Taco Joint - Lincoln Park
There were a group of girls shouting and laughing so loud I could not hear or speak to my husband. Our neighboring tables were also unimpressed and said they couldn’t hear each other either. I ordered fajitas and the steak was not good, too chewy and no sour cream sauce. The staff were very nice and provided a great service.
Food was subpar, especially for Lincoln Park, and Chicago standards. Cute venue though. A bit loud. Drinks were good.
Cute atmosphere and great food!
Great service, food was mediocre. I use to visit the Ontario location and the food was much fresher. The corn was really bad. I will not order that again. The drinks were amazing. Over all visit was average, but the waiter made the visit worth it!
We spent Mother’s Day there for lunch and everything we had was absolutely delicious! From the salsa and guacamole to the Mexican street corn to the variety of tacos, everything tasted delicious. We will definitely be back!
Great tasty food and reasonably priced. Atmosphere was fun yet intimate. Service and beer selection could be improved. Often times it was hard to find our server, and it would be nice if there were more Latino beer options.
Great food and excellent service! I'd come back just for the people.
Can’t wait to go back. The steak fajitas....OMG. Chili margaritas, outstanding!
AMAZING food, great staff, perfect atmosphere. Loved that food was not over priced. Cant wait to come back
This place was delicious as far as the tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, and their chips/dip dish! The service was ok...they were very busy. But once they got to us it was good. Our drinks weren’t that good. Others at our table stated they were. I’d go again and recommend definitely. Parking wasn’t adequate either. But spot hero was great!
Terrific service. Spicy salsa and tacos. Tall, tasty margaritas. Dimly lit, cozy interior.
We went to Taco Joint before a show at Park West. We had 6 in our party - 4 high school students. Their basic sauce is very spicy. The waitress did not give us a warning on how spicy it was or that there is a mild option available. Two people could only eat a small portion of their food before the spice became too over powering. I personally love spicy food so I enjoyed it, I do think a warning should be given by the waitress or at least the option of a mild sauce should be mentioned. The restaurant is VERY loud. We had an incredibly noisy group behind us. I couldn't hear the people at my own table. We will not return.
Thought we had a reservation we had to wait in order to get a table in the main dining area. Food came out extremely quick and drinks were yummy. Would definitely go again but not on a Friday night. It was extremely busy and was hard to talk with my friends
Overall food was great. Not a fan on their regular salsa but the corn queso dip and guacamole made up for it. Al pastor taco was fantastic, barbacolla taco was too spicy for me, my mouth wad burning! Overall good experience, will be back.
Love this place!
Very casual but lively spot. The food is a great value and tasty. Our server was outstanding. Would recommend but make sure you have a reservation or else you will be waiting for a table.
My favorite consistent spot in the city. Always great food, and for a very reasonable price. Only areas of improvement for the restaurant is they should have a better beer menu, and their service can be spotty.
Loved it, we will definitely be back. They were not only fast, but super nice and we had an amazing dinner for two under 50 dlls
Happy Hour was a fabulous deal!!! Food is reasonably priced to begin with, but great deal at happy hour! Drinks also!!! Highly recommend!!!!!
Great tacos and margaritas! One of my favorite Mexican places in the area!
It was awesome the food was awesome! And the margaritas were really good!!
Very cute place located a few minutes away from DePaul’s Lincoln park campus. It wasn’t crowded for a Tuesday night. The food came at a decent pace and was quite good! The El Pastor tacos were delicious as well as the guacamole!! I definitely will be coming back again.
We had great chicken tinga tacos, but the sides were just ok. The rice was bland and the street corn was a little overwhelming with too much of whatever the spices were. Our server wasn't very attentive and we had to track her down both to order and to pay. But I would for sure go back and get the tacos again! Plus the prices were really reasonable.
A very robust crowd for a 7:30 reservation for which we were seated early (which was great). Not Taco Joints fault, this place caters to all, and some patrons were just too enthusiastic for the space.
Taco Joint was awesome as always! We were in on a busy Friday night, and the hostess could you have been more accommodating. We didn't sit at the bar like we normally do, but the service was just as excellent at the table! Despite being really busy everything was incredibly fast, fresh, and delicious. One of our favorite restaurants in town for a reason!! Thanks guys
Taco Joint is a great place for authentic Mexican. It's a very young, very loud crowd and most seats are backless stools. I'll go back, just likely not on a Saturday night!
Server was so friendly, and service was so fast! Food was amazing. Only downfall was chemically smell from kitchen, at least we knew everything was super clean! Will ask to sit further from kitchen door next time.
Food and service is always amazing!
Taco Joint is amazing! The bartender will make you a jalapeno margarita if you ask (and you should) - tacos are delicious, atmosphere is great. Wish they didn't allow people to bring kids in here....
Best taco place in Chicago hands down. Service is great and so is the grapefruit margarita. Definitely worth going to
The food was good, the service was great, and the value was outstanding!
It was fine.
Great food and service...well made drinks and reasonable prices.....go and enjoy!
Baja fish tacos are delicious.
Reason I would not recommend to a friend is it is too noisy to have a discussion. Realize that's probably due to the construction configuration but regardless, it's an issue.
Always great food. Always great service. Wonderful cocktails. Just sometimes a bit loud.
Loved it here the waiter was awesome for my birthday
Great first date. Teed up a great second date.
Staff and service were great. Food was marginal, at best. Had the fish tacos -- brittle/burnt shell so much "filling" fish was difficult to find--let alone taste. Guac was delicious. My husband's tacos were, as he said, tasteless. Very disappointed as our first visit was very good! Maybe just an off night.
Went with my mom for some casual tacos on a Monday. Was not busy and the food was great!
