Tachi - Assembly Chef's Hall
TACHI is the traditional way to eat well and eat conveniently.
We have created a premium omakase menu that is served to you standing-up, and in less than 30 minutes!
Just like stand-up sushi shops in Japan, we only have a limited number of standing spots (8).
Please note: Menu is subject to change and we ask that you kindly advise us of any allergies and dietary restrictions. We will substitute the piece with another one.
Please note all reservations have a 30-minute time limit and that the reservation is standing only. Please read through our reservation policy here: http://www.tachistandup.com/reservation-policy/. By confirming a reservation with us, you agree to the reservation policy in place.
Best sushi I’ve ever had in the world
Very delicious sushi,and excellent service!
First time. Absolutely fantastic. Quality was excellent. Can’t wait to go back.
Legit omakase, and for $55 the value is definitely there. Chef was a pleasure to talk to too, and looking forward to many more meals here in the future!
Excellent sushi. Couldn't be more fresh. Served by the chef. Stand-up bar and out of there in 30-40 minutes. Really good value. Just not a place to linger or have a long conversation.
Most value for money omakase experience in Toronto. A very tasty experience.
It is good for causal lunch.Have to expert no chopstick for eating. I learned this from Japan, they always give you hot wet paper towel before eat instead of cold one.
Incredible food, very fun experience. Drinks are a little underwhelming (canned sake is okay, very common Japanese beers), 30 minutes is a bit rushed but I understand that the quick in and out concept. Would recommend to a friend but not sure will be back again due to the price for a very short experience, not able to truly take the time to savour and enjoy it all. Still a wonderful time, thank you!
Overall it was very good. Nice place to bring a guest not from TO. Would love to have more of the ones that I truly like ( eg fatty tuna belly, scallop) and would pay the extra cost :) I appreciate that you see how they prepare the sushi right in front of you and how skillfully and gentle they prepare it. Would come back again!
Tachi is a great way to introduce yourself to omakase without a huge financial commitment. The chef serves nigiris quickly so you can expect non-stop sushi. If you are used to traditional omakase served in 1 to 2 hours, this might feel rushed. Perhaps a second visit will help you to appreciate this quick style of serving.
Second time and it keeps getting better and better! The absolute best sushi in the GTA! Service Ruth a smile! Arigato!
Just wanted a quick omakase sushi experience.
Great little venue that does traditional standing sushi bar correctly.
Read some reviews and know what to expect (set menu, standing only, 8 people at a time, done in 30 min). Knowing that, the food and experience were great. Will repeat.
Food was amazing!
Pricey drinks, but food was fantastic. Worth the trip
Friendly service and excellent food/drink = awesomeness!!!
Great sushi omakase in Toronto!
Great quality with great value!
Fresh food with wonderfully talented chefs. This is a stand up sushi omakase set menu and I commend the chefs for being able to deliver the experience with a goal of 30 min. We arrived a bit earlier but service started a bit later than scheduled, but understandable and not inconvenient. It’s good if you’re looking for something with a quick turn around. Book early to get reservations.
Love how fresh the sashimi they offer
What a cool concept for sushi. Excellent sushi served in a simple, yet unique and fun way!
Excellent service and food. Friendly chefs Richard & Kevin
The whole experience was worth the price! Will be back next time we're in town :)
30 mins does not give time to enjoy the meal but good value and food was great
Carlvin was a spectacular host. So welcoming and accommodating! Will come back always.
Good sushi at a good price! Will definitely return.
I went to Tachi for the first time for lunch on a Friday. It was wonderful. The sushi was top notch and each piece was delicious. We got there a little late and we were still able to enjoy our sushi in our seating window. I understand why they have the 30 min slots (standing only, small place, more covers) but it did take away a bit from the experience. You don't really have time to chat and observe the chefs' technique. I would definitely go back but it felt a tad pricey. If they included tea I would have felt better! I recommend for a special occasion.
In terms of sushi quality, almost without peer in Toronto (for lunch). Overall great experience!
Great delicate sushis. Loved the care and treatment from the staff. A must!
There is not much service during this visit. The sake we ordered came after 15 minutes when the time allocated to diner is only 30 minutes. Waitress pretended that she did not know there was drink order.
Definitely too much sauce on some pieces.
Very awesome experience as usual! Enjoyed every bit of it!
Good experience. Great sushi and nice atmosphere. Feels authentic.
This is Toronto’s best sushi experience bar none. Closest thing to Tokyo in North America.
First omakase experience and my mind was blown. Great quality and fun experience.
Simple, straightforward and no fuss. The Chef was accommodating to my preference. Perfect little meal for before the theatre!
Needs to be one or two dishes less so it’s less rushed. Few people had them piled up at the end in a rushed panic. Make it 5 bucks less (1 dish cost) but 2 dishes less will allow to saviour the taste. Also need more information about the concept during the meal. It should be an experience not just stuff you mouth and leave.
Incredible experience and awesome food!
Really great experience, have had a lot of sushi in the past twenty years and this rates in my top three for value, experience and quality of rice and fish. Will definitely be going back 😄
