Tacuba Hell's Kitchen
Restaurants include: Toloache 50, Toloache 82, Toloache Thompson, Yerba Buena Perry, Yerba Buena LES, Coppelia & Tacuba.
The cuisine ranges from Mexican and Cuban to diverse
Pan-Latin, with menus offering innovative flavor pairings, staple traditional dishes and fresh ingredient cocktails. Fresh is definitely the key word with all Chef Julian creations.
It was my birthday and I love this restaurant but after this experience I will not be dining again. Reservation was at 7. We did not get sat until 7:30. Granted two friends were running late. However there was no one in the area we were sitting so I’m confused on why it took so long. Then we were sat without menus so it made it seem like they didn’t care that it was a birthday dinner. I had to flag our waiter down to ask for menus.
He was okay but it still wasn’t great service. Didn’t ask anyone for refills. Then told us the restaurant was out of guacamole. I’m sorry but what Mexican restaurant runs out of guacamole. This isn’t chipotle especially at a restaurant at this price point. They did bring us tequila shots for my birthday but it was a little too late to make up for the terrible service. I just felt like they couldn’t care less about the service. Then they had the audacity to put an automatic 20% tip on the bill.... cuz they knew how bad the service was and they just wanted us out of the restaurant. I will never be dining here again.
Good service but just average food. Drinks okay too. Prices too high for what we ate.
Best food. Delicious margaritas. And the manager Rebeca is so professional.
Great overall experience. Delicious food. One of the best Carne Asada I’ve ever had. 2 delicious Mezcal cocktails. Can’t wait to go back for tacos!
We had a great time, short rib tacos & steak tacos rocked
The food was good, but overpriced for what it was. The guacamole was bland. The tortillas were nothing special. The services was good at times, and then not at others. We had to flag down our sever to get the bill.
Great guacamole, a delicious variety of tacos and cocktails to top it off. Love this neighborhood favorite.
I've past by several times and mentally earmarked wanting to go. So glad I remembered when an occasion came up for dinner with friends. food and drinks were tasty. Our table was comfortable without feeling crowded...yet the place was packed. And yet we could hear each other without screaming. I recommend for a fun night out.
Waited for my table even tho I had a reservation. Staff wasn’t very attentive and forgot my app until it was too late.
Great waiter and great food. Would go again !! Steak was delicious as was guacamole and margaritas 👍
very good place--quick efficient service....good selection of different dishes--nice fish tacos, good guac....
Overall, we were very satisfied with our meal and servers. If given the option to sit in a quieter part of the restaurant, I would have taken it.
Enchiladas mole with a side of rice and beans and a classic margarita made for a perfect meal in NYC.
Service was subpar. After being seated it was exactly 25 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. Very small food portions, but good taste.
Wonderful food and drinks. Service was good but not amazing. It was very busy. I’ll definitely be back.
Delicious food. Too noisy.
we went Friday night with a group of 7 and we all loved it. the food was amazing! short rib quesadillas, grilled octopus, avocado fries, skirt steak and the chicken were all amazing. the crepe dessert though... best thing i ever ate!
our server Marta and the wait Assistant Alejandro were perfect! very friendly and efficient
This was the second time my boyfriend and I visited Tacuba. The first was our second date a year and a half ago, and it was just as good then as it is now! We were seated right away at a nice table toward the front of the restaurant. The guacamole was really delicious and the frozen lime Margarita was amazing! Brisket tacos were to die for. Overall a great meal and the wait staff couldn't have been more attentive.
Great food, and wonderful staff!
Had high hopes. It was so loud we could hardly hear each other. The food was very disappointing and in small portions. The wait staff was not helpful and sort of rushed us through our meal. Would not go back
A pleasant surprise - pre-theater. Octopus(tacos) was perfectly cooked, very tender - tortillas were made on site. Avocado fries were crisp and light, perfect complement to the tacos. Mango sorbet, coconut and leche ice cream scoops added just the right sweet touch. I would come here again.
Great food and good service! Excellent and unique drinks. Definitely on the list of favorite places.
Good customer service.
Tasty and reasonable margaritas.
Best of show was the huitlacoche fried rice which came with the carne asada
Guacamole might have been the only disappointment (portion size).
Would have been 5 stars but Just to darn loud to truly fully enjoy.
Good place for a big group but pricey for what you get.
Love the vibe. Food is good. Not amazing but good!!!! Fun Mexican in Hell’s Kitchen
Best Mexican rest in the city! Service is impeccable, food is delicious, and drinks amazing! Second year in a row celebrating my birthday here, is a tradition I will continue!
Expensive for what it was. Not recommended.
Had been following the restaurant for a while before our holiday so was delighted it lived up to expectations!! Amazing food and great service - only wished I could have tasted the full menu!!
Really delicious. Their brisket tacos were some of the best. We order guacamole, but the best part was the roasted tomato salsa that came with it. Will definitely be coming back - this will be my pre-theatre dinner spot!
Very loud and happy place, reasonably priced, good service, close to theater district, the carnitas were terrific, good sauces for pre dinner chips, expect fun and loud, and this was a weekday for us.
Great food and good value, perfect to go to before heading to a show.
We sat in the front room street side and it was comfortable
The service was Great
The food was Great
The cocktails were inventive and so delicious
I will definitely be going back
Incredible experience. Hopping place—for a reason. Attentive, wonderful service and spectacular, authentic food. A great find at a fun venue. Can’t wait to come back.
I've eaten here several times over the years, and love it every time. They always have our reservation and seat us immediately. Food is great and drinks strong. Highly recommend!
We had the tuna tacos from the specials menu. Which were so good, we ordered a second round. The braised brisket tacos were incredible. It was the softest meat I have ever had. After two bites, I said to my husband, “I would eat this every day of my life.” The quesadilla de flor with chicken was also excellent. It was more of a flat bread than a quesadilla but the flavor was amazing. It was our first time there and it’s my new favorite place!
Food was excellent. It was the second time I'd been. Wait staff - so-so... seemed to want to rush us in and out, while there were many tables open at the time... I would go back again and see if the same thing happened.
This is one of our go-to places in the neighborhood, whether for a nice meal with friends or for a pre-theater bite.
Good value for money. Nice ambiance and service is friendly and polite. Restaurant with nice décoration
Went for New Year's Eve and it was wonderful. Have been there several times prior and always have a good experience. We had a party of 5. We all did the Prix fixe 4 course dinner (soup, appetizer, entree, dessert). At $75 per person including a pitcher of margaritas or sangria per couple it was a fabulous deal made even better by the food. Each course was delicious. Only minor complaint was that our very friendly helpful waiter disappeared at 11:30 pm and we did not get our champagne toast. However we still had drinks left and toasted with that.
