The food was exceptional. Queso was great with plenty of chips. Salmon and grits were superb as were the fried chicken tacos. A terrific early dinner spot. Very noisy but understandable due to St Patrick's Day festivities all around. An excellent neighborhood spot.
Very good and easy to get a reservation. Would recommend for neigjborhood
Great food, great service, perfect place for Taco Tuesday.
The Trailer Park taco was very tasty, and the service was very attentive and personable.
I expected way more. Wasn’t too happy. I don’t think I will go back. Restaurant was too small. Everybody is stacked on each other. The owner was super nice! Thumbs up. But our cups were filthy. Soda was flat. Very disappointed. Food was very overpriced.
Everything out of the kitchen at Taco Cowboy is amazing!
Taco Cowboy does not disappoint. We usually go on Taco Tuesday but this time we went on a Monday, which is Fried Chicken day. The fried chicken was just a good as the tacos. Taco Cowboy is a must when in Virginia Highland.
Everything was Awesome!
Was in town for a convention and took the kids they loved it and so did we ! The brisket’/Mac and cheese taco was amazing and my kids wanted to go back the next night for them
The atmosphere and service was great.
We had a delicious meal and excellent service at the Taco Cowboy for my Birthday celebration.
We will definitely be going back.
We met friends after making a cold selection of this new restaurant. The tacos were very good and the Soprano Margarita, that many of us chose, was especially good. Our waiter was attentive and provided good service. The paella was just okay, even after our waiter highly recommended it.
I am baffled as to why we were placed on the patio (fortunately it was warm due to an overhead heater) when the reservation had been made a week in advance. Several of us remarked on the snippy attitude of the hostess when she seated us. While explaining the switch for the heater she stated that it was the "last switch." When I touched the opposite end, moving from left to right no less, she seemed exasperated that I'd touched the switch on the opposite end. Not a good first impression from the hostess.
The cigarette smoke from the "alley" between the buildings is most unpleasant. Ask to be seated away from that area.
Food and drinks were “ok” good service
We walk to it frequently and its consistently great.
Fun atmosphere, good food. Only complaint is that it was a cold night and they have food storage out the back door. The door opening and closing all night was cold and distracting. Wouldn't notice if the outside temp was good.
Great Drinks, and appetizers. The goat cheese fritters with Jalapeno Jelly we're delicious!!
The Shrimp tacos and the Mexican street corn tastyyyy.
Great time, great food, great service. We come here every time we go to Atlanta and it never disappoints!
The tacos are fantastic! Great menu to choose from. My favorite is the Brisket w Mac & Cheese. Tuesday night is half price Tacos.
I enjoyed the atmosphere. The space is small but still boasts an air of larger scale. Food was great. The Chef usually adds a few specials aside from the tacos/bbq options. Food is consistently good with every visit
Great food and service!
The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Our waiter Julian was attentive and all the items came out within a reasonable time. The beet salad was delicious and recommended to try. There is a variety of small plates and also entrees. The interior felt a little loud so we sat out on the heated patio. It was also warmer. Overall it was a very nice experience.
This was my spouse and my fourth or fifth visit. Our experience seems to get better with each visit. We typically steer away from small plate/tapas menus. However, Taco Cowboy menu usually includes a couple of entrees. We ordered the Grouper entree. It was excellent. The flavors were impressive.
The staff at Taco Cowboy are always very warm and receptive! That alone keeps us coming back. Although, the food is always very good.
The only negative on this visit was when our waiter mentioned that he was feeling “under the weather...but felt better after eating the soup special.” During any season, especially the flu season, this is not what you want to here from your waiter. But what are you going to do? People in this line of work don’t get paid unless they show up for work. So, they are more likely than not to report to work when they are sick and possibly contagious.
The tacos were great, better than some speciality restaurants in Atlanta & great vibe. We will be back!
Overall, an excellent meal. We had to wait a long time for the table, despite the reservation we had placed. Food took a bit long to arrive as well, but I also believe it was because they were slammed. Definitely will be back as we love Taco Tuesdays!
Glad that they kept some of the old menu from the predecessor restaurant. Great 1/2 price taco deal Tuesday evening.
Taco Cowboy was excellent. We met some friends there for drinks and tacos. The food was outstanding. The queso and guacamole were excellent. The tacos where to die for. Try the Trailer Park!
Fun evening at Taco Cowboy celebrating a birthday. Good food, great taco specials, good drinks. Great neighborhood place!
This by far has been the worst experience ever. I chose this place as a place to celebrate my friends birthday. The drinks had no liquor in it then my food came out with hair in it. I instantly stop eating and called the waiter. The manager came to the table and got the plate but made the statement that Matt was the one that put the hair in the food. That is so so so nasty . I would not suggest anyone to eat from here. I asked the manager could she take something off the ticket for the inconvenience and she advised she took a drink off that was given back because it taste like apple sauce. I took one sip and of course returned it back to her. The manager is very rude and the level of customer service she provided for me after I found the hair in my food was zero as if she did not care . DO NOT EAT HERE.
Art of Service is lost here, but the menu is eclectic and inviting. Salad with arugula didn’t have a blade of arugula, but the dressing was exceptional. Loved the tapas-style that encourages sharing, but no serving spoons were provided, making for an awkward experience overall. Glad we tried it but will let them work out kinks before trying again or recommending.
Food is fantastic and waitstaff is wonderful with great suggestions. Perfect night out.
Cute restaurant with good food. Price point wouldn’t bring me in all the time, but special occasions or maybe once a month.
The name change didn't seem to hurt...missed a few of the former menu items...service was, as always, excellent (Tom doesn't seem to tolerate any servers who don't care)...drinks were made carefully and correctly but slowly - maybe another bartender on a busy night? good food, good drinks, good service, good parking - what's not to like
High expectations but not such a great meal. The catfish was the highlight and everything else was less then satisfying. Foods all sound great on the menu but the most of the food, including the tacos were pretty boring and flavorless.
Waiter was great but all the food didn't come out at same time. Two of us got food but had to wait awhile on the 3rd meal to come out. Dessert was very slow coming out.
The food was not that great. I was pretty disappointed. Tacos you would think are hard to mess up but...
This was a disappointing experience. The chips were stale, the muscles were fishy tasting and the tacos were just okay. The Mac and cheese was good. The tacos were $6-8 each and were not that great. We will not go back. Too bad because we visited about 6 months ago and really enjoyed or food... something has happened!
The Froze is amazing! the entire menu is wonderfully creative and delicious. Perfect for a fun night out when you don't want to break the bank
Fun and delicious food, reasonable wine, and GREAT service. A winner. We’ll be back!
Great great food at great value
Thank you Chef Tom
