Tacuba Hell's Kitchen
Restaurants include: Toloache 50, Toloache 82, Toloache Thompson, Yerba Buena Perry, Yerba Buena LES, Coppelia & Tacuba.
The cuisine ranges from Mexican and Cuban to diverse
Pan-Latin, with menus offering innovative flavor pairings, staple traditional dishes and fresh ingredient cocktails. Fresh is definitely the key word with all Chef Julian creations.
Really delicious. Their brisket tacos were some of the best. We order guacamole, but the best part was the roasted tomato salsa that came with it. Will definitely be coming back - this will be my pre-theatre dinner spot!
Very loud and happy place, reasonably priced, good service, close to theater district, the carnitas were terrific, good sauces for pre dinner chips, expect fun and loud, and this was a weekday for us.
Great food and good value, perfect to go to before heading to a show.
We sat in the front room street side and it was comfortable
The service was Great
The food was Great
The cocktails were inventive and so delicious
I will definitely be going back
Incredible experience. Hopping place—for a reason. Attentive, wonderful service and spectacular, authentic food. A great find at a fun venue. Can’t wait to come back.
I've eaten here several times over the years, and love it every time. They always have our reservation and seat us immediately. Food is great and drinks strong. Highly recommend!
We had the tuna tacos from the specials menu. Which were so good, we ordered a second round. The braised brisket tacos were incredible. It was the softest meat I have ever had. After two bites, I said to my husband, “I would eat this every day of my life.” The quesadilla de flor with chicken was also excellent. It was more of a flat bread than a quesadilla but the flavor was amazing. It was our first time there and it’s my new favorite place!
Food was excellent. It was the second time I'd been. Wait staff - so-so... seemed to want to rush us in and out, while there were many tables open at the time... I would go back again and see if the same thing happened.
This is one of our go-to places in the neighborhood, whether for a nice meal with friends or for a pre-theater bite.
Good value for money. Nice ambiance and service is friendly and polite. Restaurant with nice décoration
Went for New Year's Eve and it was wonderful. Have been there several times prior and always have a good experience. We had a party of 5. We all did the Prix fixe 4 course dinner (soup, appetizer, entree, dessert). At $75 per person including a pitcher of margaritas or sangria per couple it was a fabulous deal made even better by the food. Each course was delicious. Only minor complaint was that our very friendly helpful waiter disappeared at 11:30 pm and we did not get our champagne toast. However we still had drinks left and toasted with that.
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the city and was very excited to dine there on NYE. The margaritas were delicious as usual, but the prix fixe menu was a complete disappointment. The flavor was ok, but the food was very dry and cold - like it was prepared the day before. My pork chop was so hard that I couldn't even bite into it. The B team was definitely in the kitchen, or someone had too much tequila. Sad I have to write a bad review.
We were well taken care of for NYE - the service was attentive, quick, and engaging, even on a busy night. The carne asada tacos were tasty as well as their guac.
Delicious, outstanding service and ambiance
Perfect place for a college reunion! Amazing service and food
Our party of six had a great time - tasty food and cocktails with excellent service and atmosphere. We would definitely return.
ALWAYS!! A fun, wonderful, festive evening! Our family's go-to spot when we come together in Manhattan!
Wonderful place for a family visit.
Great take on Mexican food.
It was too loud. Soup arrived cold. It felt average and tasted average. I certainly would return to the bar fire a drink and appetizer but not sure about dinner.
It’s a festive loud and fun place. It’s just not what I was looking for.
This was the latest in a series of visits to Tacuba. All prior visits have been very good. On this visit, we were seated in the heart of a service/busing area, and the table was sized for 2, not 4. Wasn’t impressed by this. On the other hand, the food was very good, and our server (Marta) was fantastic!
Service was very good as was the food. We were eating pre-theater and they got us in and out timely.
We were seated downstairs and asked to be moved to a better location. We were then seated upstairs under a draft. I told them we would only be there for 50 minutes as we had theatre and wish they had been more accommodating.
I have been here many times before and love the food but didn’t like the experience this time.
Best Mexican food and ambience. Ariel Rebecca and the amazing bartender Kevin are fantastic!!!!
Good experience overall. Decent food, though nothing super impressive. The music was a little loud for a relatively slow time in the restaurant on a Tuesday night. It was a little hard to talk over.
Hell’s Kitchen’s best Mexican! Great food and drinks.
Attentive service. Great tacos!
Ariel and Carlos are terrific!
The guacamole was good, but the tacos - the tacos were amazing. We ordered the carne asada, chicken and chorizo.
Can’t really pick a fav as they were all mouth warm Teri g good.
Can’t wait to go back
Visiting from Chicago. Wish we had this place there- we would go regularly. Wanted to try several items beyond what we ordered. Very good.
Food, drinks, and service are quite good. Noise level is tough to hear anyone talk. Reservations are an absolute must.
Have been to Tacuba many times and it never disappoints. Excellent food, good service, tasty cocktails.
I felt like I was being rushed.
Super loud, but that was to be expected on a Friday night. Had a great dinner!!
They are selling a tostada and calling it a quesadilla. It's tiny. Not cool.
Excellent option near the theater district. Nice casual atmosphere, friendly efficient service and generally very good food, with the exception of the chicken paillard dish I ordered which was very dry and borderline burned. But everything else we ordered was excellent.
Very good food, lively atmosphere.
Nice place--quick, efficient. Great guac and tacos, drinks. Lots of fun-tasty.
Portions were not very big and on the more expensive end
We had the brisket and chicken tacos. They were overly spicy and salty. The service was fast, but no one came by to ask how our food was (because I would have told them it was too spicy and salty and ordered something else). Guac was just okay.
