Full disclosure, I’m not a big fan of “fine dining”, and this was fine dining. The flavors were a little too robust for me. The service was excellent, though. And the house-made bread with orange-truffle butter was quite interesting. We had the half-chicken and the salmon. Chicken was okay, and the salmon was a little overdone.

Went for dinner but overall it was a disappointment. Started with the sashimi which was relatively bland for my taste. Caesar salad was just ok. I ordered the Wagyu Ribeye but they served it over a bed of mashed potatoes and gravy turning a steak into a stew, completely defeating the purpose of ordering wagyu. We also got the New York steak, this was the only dish that was really worth it. Another good thing was half off wine bottles on Mondays.

The portions are very large, the salads are large enough to be an entree. So, I took my whole dinner entree home with me. The service was impeccable. The bread was excellent.

My experience was great from the start. Upon entering I was treated and sat without any waiting. Our server, Eva was attentive as our drinks never went dry, her timing was on point. Eva was also friendly and personable. The manager also came by the table to introduce himself and to see how our night was going and he appeared to enjoy his profession, making our experience more enjoyable. The food was very tasty and prepared to perfection. I will be back to enjoy another great dining experience!!

Excellent wine pairing and meal. Superb setting in the speakeasy downstairs and very much enjoyed Ellie the wine distributor who informed about all the wines and shared the meal with the group. Each dish was perfectly prepared and the entire menu was magnificent with the service the usual superb by Taft Diaz. Strongly recommend Taft-Diaz restaurant to anyone who enjoys great meals and settings.

My five cousins and I had brunch at Taft-Diaz today. It was our first time there. Compared to other nice restaurants in El Paso, this place is excellent! It took about 25 minutes for the food to arrive, but we had read that this is usual there, so we were prepared for the wait, since we had a lot of catching up to do. Four of us had the Brunch Burger. The burgers and fries were delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the Stanton Breakfast. The home style potatoes were perfectly cooked! One cousin ordered the deep fried French toast. It comes with whipped cream cheese, seasonal berries and pecans. This was consumed very quickly! The only thing I would change is that perhaps the size of the small coffee cup that is included with the Stanton Breakfast could be a bit larger. The coffee was fresh - not too strong or too weak. For dessert, we shared a six-inch wide chocolate tort topped with what tasted like whipped cream cheese. Fresh berries covered the whipped cream cheese. It was not overly sweet, which is the way we like our desserts. The food tastes fresh and the portions are just right. The waiter was polite and attentive. The place is modern, elegant and immaculate. The sunlight from the high ceiling conveys a gentle sun room atmosphere. I especially like the fact that there is no music and no tv screens, which are too common in restaurants today. Delicious food and good conversation is what it is all about. I very much look forward to my next visit to Taft-Diaz.
