The staff was amazing & very attentive! Our waiter John was knowledgeable about the menu & didn't forget to mention the special of the evening. The food came out quickly. It was delicious & at the right temperature. The drinks & the presentation was superb! The manager even checked on us & we expressed very small dislikes & was given free dessert for our honesty & our troubles. Overall excellent experience......but what would you expect coming from Jon Taffer 😏

We were very excited to try this restaurant before our concert. However, the restaurant clearly not keep up with the demand for the evening. That was the first problem, the second problem was that the staff did not know how to handle somebody that had food allergies. One of our guests has celiac’s disease and is unable to eat gluten. One of the managers assured us that the dish that we had ordered was gluten-free, including the special sauce that we had specifically asked about. Thankfully, another manager ran over that had been asked as well since our server had no idea and told us that the sauce could not be eaten. The staff is untrained from management to the server. What a horrible experience will absolutely never be back.

It was a good dinner. Cocktails were good, but pricy. Service was very good. I think I expected it to be more than it was. It was good, but I wasn't "wowed." I'd return, but only if others in the party wanted the Taffer experience, not because I'm interested in trying other dishes/drinks.

With a name like Taffers you better live up to the reputation....and they do! It is tavern food done right. Never had service this good. We went twice and were very impressed.

Undercooked chicken. My Friend ordered a black ice coffee, which came out as a shot of espresso in a glass with mostly milk. An aperol spritz that was watered down and tasteless. The irony of a restaurant owned by a guy who makes a living yelling at and criticizing people for their underperforming restaurants. Our waitress was sweet, but had no idea what she was doing. There are better places in dc.

We are in DC on vacation with our daughter. Staff was very nice and food was great. We had braised short ribs, chicken and waffles and french dip - all really good! It was very quiet and the restaurant is lovely - nice bar area as well.

The menu looks good, the restaurant was clean and had a nice and fun upscale bar vibe, and the service was good. Unfortunately, the food I ordered wasn't very good. I ordered the fish and chips for lunch, a restaurant menu identified favorite dish. It came out with two smaller pieces of fish. The outside of the battered fish was crispy, but the batter was very thick and the middle of the batter was doughy and made the fish soggy. It was like trying to eat mushy fish. I will go again and try something different to give them another chance.

Drinks were fun- We had the smoked old fashion the s'moffee martini, Bubble2 and cloud 9. All were great. Food was disappointing - 3 orders of fish and chips came out soggy and were left half uneaten, 2 orders of chicken and waffles both came out overdone, Tavern Fries came out without the herbs listed in the description. I'd recommend Taffer's Tavern for a drink, but would suggest eating elsewhere.

Four adults on DC trip all found their menu choices for a mid-afternoon meal to be excellent. Service great and meal service quick. Would highly recommend!

- Waited over 15 mins after being seated before anyone came to take our drink order. - Half the order was wrong or just forgotten, so half our party had finished their food before the rest even got theirs. -We had to flag down other servers to go find ours when the runner brought the wrong food, he simply never checked on us. -Bill was wrong. We were charged for items we never ordered. They could not fix it or just refund the extra amount, so they had to charge us twice. Now we wait and see if they correctly refund the original charge or if we have to put it in dispute. - The food that came out late was cold, so the whole experience was just negative. Overall, we won't be returning. The service was just that bad.

Met our daughter in Washington for the Cherry blossoms. Went to the tavern for dinner. I rated the food 4, never give 5. Had wings, burgers and salads. Waite staff fantastic.

Was really good. Only issue was the staff fight that took place as we were about to leave, other staff diverted us to a different exit and could tell they felt bad about it.

Great experience after seeing the Cherry blossoms. The pork belly and truffle Fries were awesome as were the chicken and waffles and beef stroganoff. Also the drinks The iced tea and Resurection as well.

All of the drinks tasted tasted funny. We had sprite, lemonade, and ginger ale. They all tested like nasty sink water with a splash of flavoring. I had the pasta it was extremely bland and I had a peace of metal in my food. ( they did take off my food and the drinks. We had a concert to go to after this dinner and basically everyone wet to the concert hungry.)

Had pretty high expectations for this place as I’ve watched ever episode of Bar Rescue. The service was great, our waitress was tentative and very nice! The ambiance was also welcoming. The food and drinks however were mediocre. My friend and I both got a burger and they weren’t flavorful and really dry. The pretzel appetizer had way to much salt, you had to scrape it off to make it edible. The cocktail flight was disappointing, only 2 drinks were good. The blue vodka drink was pretty but smelled like ocean water. Will not return.

The host never communicated the birthday open table notes that I left. The food portions were very small for the price. We both ordered steak and both came way overcooked and flavorless. Definitely wish I took my husband to another place for his bday dinner. The only good experience we had was our server, she was great. Seems like Mr. Taffer needs to work on doing a kitchen rescue to his own establishment. Very disappointing experience.
