasting experiences in bigger cities (Chicago, San Fran).
Great food and drink
Family from out of town
Only place to take out of town guests
Amazing and surprising tastes. Beautiful set up . Great to see the kitchen on action!
Celebrated my husbands 50th birthday with seven course meal..... absolutely delicious.
Our waitress Jackie was checking on us repeatedly and made sure we were happy with the incredible ravioli's and octopus we were served. I have been there several times and the staff has always been incredible.
Good as always
My husband and another couple went out to dinner to Taft-Diaz this past Sunday. This was my second time dining in Taft-Diaz, for them was their first time. My first dining experience was really great. This time was a disaster. The drinks served were not as ordered. One of the drinks request was with Malibu rum and was prepared and served with regular rum. Their bar inventory doesn't match the quality and price tag of their business. The most important thing for us, the customer is for the waitress to accurately inform us on what's not available instead of them making their own substitutions.... very disappointing! The food was not great and the service was poor. I ordered the arugula salad and the veggie mole, not impressed. I'd not give Taft-Diaz another chance. Thanks.
Web went for breakfast, the service by Cameron was wonderful so was the food
Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. Dishes complex and well plated, the White Onion Cream Soup was specially pleasing with surprising flavors.
Service was very “off”. Forgot 2 salads and a desert for our table. The cut of ribeye we had had no business @ $50.
This restaurant has a nice cozy atmosphere, in the lobby of the Stanton House Hotel. The service is great, very attentive. The food is very good. A little pricey, but well worth it.
Had the Family together for our Anniversary dinner and everything was amazing. Highly recommend dining here!
Went there for date night, and had an awesome time. The staff tried really hard to create a comfortable environment and pleasant experience. The food was excellent and I plan on returning frequently in the future
The service was impeccable, the art installations were beautiful, and the food was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the El Paso area looking for a nice date night.
Excellent Food and Service
Pleasantly surprised by a wine tasting event. Creative food with subtle but artfully arranged flavors, beautiful pairings and fantastic staff.
We had a private event at the chef’s table last night and it was outstanding! The special menu created for the occasion is without a doubt of the highest caliber. The Snake River farms rib eye was one of the best cuts of meat I have had the pleasure of enjoying. I would highly recommend giving Taft Diaz the opportunity to share their culinary talents which are second to none.
Great location, decor, food and service. Ideal for special occasions
The new seasonal menu was very interesting and the food was delicious, we'll definitely keep coming back.
Our experience at Taft Díaz was a great one! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. We can’t wait to go back!
Absolutely fabulous! The food was amazing...and the entire staff did an excellent job ....wonderful customer service.
Wonderful service, atmosphere, and food.
Friend of mine recommended me this place, not sure what was he thinking. First of all, place is small, looks like a cafeteria. Some details are nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. Also, it is WAY too expensive. For those prices I thought my wife was going to get a premium steak, like the ones you find at Great American, Double Eagle, or any steak house. Steak was ok, but not what we expected. It was her birthday, and didn't get any cake/desert... like the special treatment you get at other places like Cafe Central, where you get a birthday card and desert. Anyways, staff was very friendly, polite, and attentive. No complaints there. Overall: not what we expected for a special occasion. Just go to Cafe Central to pay the same and eat as twice as much.
Fun, well lighted, not loud, great Sisters lunch! Food was creative & delicious!
Excellent dining experience!
Fantastic smoked tomato soup as a starter.
Branzino, catch of the day - Excellent!
In house dry aged, roasted duck - Excellent !
Braised lamb “Al hoyo” - Excellent !
Andreas provided perfect service!
The staff was extremely attentive and it was a great place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was my first time at TD and we'll be returning. BTW...GREAT FOOD!
The ambiance was lovely and we enjoyed the service but the food for all 6 of us was awfully salty and that unfortunately ruined our dinner.
Hello Merylin, I know that having this problems with a salty dinner can definitely ruin a dinner experience, I can assure you that I personally will work with my team to fix this problems. Can you please share at with me what day and time frame did this happened? Thank you so much to give us the opportunity to serve you?
Not very good at all. I was expecting so much more from this place
I am so sorry that you're dinning experience is not what you expected, is it possible for you to share some details of you're experience so I can personally ensure that necessary actions take place.
Stay a night at the hotel!
An oasis of gastronomic creativity in an otherwise one-dimensional food scene. Every facet of the Taft-Diaz experience was commendable and thoroughly enjoyable.
Thank you so much for you're visit!
