Tableau Ratings and Reviews
Drum fish was poorly selected & prepared. No complaints for steak & chicken, which were ok. Ambiance ok except for the awful recorded music they played. Service attentive at first, but dropped off a lot when we declined multiple offers of more alcohol. Good location, good table, good wine list.
Everything was delicious, and service was TRULY superb ... above and beyond the usual attentiveness and responsiveness. Server's suggestions for menu items and wine were absolutely on-target. All the food was excellent ... and the standout items were the turtle soup (recommended by the server) and the flourless chocolate cake with marshmallow brûlée and salted caramel. Truly outstanding from start to finish. A bit pricey ... and worth it.
This was our last meal of a week of Revillion meals. It was by far the best one. Though the restaurant was very busy and there were several large groups we were well attended. Staff very friendly, engaging but maintained efficent flow. As for the food each course was well presented and flavorful. Even though it was multiple courses portions were right and we didn't end the meal feeling stuffed. Will definitely return to this well run Brennan establishment when we return to New Orleans.
The food was mediocre - the onion soup was barely warm and the black drum was rubbery, I actually need a knife to cut through the fish filet, never had to do that before. The service was inconsistent, it looked like they were short-staffed. We saw our server when she took our order and brought the check at the end; in between it was a variety of people bringing food and pouring wine, they all seemed to be rushing around to keep up. For a Brennan's restaurant this was a disappointing experience.
Our brunch was good. My entree was served late and was barely warm. Turtle soup was decent but had a congealed texture, Chef needs to take notes from Commanders on the very best turtle soup served in N.O. Service was ok but not to a Brennan’s standard or as I expected it should have been as a Brennan’s client for over 30 years.
We had a group of four and were pleasantly surprised . We chose from the pre-theater dinner menu and were thrilled with the taste and quality of the food; excellent value, too. A few of our party had crafted cocktails which were delicious and I had the house cabernet which was very good. Overall service was polite, friendly and attentive, but just a little on the slow side. In all fairness though, they got us out in time for our play with no rushing. Would highly recommend this restaurant and especially for theater goers - you can't beat the combination of Tableau and La Petit.
We had an amazing experience at Tableau! The food was incredible and unique, every dish was rich and filling, portions were generous, and servers were friendly and helpful. The dessert was one of the best I've ever eaten (Gingerbread Pudding, seasonal for the Prix Fixe menu). The next time I visit New Orleans, I will return a few times!
Had a good dining experience from the time we walked in the door. The food wasnt up to the quality I would expect for the price, service or location. Keep the staff, location and ambience but simplfy the dishes as less is more with a steak. My steak was cooked to the perfect temperature but lacked flavor and actually left 1/2 of filet on my plate. Something Inhave never done in 47 years of eating out. French onion soup was ok. The salad was a salad, the desserts were too decadent. The complementary bread was very good.
The food was great, I particularly recommend the demi royale to share (we took the grand but didnt particularly cared for the fried oysters, personnal taste), my filet was delicious (perfectly cooked, asked for rare) and my friends enjoyed very much their grilled chicken. The restaurant is really nice (i like the high windows and the light bricks) and the service was good.
A welcome overall good experience after a couple disappointing ones in new orleans.
We have been going to Tableau for the past 4 or 5 years when we visit our son in NOLA. The service was a little off--they tried delivering the wrong items to our table. It wasn't as crowded as usual--maybe more places to choose from on Thanksgiving dinner. My entrée wasn't piping hot and I saw that all of our four meals sat before the wait staff figured out where the food went. I may give it another try--but will probably look elsewhere for a Thanksgiving dinner. We spent $250 before tip for 4 people--so I think we could find something comparable.
We were looking forward to a great thanksgiving dinner and ended up extremely disappointed. Our waiter seemed great, but we only saw him for a few minutes at the beginning of our meal, and then once before we left. We ordered a bottle of wine with dinner but it didn’t arrive until our meal was almost finished. My daughter’s prime rib ($50) was so raw she had to returned it, only to get one exactly the same. The waiter never came by to ask how the food was, or anything. He didn’t even drop off the bill.
For such an expensive place, I wouldn’t bother. The staff wasn’t friendly, the food was over priced and not very good.
This place just looks at you as a tourist with money. Take your money somewhere else and enjoy your night out!
Great atmosphere and excellent service. We made a reservation, and arrived 30 minutes early so we went to the bar first to get a drink. Service at the bar was great. After two minutes at the bar, they already had our table ready. We ordered gumbo, turtle soup, filet, and bread pudding. We both liked the gumbo. The turtle soup was an interesting flavor, different and unique. I thought the filet was just okay. I prefer a more tender and flavorful steak than what they offered. I'd say the food overall was just okay, but the atmosphere and the service was excellent.
