Tableau Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately the fish cake dish was dreadful. Thankfully the waiter offered immediately to take it off of our tab. The wait staff was very nice. The drinks for a long time coming, even though the restaurant wasn’t very crowded. The brass band walking around was a bit too loud for older folks. But I would definitely go back. I’ve been there several other times and have had no issues at all. But get rid of the fish cake on the menu. You can do better than that
I will never go back to this establishment, nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone. We had the absolute worst service. We are in the hospitality industry and if one of my staff gave the service we received they would be let go on the spot. The server never introduced herself, we had to ask what the specials were. She never refilled our waters, another server walking by refilled and them when he noticed. The server completely ignored us even after our appetizer came out. My beer sat empty for 25min before another sever asked if I would like another one. The server forgot to put a soup we ordered in and then only remembered when I asked about it. We finally decided to go and celebrate my birthday elsewhere. We asked for the check and the straw that broke the camel's back is she just threw the check on the table without saying thank you, have a good night, not anything. We immediately asked for a manager to express our dissatisfaction. She offered to give us to go drinks, we declined and went to an establishment that actually had servers who cared about great guest experiences.
The bar staff was disappointing. We stood at the bar for near 15 minutes and were never acknowledged. My husband had to speak with the manager, who was very helpful and apologetic. We have been to several Dickie Brennan sister restaurants before and have never been disappointed. The wait staff were great once we got seated. Our food was AMAZING!! The manager brought us complimentary appetizers as well. The steak and mahi mahi was perfect!!
Tableau is always an elegant, engaging dining experience. Great to have a fine dining restaurant that can pace dining for a leisurely , lingering dinner or a bit quicker meal when we need to make curtains-up for Le Petit Theatre next door! The service staff really understands the needs of these two different situations. Bravo.
Last night was a ‘linger’ night for us. So nice.
Four of us had dinner here on a frigid New Year’s Eve. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the experience. The restaurant is in a historic home and we seated in a pretty upstairs room. The menu was limited in its choices. Two of us had the drum which we both described as “mushy” although the taste was ok. One of us had the filet which she said was good. The redfish meal was just so-so. There are much better restaurants in choose from in NOLA. All in all not a great start to New Year’s Eve.
The food, atmosphere, and service were over the top! My filet mignon could have melted in my mouth it was so tender. My husband enjoyed local fish, black drum, and a serving of oysters. All food was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. It was a memorable way to spend part of New Year's Eve!
Very disappointed in our recent visit to Tableau. My family and i had made reservations for 4 earlier in the week. I called a couple hours before our reservation time to see if they could accommodate 2 additional guests. They kindly obliged. The rest of our experience was not so positive. Upon arrival we still had to wait about 15 minutes for our table to be ready. In the big picture, that’s no big deal but our entire experience was underwhelming and disappointing to say the least. After asking for recommendations for drinks and food from our waiter and asst. waiter we were given zero help or insight. We also found it interesting that neither of the table staff had tried many of the dishes on the menu. After ordering our food, it took well over an hour to arrive with no apology, no check-in, no offer of bread (we had to ask twice), nothing. After an extremely long and lonesome wait for our food it finally arrived (still no empathetic apology, no manager visit), we finally received our food. It was good, very good. But a high level of service standards is expected and required at a Brennan’s property. This visit was a far reach from that level of service. All parties felt that we were more of a neusance and annoyance to the table staff. We had to ask for water, bread, drink refills, recommendations, etc and were mostly ignored for most of our almost 3 hour dinner. When we are paying that much for dinner, I do not expect to be rushed out however I don’t expect to have to flag down help either. I doubt we’ll be back. There are other places who value their customers and ensure they feel that way.
