Best thing about this dining experience was our very sweet waitress. Food was average. Odd service experience at times, like having to ask for small plates for shared appetizers and desserts. Too many fantastic restaurants in NOLA to have an average meal.
The staff was very friendly and efficient. The manager went over and beyond to make sure we had a great meal. my husband is gluten free and the manager was very very conscientious and making sure that his meal was completely gluten-free. Very much appreciated his attention to detail.
Amazing food!! Large portions.
Our server was awesome. The crawfish and mushroom pasta was good, but not terrific. The trout was perfect. We had a really good experience and we will both recommend and return.
First visit to Tacklebox. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere great. They manager (I believe he was Mgr) came over and was very friendly. But the wait staff at bar and restaurant just weren’t very friendly. Sort of left us cold.
Disappointed in that as everything else was wonderful.
We had coupons as Titanium Marriott members for this restaurant. We ordered Chicken with Waffles at $22 each. The chicken tenders were tasteless and were worse than McDonald's ones. The waffles had bacon bits mixed in them. This was a strange combination to say the least and pretty expensive.
We chose this restaurant because we were exhausted after a full day of walking all through the French Quarter, and this place was a block away from our hotel. I wish we had just Uber-ed to a better choice. This is a typical hotel restaurant, not a place to waste time and money in when you're in one of the greatest culinary destinations in the country.
The waitress who waited on me was great. She was so kind after the 'cook', not chef, literally could not cook a burger. I asked for a burger cooked medium, I got a rare burger with low quality beef. The center of the raw beef was brown. The second time, the 'cook' burned the burger. I coughed due to the smoke from the caked on char. The casual dressed manager (?) asked me about the burger as if he couldn't see and smell the burnt burger. I took the bun off to not only show how burnt the burger was and to show him it was overcooked in the middle (of course). Then there was another waitress who forgot to confirm my reservation after I asked her four times to confirm my reservation. If you want a GREAT burger go to BARCADIA BAR GRILL at Tchoupitoulas and Lafayette. On separate two days, I had two perfectly cooked medium burgers with delicious fries and a great friendly staff.
We ate at TackleBox prior to the Rolling Stones concert and it worked out perfectly. It was conveniently located near the Superdome, easy walking distance to Central Business District hotels, and the service was relatively quick considering the early happy hour crowd. We shared an appetizer and drinks and enjoyed both. We would definitely go back.
Went to lunch with the office staff, all of us born and raised in New Orleans. Not sure who the owners are... but they cannot be from here. The food, staff and service was pitiful, and believe me we know New Orleans food and restaurants !!! Wish I could say maybe it was due to being busy but there were maybe two other tables with customers, and it was FRIDAY at Noon!
Great waitress. Yummy breakfasts .. good drinks
Great food. Solid. Good service.
Had fun with happy hour and food was great! Service lacking and not a friendly greeting.
While celebrating a birthday and bachelorette for the weekend we chose to dine here on Sunday evening seeing as it was one of the only places near by with reservations available. NOW we know why! The service was slow and food might have been alright but we lost our appetites when a group of 3 people off the streets... OFF THE STREETS came into the restaurant, right up to our table harassing us while staff did nothing to stop it. Left feeling very uncomfortable and vulnerable...
The best fried chicken and waffles I have ever had!! Highly recommended!
Outstanding service by staff! They didn’t miss a beat nor step.
Best grilled oysters I've had / Red Fish is outstanding. Nice beer selection. Easy to get to.
Had what I believe was a new waiter. Nice guy but everything took too long. The food that arrived was good though.
Chargrilled oysters were delicious!
We went two nights in a row here, because my teenage son loved the Elvis burger so much! Two nights, and for the rest of our family other than the teenager, two very different and delicious meals! Highly recommend!
Service was adequate. Redfish was very good. Convenient location.
Great seafood, and that's saying something for New Orleans! Service was fine but should have been more attentive; however, overall I would highly recommend this restaurant when downtown.
Oysters are a must! Very fresh. Our entire meal was excellent. Fish was fresh and plentiful. Salad wedge is a must!
We had a group of 8 there. The service was friendly and quick. We got the seafood tower, and while the raw oysters weren't great (a tad dry and chewy), the char-broiled oysters, the salmon and crawfish were.
I got the crab bisque, which was fantastic. One person in our party had their entree come out cold, but they rectified the situation quickly.
Great location. Beautiful restaurant with nice decor. Service was wonderful and food was good.
Raw oysters were properly shucked, came with a generic cocktail sauce and fresh horseradish. I'm from the west coast and prefer the liquor to be preserved, so was a bit taken aback when there wasn't any. That being said still a great price and great quality.
Really really good food. The fried voo doo oysters were amazing.
Food was atrocious and over priced for what it was. We have been travelling for a month around the States and this has just been awarded our worst meal of the trip! Lacie was a great server but it doesn’t make the awful food any better.
$6 for 7 pieces of an asparagus is also a rip off.
Food was excellent!
Pre game meal!! Service was a little slow but expected as it was pre playoff game. We were seated on time and the Servers personality totally made up for the wait time. Generous pour drinks and great flavor!! The hand crafted oysters are out of this world.
The wings were amazing.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance Pere Marquette hotel, but their restaurant staff is "phoning it in". They seem completely disinterested in the quality of their meals and especially the experience of their customers. The menu was lackluster to start with, and truthfully, only the rain kept me from walking to one of the many excellent nearby restaurants. Really a shame for such a poor showing from such a nice hotel.
The oysters were fresh and were a great deal. Both fish dishes we had were tasty as well.
Excellent food - oysters are as good as they get. Very good attentive but not intrusive service. We went twice during our stay....
The service was erratic; received part of the order but received several other tables food twice. The crawfish spoon bread is divine. The convenience of them being one of the few restaurants open on Xmas probably overwhelmed the staff. The team was friendly and apologized for the errors😎
An Oyster bar with no oysters.
Kind of like the Monty Python Cheese Shop skit.
The service was good but we didn't have the opportunity to eat because when we went there just to eat oysters they were out of them.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal. However, we ordered our drinks before appetizers and didn't receive them until after we were almost done with our apps - plus mine wasn't right. Despite asking for them, the waiter forgot to give us plates with our appetizers.
The food was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I had grilled fish that was overseasoned and a house salad. I really enjoyed the beignets and simple cup of coffee for dessert.
The server and hostess were very friendly, but the forgetfulness and time it took to get us things(despite not being busy) plus being unavailable made us a little sour.
We DID enjoy sitting by the window watching people go by. The ambiance was good. I wouldn't seek this place out for dining, but if I were staying nearby I could see popping down and sitting at the bar for a drink and fries or more delicious beignets.
Family and I had a great experience. The food was delicious, the server was courteous and professional, and the atmosphere was cozy. The staff was friendly.
Ambiance was mellow and classy. Service was attentive but with big gaps in waiting time. Food was incredibly fresh
